My Cup of Fury

by One Seed Fruit - Compo Entry

hold <W> to lift saucer

hold <A> or <arrow left> to move saucer left

hold <D> or <arrow right> to move saucer right

aim with mouse

<left-click> or <space> to shoot

1) I meant for this game to have difficult controls.

2) You probably need to master the controls first before you can actually climb the platforms.

3) If you have trouble keeping your balance in the air, try pressing up <w> and then immediately alternate between left <a> and right <d> keys to "shake" the cup into position, then maybe press up <w> again.

4) Or let the saucer, with the cup on it, slide down towards left or right until the saucer is "horizontal" instead of being tilted towards one side.

>>>>>>> suppose to descend a lot, most of the time, <<<<<<<

just to keep the cup >>>>>>> balanced <<<<<<< on the saucer.

So long pressing the <w> key with the intent of "flying" upwards will most likely throw the cup off.

Thanks for playing! Hope you love it. Sorry if it's awful.

-Fixed some colliders.
-Fixed score not resetting on game over.
-Tweaked physics a little to make game more playable.

P/S: If you're playing the WebGL version on, your controls won't work right after the game is loaded. You have to

>>>>>>>>>>click on the tiny "Unity WebGL" logo at the bottom left <<<<<<<<<<

or anywhere along there and then

>>>>>>>>>>click on the game's screen itself right after that <<<<<<<<<<<

to "activate" the "window" before the keyboard controls work. Or set the game to fullscreen.

Funny idea for the game, however I cant seem to be able to fly the saucer fluently (sometimes it boosts the power for no reason etc. ?)
At least I got pair of kills before falling over, polishing the controls would be nice. (or maybe i'm just bad player)

Moving didn't seem to work for me - I could only fire on the spot. :/

Aug 25, 2015 @ 7:31am

Not bad, i liked the interesting mood of the game. FYI you should tell poeple they have to full screen for the controls to work :)

Thanks davidcmcdonald. I have edited in a p/s about getting the keyboard controls to work.

This is a good concept and the graphics look quite nice I just had issues getting the controls to work well and even after full screening the game still found it difficult :) but I liked the original idea.

Great idea for a game! I like it a lot.

I did finally get the hang of the controls, but man, I gotta tell you, the game would be more fun if the controls were slightly easier! I think it would be slightly easier if the physics were more realistic.

I also would occasionally bump a platform with the cup and be told that I had lost, even though the cup was still firmly on the saucer.

It looks interesting, but unfortunately, I can't get the saucer to fly :(

Thanks guys. I just fixed the colliders a bit.

logiclogue, you're probably playing the WebGL version on the page.

1. Click on the tiny "Unity WebGL" logo at the bottom left.
2. Click on the game's screen itself right after that.

Good little game! Nice art and interpretation of the theme. Quite funny too. Either the level or the controls could be a bit more forgiving. Also I wasn't that keen on the audio.

Haha thanks! Sorry about the audio. I rushed the audio part. Everything was my voice recorded using Audacity, even the sound effects of when the saucer is boosting. :p

Ether this game is REALLY hard, or I just suck...

The game is meant to be really hard. You're suppose to get used to balancing the cup on the saucer first before trying to go up the platforms. :(

Interesting mechanic, but not easy.

Very very difficult to fly! Saucer is too imbalance. Great idea though.

With Unity web, control are working only full screen for me.
Maybe it's the same for the ones that can't play...

The idea is very good but the control is a bit hard. The sound doesn't help to play a long time.

Silly, neat game. I included it in part 22 of my Ludum Dare 33 Compilation video series, if you would like to take a look :)

Mini Submission FAQ

TEAMS: Teams entering the Jam should pick a single representative to submit your game, or create a team specific account you can share. We currently do not support Team Voting, but sharing an account and together playing and rating games is acceptable.

CAN I ENTER BOTH EVENTS?: You should pick 1 event, whichever you think it’ll do better in. If the idea is strong, and everything plays well enough, you can go Compo. If you’re a perfectionist, and would prefer people to play a more polished game, do the Jam. Historically, more games are entered in the Compo, but with more people and more time, Jam games have the potential to be better (that doesn’t mean they are). Many solo participants do enter the Jam.

If you made 2 games, unfortunately, the website doesn’t support multiple submissions per user. To submit your 2nd game, you will have to make a 2nd account. Only do this if you made 2 games. Alternatively, if one game is better than the other, then consider just entering the better game.

CAN I KEEP WORKING UNTIL THE DEADLINE?: Yes! Immediately after the 48 or 72 hours, we do something called Submission Hour. As the name suggests, it’s an extra hour for you to package, upload, and submit your games. If there were catastrophic issues trying submitting your game, or you misunderstood how submissions work, that’s okay. It happens. We’re flexible. If you need advice, check with the folks on IRC. If you need an admin, get in touch.

CAN I KEEP WORKING ON MY GAME?: Oh definitely! You should! But for the sake of judging, keep the Compo or Jam version around. You can include a link to the Post-Compo/Post-Jam version of your game on your games page, but sure your main links are the original version.

PORTS: Ports to other platforms can be done after the deadline. That said, the sooner you finish your port, the sooner people can play your game, improving your chances of placing in the final results. For best results, provide a Web version of your game, or a Windows version with no dependencies. Also be sure to rate at least 20 games to improve your visibility (Coolness).

MY GAME CRASHES, IS UNBEATABLE, OR I MADE A TYPO: We allow you to fix crashes, win condition, or tiny bugs after the deadline. In a sense, this is like “porting” to support more players. We leave this open to interpretation, but generally speaking your game should be identical to the game you submitted. No new features, just fixing mistakes you should have caught had you been better rested.

MY GAME DOESN’T SHOW UP: If you can’t find your game, it’s usually because the URL to your downloads are missing ‘http://‘. Fix your URLs ( and you will show up. Alternatively, if you just posted it, wait a minute. The cache may not have refreshed yet.

NOT LOGGED IN?: If you get a message about not being logged in, even though you are, it’s because your web browser cached the non-logged in page. You can fix this by either refreshing your cache or clearing your cache. CTRL+F5 in many browsers. Chrome is a bit more work. Press F12 to enable Developer Mode, then you can right click on the refresh button and select “Empty Cache and Hard Reload”. This option is unavailable if you are not in Developer Mode.
