Play as MISHMASH, the World Eater ; what else can be say ?
The game should be self-explanatory, but just in case, click on a planet to eat it. Eat green, avoid red, blue can help.
Edit: moved my log into a proper postmortem post here http://ludumdare.com/compo/2015/08/29/mishmash-post-mortem/

The camera lagging behind you got annoying very quickly. The game could also have benefited from a slightly faster pace. Love the graphics and presentation, although the cursor appeared as a black box for me.
Looks great and fun idea! Wish the planets would keep being generated, I hit the "edge" of the universe and then wouldn't be able to go back where the planets are because I ate them all.
I love this graphics. looks cool.
Survived for 38 seconds. At some point stuck at the loop of non-profitable points with no escape because random generator hates me =)
Lasted 188 seconds. Easy control and easy to play. Fun game, great work!
Brilliant!! sorry you couldnt play mine on your mac. will work on that for the next LD, great job!
Liked the game.
Lasted 181 seconds. Then the screen was empty and my monster drifted offscreen.
Really liked the art-style.
Didn't like so much, that the game is entirely luck based. And there was a tiny knack in the sound when starting to eat, but that's nitpicking.
Fist thing that caught my eye was the graphics. The simple, yet adorable artstyle was perfect for the competion. The audio was also great as the music was ambient and fit the environment. However, the game felt unfinished due to things like the cursor being a black box, for example. The gameplay also felt a bit unbalanced as the randomization often screwed me over (the worst case being stuck with no planets on screen and dying due to not being able to move). Overall a decent game, with an awesome presentation.
Always good to see hand drawn graphics. Still trying to figure out more about gameplay. Either way, gj for finishing it in 8 hours!
The game was absolutely not self-explanatory! So, thankyou for including those instructions :)
I liked your hand-drawn art. Really nice.
Nice job for only 8 hours.
With a bit more of work it could fast become very addictive !
I get an error that says "failed to download data file" when I try to play the web version.
nice mood and interesting gameplay idea. once you find the dominate strategy it got a little repetitive but it's still a strong entry.
Thank you all for the kind comments :) @KevinWorkman I had this error also with another entry, I think it's linked with hosting on Dropbox, you can try again another time if you happen to see this comment :)
Pretty interesting. It was a little confusing on how to play though.
Oh wow, I love this concept! I didn't know what to do at first, but once I got the hang of it, I had lots of fun. I'm sure this would turn into a great game if you decide to polish it up more. :D
Good little game :) I was a bit confuse with gameplay at first but it came clear quickly. I really loved handmade visuals, good style and it was well integrated. That was a bit frustrating sometimes to be stuck in empty places ; even if it's part of the gameplay ("arg why did i ate this planet!"), maybe just adding a slow move could make it more dynamic than waiting to die totally stuck :] Menu song was funny also
I really liked this! A little challenging to figure out at first, but fun once I got the hang of it. Only problem was that there are points where there are no other planets on the screen forcing the game to end. Maybe add a bunch of smaller planets that deal damage sprinkled in so you can use those to jump around quickly.
I like this style. Graphics very creative. But the camera lagging behind you.
Fun little game, i really liked the graphics and the audio. Nice entry
77 seconds! I like the paper style and gameplay. It would be nice if camera would jump faster.
Really cute game! Being able to move the camera, even if only a little, would have helped quite a lot...
Love the scanned cutout artwork. I was almost going to do the same with my game. The cursor was a black box for me, but did not hinder my ability to play. Just a slightly ugly blemish in the graphic style. Fun little game. Would like to see more depth to the game over time, somehow.
This game has a nice art style. My friend and i also used a paper style actually. The game Is interesting and different. Not bad.
Really like the graphics and gameplay, but got stuck in a dead-end trap of red planets!
87 seconds. Nice work! I really liked the art style. I did get owned by the RNG the first couple of playthroughs though, nonstop red planets. Because I never actually saw any green I couldn't really figure out how to play until the second round.
@GertJohnny thanks for the feedback, RNG is definitely the first thing I'll tweak if I make a post-mortem version!

Mini Submission FAQ
TEAMS: Teams entering the Jam should pick a single representative to submit your game, or create a team specific account you can share. We currently do not support Team Voting, but sharing an account and together playing and rating games is acceptable.
CAN I ENTER BOTH EVENTS?: You should pick 1 event, whichever you think it’ll do better in. If the idea is strong, and everything plays well enough, you can go Compo. If you’re a perfectionist, and would prefer people to play a more polished game, do the Jam. Historically, more games are entered in the Compo, but with more people and more time, Jam games have the potential to be better (that doesn’t mean they are). Many solo participants do enter the Jam.
If you made 2 games, unfortunately, the website doesn’t support multiple submissions per user. To submit your 2nd game, you will have to make a 2nd account. Only do this if you made 2 games. Alternatively, if one game is better than the other, then consider just entering the better game.
CAN I KEEP WORKING UNTIL THE DEADLINE?: Yes! Immediately after the 48 or 72 hours, we do something called Submission Hour. As the name suggests, it’s an extra hour for you to package, upload, and submit your games. If there were catastrophic issues trying submitting your game, or you misunderstood how submissions work, that’s okay. It happens. We’re flexible. If you need advice, check with the folks on IRC. If you need an admin, get in touch.
CAN I KEEP WORKING ON MY GAME?: Oh definitely! You should! But for the sake of judging, keep the Compo or Jam version around. You can include a link to the Post-Compo/Post-Jam version of your game on your games page, but sure your main links are the original version.
PORTS: Ports to other platforms can be done after the deadline. That said, the sooner you finish your port, the sooner people can play your game, improving your chances of placing in the final results. For best results, provide a Web version of your game, or a Windows version with no dependencies. Also be sure to rate at least 20 games to improve your visibility (Coolness).
MY GAME CRASHES, IS UNBEATABLE, OR I MADE A TYPO: We allow you to fix crashes, win condition, or tiny bugs after the deadline. In a sense, this is like “porting” to support more players. We leave this open to interpretation, but generally speaking your game should be identical to the game you submitted. No new features, just fixing mistakes you should have caught had you been better rested.
MY GAME DOESN’T SHOW UP: If you can’t find your game, it’s usually because the URL to your downloads are missing ‘http://‘. Fix your URLs (http://mysite.com/mygame.zip) and you will show up. Alternatively, if you just posted it, wait a minute. The cache may not have refreshed yet.
NOT LOGGED IN?: If you get a message about not being logged in, even though you are, it’s because your web browser cached the non-logged in page. You can fix this by either refreshing your cache or clearing your cache. CTRL+F5 in many browsers. Chrome is a bit more work. Press F12 to enable Developer Mode, then you can right click on the refresh button and select “Empty Cache and Hard Reload”. This option is unavailable if you are not in Developer Mode.
It's a very decent, creative game. :) I would LOVE to see a fully made, steam release of this. :D
