Adula is a super short adventure game set in space.
I wanted to do so much more with the game, but ran out of time.

I liked this a lot! Good job keeping things small for the game jam, but also making a fully realized thing.
I really like the art! I didn't notice the text at first though because it was so small... I wish there was more to this!
Not sure what the issue is, but nothing ever loads for me. Is it an issue with Chrome?
Beautiful! It's going directly into my inspirational folder =) But it's way too short,
I played out each of my fates. The music/sounds are all neat. All of the scenes are nice to play through. Its a bit short but very high quality and a promising choose your own adventure concept. Perhaps the story will continue?
@Josh Riley - It's a big load and it's flash and all browser hate it.
@internetpaulicy - My main reason for making this was to try a visual only time based choose your own adventure prototype thing. As short as this is I think it served that purpose well. I do have plans for a much larger game in the near future.
I would have loved this to branch more than it did. That being said, awesome style, and good work.
I really love the art, I wish you had more time to expand on this. Could be really fun!
Those graphics are beyond amazing!!! I just wish the game didn't end so fast because I love this style and everything about this game! Please keep working on this post-compo.
really cool look and setting/atmosphere! wish there was more to it!
Very stylish!
Really wished there was more. Lots of potential for simple controls and slick storytelling!
Ho I'm so sad, this looks amazing and it's so short. The QTE gameplay seems to be cool. Realy great job for the graphics.
Best art I've seen so far. Very limited of course, but interesting!
This was really charming. I could definitely stand to play a longer version of this.
Really short, but a very cool concept. Would love to see more of it. And oh yeah, gorgeous art style.
Lovely setting and art style, short but left me wanting more!
The graphics are fantastic, but this game needs a lot more content. 72 hours may have been a better choice.
fun times. Loved the creepy monster. I could get past the first level.
You seriously need to expand this idea. It's such a great start, and I will gladly throw money at a longer one
Amazing how much comes across so quickly with this one. I love the idea of an adventure game where you are presented with a visual scenario and have to chose fast. Not sure if this has been done before but man it plays great. Would love to see this with a good amount of options added. Also I would give more points for style if I could.
really short, but i like the alternate ending and the monster's attack is really sweet!
love the clean art! wish there was just a little more to the game then 2 options.
Woah so slick. Really nice set up here and the idea of the simple time-sensitive actions is really clever. It's super short, but I would love to see this expanded into a full game!
It's like playing on a well designed poster
loved the art style
Woah. Best audio / visuals of all the games I've played until now. Seriously impressive!
Very polished, nice artistry with good quality audio/visual. However it's not short or super short, it's a micro adventure ... Would have loved if it was longer, you got something there, keep on working :)
When you said super short you did not lie. The graphics and music were cool and i like the entire idea in general.
Beautiful, beautiful small game. Could easily imagine this developing into a nice little adventure.
Amazing style, solid concept! I agree that it needs to be longer and maybe the Jam would have been a better choice :)
Like Birke said, Lovely Artworks but more gameplay would have been great! I hope you think about adding some content!
Excellent art, polish and overall presentation. It's all ace!
But erm, what game? It's not really, really really really a super pretty slideshow. With a big load time :p
Art is very cool and the concept is interesting. Looks very polished.
Art and music were fantastic. I was so excited about the game, and then it was over. Would love to see a complete version of this
Loved everything about this. I like the thought of a point and clicker type game where you need to make choices quickly. Looks and sounds amazing.
I loved it. The design is great !!! Animations are perfect. Hope you'll continue a bit?
The concept is nice, but the game is far to short to be able to be properly evaluated IMO. I like the take on the graphics, and would quite like to see more of it!
This is really impressive! I love to see people do so much with so little. The visuals are top notch, animation is great, audio is solid, story is excellent. The only thing I wish for is more to play though. Nice job here.
One of the best art styles i've seen this jam. Shame it's a bit short.
Enjoyed the aesthetics a lot. Wish the decisions were more meaningful.
