Pressing the "Reconquer" button does nothing, I cannot start combat. I can Oppress Minorities a lot, so I feel like a monster...
I couldn't seem to do anything? I could go to the map screen with the production and reconquer buttons, and I could get to the production screen, click the buttons to get money and buy tanks, go back to the map scree, the red country highlighted when I moused over it but I still couldn't seem to do anything but go back to the production screen.
I seem to be hitting invisible walls in the reconquer portion, so I can't get to any enemy tanks. Really nice RTS controls though!
At first I couldn't figure out what to do. I was able to Reconquer by buying enough tanks (I think). Once there my tanks seemed to hit invisible barriers that prevented me from getting to enemies to attack.
I couldnt fight or do much... Looked like an interesting game tho.
So can you take money from minorities infinitely and make infinite tanks? It seems that way. I made 100+ but didn't have nearly that many tanks for the RTS portion. RTS controls felt kind of buggy too. Could be a pretty fun dictator simulator if things work a little smoother.
Tried to follow the tutorial but couldn't figure out how to start combat.
It seems like you've got a good start here. The feel was really nice, and the context was good.
I couldn’t work out what I was doing or how to win. After a couple of minutes of doing stuff I gave up. I like the music and the concept.
It reminds me another game - Papers please! with its oppressive atmosphere. This is a solid project. The music is great. Thank you for this entry ++
I felt like there may have been a decent game here, especially once I got to the RTS section, but it's a bit hard to know what's going on.
I liked the take on "monster" and the overall theme. Looks like there are a few weird things to work out with the gameplay, but it mostly worked for me after some retries. The tanks get stuck eventually so I wasn't able to see the whole level.
seems like not working, i can't reconquer anything, just go to the production tab and wreck the country, and then... "YOU WON" cinematic pops... could't rate it though
Cool concept, could be better executed but its amazing for the time it was made in.
It's a little difficult to get into the gameplay mechanics during the reconquer fase.
I like the sovietic feeling, it remembers me of "papers, please"! :D
You used construct 2! Well done btw! :D
This still buggy and broken, but i can see the concept is very good.
40 tanks, couldn't reconquer anything. button just did nothing. Interesting idea though.
It's no clear what action you can perform and when, maybe a real totuorial od more info during game could help. Music it's good with the concept. Interesting idea though.
The rts portion was nice, I see you've gotten mousewheel zooming in :D
The panning controls only really worked on a very thin strip of the window.
Sorry I'm still very much in the game developer's mindset so anything your game does that mine didn't stands out :P
Good work for a competition piece :)
Great music and nice mood. Gave the feeling of a North Korea or Soviet state making the game give quite well the intention of the theme! Sad about the bugs and it really made the game smaller. :(
I didn't seem to be able to enter combat via the reconquer button.
Music was real good!
Music is crazy awesome. But "Reconquer" is not working? What I should do?
the concept seems great. I really like the methods to raise funds, it fits perfectly well with the theme. The choice of music is nice. I was sadly blocked by invisible walls in a tiny square and couldn't reach more than 2 tank enemies. Congrats for trying a complex concept in a short time!
That's the first game i've seen that uses the theme of jam in a REALLY different way. You're a monster, if you wanna be. The worst monster in the world. Great idea.
Good music, mechanics and graphics convey oppressive atmosphere. UI needed a bit more responsiveness to convey activity. Also, # of minorities would be a good stat to have on the production screen.
sorry i really tried this, but couldn't do much. reconquer didn't work at all. good attempt and the theme approach is really good!
I'm not sure if I can get into this game, I can't get past the reconquer button. :(
Took a while to get anything to happen, it seems to take a few tries to get to the RTS part. When I got into the RTS portion, the tanks seemed to get stuck behind invisible walls, seemingly making it impossible to continue. A bit more extensive a tutorial would be really helpful.
did not understand how to play it, but the concept was interesting
I have encountered a few war games this time around and they are nice. Good idea, with more time I'm sure it will be even better.
I finally managed to get to the rts part. After reading the comments, I bought 100+ tanks, and suddenly the reconquer button worked.
It's a real shame that this game is so bug ridden, because the RTS part seemed really great, but invisible walls made it impossible to destroy all the enemy tanks.
