You are a Terror Bird (gigantic, flightless bird, now extinct), and there's nothing you love quite as much as food. Luckily, the humans are having a festival so they're all carrying around tasty food. Run in and grab as much as you can before they can react.
This game was heavily inspired by my girlfiend's quaker parrot, Pepper Pot, who can sometimes be quite the little monster. He loves stealing human food, and often thinks he's bigger and scarier than he actually is.

Fun, clean design, well put-together. Reminded me of a mix of Katamari Damacy and collectathons like Banjo-Kazooie. Well done!
Liked the puff of dust effect when you land. Movement was fun my one suggestion would be on changing your head bob motion from a sine wave to perlin noise. I find it creates a much more natural effect. Overall great work on this entry
HAHAHAHAHAHA
I loved this game. Play the tutorial, it's worth it to learn the moves and it's not tedious at all.
My favorite bit was the screech, and wathing all the humans drop their food and run. Funny stuff!
This game was awesome. It was fun to play, the controls were tight, I liked eating food, etc, etc, etc. I thought the tutorial was excellent and not boring, so it worked great.
The game itself was really really easy... I mean, the only enemy is yourself. I guess to get the high score you would need to sprint more, and then you would run the risk of running out of energy.
5/5. 10/10. 11/10. Would eat ice cream and bananas again.
Awesome game, and I'm scared of your quaker parrot. The stealing food idea was fun and the balance of energy vs getting to jump everywhere was good. You even had a detailed tutorial.
This is the most polished game of this Ludum Dare I've tested so far !
Music and sound feedbacks are great and goes well with the visual design and main character; the controls are always responsive and I never got stuck or anything; and the normal game mode makes me want to try again to beat my score (38 so far) !
Great job!
ps: as long as it's the jam, if reusing old graphics gives you more time to make a better game overall then it's 100% win in my opinion :)
Nervous gameplay, cool design...oh! and it's very fun to smash the poor little kids and to eat their candy ^^
Another good idea is the tutorial
Awesome, so cool! Pastel colors and upbeat mood reminds me of Katamari, like someone else said. I really wish there was a mac version though, the web version is actually a bit to beefy for a laptop.
Pretty solid entry. I had a lot of fun following terrorized citizens :D.
@bakpakin: I added a Mac version in case you want to try it, but I don't have any way to test if it works myself.
Being a giant bird!
Yeah! Good idea, and even better execution. I ate so much trash. It did seem like people were forever scared of me after screeching.
it feels so good to play this game very solid, cute and fun congratulations! good work =D
That crazy chaotic music was just perfect. Nice looking and fun to play. Nice job!
Haha, great game, nicely polished. Especially enjoyed the long jump feature
I loved everything about this game - it was so good. I was really impressed with the super-jumping mechanic - I wish there was more food on the tops of buildings so that I could have used it even more.
Fun, would have been cool to have more levels if you had time! Only because it was fun enough to want more!
This was absolutely fun to play (probably a bit better than my own first person monster entry). Although I didn't need to, I ended up running into the civilians a lot as I found it quite hilarious when they get sent flying into the air.
Birds can be quite a handful! I like this game a lot. Being a big hungry bird. The leaping and bumping into people. Pleasant graphics and fun jaunty music. Awesome.
Well, here's a guilty pleasure I can get behind! Terrorize people to consume their food! Just like humans! And other animals!
Really like the wide-range of movement controls. Not a fan of the controls for consuming food, however, due to its repetitive nature. Perhaps a combo system or a more efficient way of consuming is possible? Either way, had a lot more fun that I thought. Looks really nice, too!
I loved the visual design, it was really nice. Also, Terror Birds ++
And to think, the gnomes tried to domesticate these things.
Cute game, nice design. The gameplay is pretty smooth but the bird is real floaty, and I feel like there could probably be more variety to it. Overall very solid though.
A bit easy, but fun. It looks great and is definately well polished. The bird itself looks awesome, shame you only see it on the title screen.
Really nice game, congrats and long live the terror bird !!!
i am the good mega giant bird that eats all your food. belive me. mega good graphics.
Alfred Hitchcock approves! Solid and really fun entry. Congrats!
This is awesome. Great art, good polish, humor, sound. Great entry, will be in the top 100 in one category at least. Only thing that could make it cooler is if you were a dinosaur, like a Utahraptor/Velociraptor! ;)
Very fun game! Everything: art, sound, controls, difficulty, combine well and make great user experience!

Mini Submission FAQ
TEAMS: Teams entering the Jam should pick a single representative to submit your game, or create a team specific account you can share. We currently do not support Team Voting, but sharing an account and together playing and rating games is acceptable.
CAN I ENTER BOTH EVENTS?: You should pick 1 event, whichever you think it’ll do better in. If the idea is strong, and everything plays well enough, you can go Compo. If you’re a perfectionist, and would prefer people to play a more polished game, do the Jam. Historically, more games are entered in the Compo, but with more people and more time, Jam games have the potential to be better (that doesn’t mean they are). Many solo participants do enter the Jam.
If you made 2 games, unfortunately, the website doesn’t support multiple submissions per user. To submit your 2nd game, you will have to make a 2nd account. Only do this if you made 2 games. Alternatively, if one game is better than the other, then consider just entering the better game.
CAN I KEEP WORKING UNTIL THE DEADLINE?: Yes! Immediately after the 48 or 72 hours, we do something called Submission Hour. As the name suggests, it’s an extra hour for you to package, upload, and submit your games. If there were catastrophic issues trying submitting your game, or you misunderstood how submissions work, that’s okay. It happens. We’re flexible. If you need advice, check with the folks on IRC. If you need an admin, get in touch.
CAN I KEEP WORKING ON MY GAME?: Oh definitely! You should! But for the sake of judging, keep the Compo or Jam version around. You can include a link to the Post-Compo/Post-Jam version of your game on your games page, but sure your main links are the original version.
PORTS: Ports to other platforms can be done after the deadline. That said, the sooner you finish your port, the sooner people can play your game, improving your chances of placing in the final results. For best results, provide a Web version of your game, or a Windows version with no dependencies. Also be sure to rate at least 20 games to improve your visibility (Coolness).
MY GAME CRASHES, IS UNBEATABLE, OR I MADE A TYPO: We allow you to fix crashes, win condition, or tiny bugs after the deadline. In a sense, this is like “porting” to support more players. We leave this open to interpretation, but generally speaking your game should be identical to the game you submitted. No new features, just fixing mistakes you should have caught had you been better rested.
MY GAME DOESN’T SHOW UP: If you can’t find your game, it’s usually because the URL to your downloads are missing ‘http://‘. Fix your URLs (http://mysite.com/mygame.zip) and you will show up. Alternatively, if you just posted it, wait a minute. The cache may not have refreshed yet.
NOT LOGGED IN?: If you get a message about not being logged in, even though you are, it’s because your web browser cached the non-logged in page. You can fix this by either refreshing your cache or clearing your cache. CTRL+F5 in many browsers. Chrome is a bit more work. Press F12 to enable Developer Mode, then you can right click on the refresh button and select “Empty Cache and Hard Reload”. This option is unavailable if you are not in Developer Mode.
I was grinning ear-to-ear like a moron and laughing the whole time I was playing this. I certainly enjoyed myself. Nice job.