Amazing art, but you were not kidding when you said it was SUPER short haha :D
Unfortunately short, but what was there left us wanting more. Great art!
Pretty game with easy controls. I wish there was more content. :(
This was a cool game conormn. I really loved the animations you put into this game, and the art style you chose was very good. Hopefully, this may be a small taste for an even bigger game in the future. (If you catch my drift) :)
This is a very interesting game. I really enjoy the graphics and sound design. The idea is very unique as well. I just wish there was more than two rooms!
It's a pity you ran out of time for adding more stuff, but this is damn amazing in its graphics, audio and overall mood! I love the very simplistic, clean style, and the monster's animations are stunning. Awesome stuff.
Super-cute art style, I love it! With a few more decision points added I think this could be a really engaging game.
Amazing graphics and audio. The game is really short but you've got a pretty solid base for a future game, can't wait to see what you'll do.
Awesome game, short but sweet! I had to download the source because the game doesn't load on the webpage.
Nice art direction, the atmosphere of the game is great, so bad that the gameplay is too limited. But this is a compo, and I think you spent time on graphics and animation. Good entry!
Totally amazing art! Like Chris Ware in space! Love this and would love to see a huge adventure game made like this.
I love this whole thing, the art, the animations, the bouncy soundtrack, everything!
Please make this longer
Too longer intro. Also the gameplay is minimal, but the visual are great!
Excellent animation, design and sound. It's a pity it's so short :( I'd love to watch it grow into a full game!
Really cool art style (and very polished audio design, too). The two-choice menus concept seemed to go in an interesting way, but the game was too short.
Good job!!
It was a lot of fun to play, looked, and sounded great; however it was a bit short. I'd assume having graphics this good would mean compensating a lot of the gameplay. Other than that, though, it's awesome. Great job!
This is a fantastic entry. Good job. I quite enjoyed your game.
Really awesome! I love the style and the animation of the monster movement is great. So's the ship.
Of course the only criticism is the length! There wasn't enough time to listen to the whole of the music track (also awesome). I really hope you have the time to expand on it, just 4-5 more screens would really flesh it out.
Also, the time-pressure mechanic is really nice, and keeps with the setting.
Really love the art and music. Also the time pressure to make decisions. Great work!
Love it. The sound, the visuals, everything. Don't even mind that it's so short, it just feel so good
WOW, awesome entry dude ! Can't believe it's a 48 hour solo work. The presentation is the best I've seen so far. So many 5's ! Keep it up !
I love it. I was so disappointed when I realized how short it is. I want more of this!
this is the kind of visuals I deeply fall in love with. I'd love to see more of this. Also great music :>
Not sure this is a real game but ... whatever! It's beautiful! Awesome artwork.
Excellent entry, great minimalistic graphics. Could've been longer :(
Too short, aah too short. I was really expecting something amazing by the looks of the intro, but alas there really wasn't much.
Graphics were simple but yet very good, and the music was great. Can't tell how great it really is in extended play though.
Hopefully you'll add some more content later on :)
The simplistic art style looks great. I imagine it being on mobile for some reason, haha. Hope you work on this more. :D
Noooooooo why must it end so quickly! 5 star graphics and mood. Please develop this into a full game!
It could be better if...
- I could skip or accelerate the initial text.
- Have more game. :D It's so short.
Superb Graphics! I love the Vector-style animation. I couldn't get the controls to work and kept getting killed.
Great entry for such a short time.
-Loi LeMix
Such a great art style and movement concept. I'd love to see this developed further.
Stunning art style, I'd definitely play more of something like this!
Great art and animation. Probably the shortest ludum dare game I ever played. I got very confused with the controls being listed as "cursor" because I assumed that meant cursor keys. Eventually I tried the mouse!
Clearly this level of art has a price in terms of how much you can do in 48 hours but it's nice to see this quality, even as a tiny snapshot, in the competition.