Consider fixing the issues, as I'm pretty sure these bugs qualify as game breaking, and as such, you are allowed to fix them according to the Ludum Dare Jam rules.
I was also having issues trying to figure things out. Good try though.
I could get money and buy tanks, but not actually attack anyone. I liked the theme though!
If you have a mechanic to track who oppressed the most people, I'm sure I'm the biggest monster. Point made, I'll sell out anyone for infinite free money.
Needed more direction on how to play. Good audio and theme interpretation.
Very hard to judge as a strategy game that has not implemented any strategy yet.
I had about 200 tanks but couldnt do anything with them. Smashing requonqer did nothing.
It is a feature or a bug i can get with my funds in minus?
Overall it seems like a good idea, converting the theme is good to, music is really nice too (why did you deactivate music-rating?), but i couldnt play it :(
I couldn't get the Reconquer button to work, but I love the ominous music that plays in the plotting screen!
For reference, I am using the latest version of Firefox (40.0.3). Hopefully that helps.
Whilst the UI was a little wonky at times (the reconquer issue that is mentioned elsewhere) the overall idea for this game is superb. Thoughtful piece which (when the bugs are ironed out) has a great deal of potential.
I like the idea, however, it was difficult to get started. Thumbs up for the music.

Mini Submission FAQ
TEAMS: Teams entering the Jam should pick a single representative to submit your game, or create a team specific account you can share. We currently do not support Team Voting, but sharing an account and together playing and rating games is acceptable.
CAN I ENTER BOTH EVENTS?: You should pick 1 event, whichever you think it’ll do better in. If the idea is strong, and everything plays well enough, you can go Compo. If you’re a perfectionist, and would prefer people to play a more polished game, do the Jam. Historically, more games are entered in the Compo, but with more people and more time, Jam games have the potential to be better (that doesn’t mean they are). Many solo participants do enter the Jam.
If you made 2 games, unfortunately, the website doesn’t support multiple submissions per user. To submit your 2nd game, you will have to make a 2nd account. Only do this if you made 2 games. Alternatively, if one game is better than the other, then consider just entering the better game.
CAN I KEEP WORKING UNTIL THE DEADLINE?: Yes! Immediately after the 48 or 72 hours, we do something called Submission Hour. As the name suggests, it’s an extra hour for you to package, upload, and submit your games. If there were catastrophic issues trying submitting your game, or you misunderstood how submissions work, that’s okay. It happens. We’re flexible. If you need advice, check with the folks on IRC. If you need an admin, get in touch.
CAN I KEEP WORKING ON MY GAME?: Oh definitely! You should! But for the sake of judging, keep the Compo or Jam version around. You can include a link to the Post-Compo/Post-Jam version of your game on your games page, but sure your main links are the original version.
PORTS: Ports to other platforms can be done after the deadline. That said, the sooner you finish your port, the sooner people can play your game, improving your chances of placing in the final results. For best results, provide a Web version of your game, or a Windows version with no dependencies. Also be sure to rate at least 20 games to improve your visibility (Coolness).
MY GAME CRASHES, IS UNBEATABLE, OR I MADE A TYPO: We allow you to fix crashes, win condition, or tiny bugs after the deadline. In a sense, this is like “porting” to support more players. We leave this open to interpretation, but generally speaking your game should be identical to the game you submitted. No new features, just fixing mistakes you should have caught had you been better rested.
MY GAME DOESN’T SHOW UP: If you can’t find your game, it’s usually because the URL to your downloads are missing ‘http://‘. Fix your URLs (http://mysite.com/mygame.zip) and you will show up. Alternatively, if you just posted it, wait a minute. The cache may not have refreshed yet.
NOT LOGGED IN?: If you get a message about not being logged in, even though you are, it’s because your web browser cached the non-logged in page. You can fix this by either refreshing your cache or clearing your cache. CTRL+F5 in many browsers. Chrome is a bit more work. Press F12 to enable Developer Mode, then you can right click on the refresh button and select “Empty Cache and Hard Reload”. This option is unavailable if you are not in Developer Mode.
Really hard to play and get into. It maybe would be cool if you can guide player though it with just not only text tutorial.