Super short, but very, very well done. I included it in part 17 of my Ludum Dare 33 Compilation video series, if you would like to take a look :) https://youtu.be/qmrKCmuKBqk
The premise of game is really cool. I hope you continue the game!
Realy awesome game! One of best graphics and animations i have seen. It has a very motion graphics fell. Great mood.
Gj
Professional graphics and animations but it's so short, we would like to see more!
This is amazing. It's not anywhere close to being short for the quality delivered here!
Really nice aesthetic but really really short. I want more because this creature is so cute. Thank you for cool entry ++
Great art, really a shame that it's so short! Please do a post-compo version!
The art is amazing, but content is quite lacking :( Would really want to play more of this
Incredibly short, yet quite good. Art was excellent, and everything mixed together very well.
Everything about this game is great, except for it being extremely short. I would love to have more of it!
Just a tad short, not a lot of "game" in there.
Great minimalist art style
Lovely short experience, and simple but effective take on the theme.

Mini Submission FAQ
TEAMS: Teams entering the Jam should pick a single representative to submit your game, or create a team specific account you can share. We currently do not support Team Voting, but sharing an account and together playing and rating games is acceptable.
CAN I ENTER BOTH EVENTS?: You should pick 1 event, whichever you think it’ll do better in. If the idea is strong, and everything plays well enough, you can go Compo. If you’re a perfectionist, and would prefer people to play a more polished game, do the Jam. Historically, more games are entered in the Compo, but with more people and more time, Jam games have the potential to be better (that doesn’t mean they are). Many solo participants do enter the Jam.
If you made 2 games, unfortunately, the website doesn’t support multiple submissions per user. To submit your 2nd game, you will have to make a 2nd account. Only do this if you made 2 games. Alternatively, if one game is better than the other, then consider just entering the better game.
CAN I KEEP WORKING UNTIL THE DEADLINE?: Yes! Immediately after the 48 or 72 hours, we do something called Submission Hour. As the name suggests, it’s an extra hour for you to package, upload, and submit your games. If there were catastrophic issues trying submitting your game, or you misunderstood how submissions work, that’s okay. It happens. We’re flexible. If you need advice, check with the folks on IRC. If you need an admin, get in touch.
CAN I KEEP WORKING ON MY GAME?: Oh definitely! You should! But for the sake of judging, keep the Compo or Jam version around. You can include a link to the Post-Compo/Post-Jam version of your game on your games page, but sure your main links are the original version.
PORTS: Ports to other platforms can be done after the deadline. That said, the sooner you finish your port, the sooner people can play your game, improving your chances of placing in the final results. For best results, provide a Web version of your game, or a Windows version with no dependencies. Also be sure to rate at least 20 games to improve your visibility (Coolness).
MY GAME CRASHES, IS UNBEATABLE, OR I MADE A TYPO: We allow you to fix crashes, win condition, or tiny bugs after the deadline. In a sense, this is like “porting” to support more players. We leave this open to interpretation, but generally speaking your game should be identical to the game you submitted. No new features, just fixing mistakes you should have caught had you been better rested.
MY GAME DOESN’T SHOW UP: If you can’t find your game, it’s usually because the URL to your downloads are missing ‘http://‘. Fix your URLs (http://mysite.com/mygame.zip) and you will show up. Alternatively, if you just posted it, wait a minute. The cache may not have refreshed yet.
NOT LOGGED IN?: If you get a message about not being logged in, even though you are, it’s because your web browser cached the non-logged in page. You can fix this by either refreshing your cache or clearing your cache. CTRL+F5 in many browsers. Chrome is a bit more work. Press F12 to enable Developer Mode, then you can right click on the refresh button and select “Empty Cache and Hard Reload”. This option is unavailable if you are not in Developer Mode.
Lovely art. Captions could have been a lot bigger though. To start with I did not realise they were there in the first place. I like the horizontal format of the game as well. Would have been nice if there had been more decisions to make as well
