Ludum Dare 32 — April 17th-20th, 2015 — Theme: An Unconventional Weapon

chromenopePSA: As of Chrome 42 (Released April 14th), NPAPI plugins are disabled by default! That means Unity Player, Java, and Silverlight games will not work in the Chrome browser! That said, Flash in the Chrome browser continues to work fine (PPAPI).

To Developers: Consider using HTML5 and WebGL instead. Having troubles with the export? Don’t worry. See Ports below.

To Players: A workaround is to enable NPAPI plugins in your Chrome settings. Click or Copy+Paste this URL in to a tab:

As of September 2015 however, this option will no longer be available.

Other browsers (Firefox, Internet Explorer, Safari) and Flash are unaffected, but FWIW there is no Unity Player or Silverlight for Linux.X

Twitch RPG Brawl

by Sharky - Jam Entry

A twitch based PVP RPG live on twitch, Multiplayer, using commands through Twitch chat.

We had several hard to solve bugs and our teams main programmer has been busy with life and unable to get our bugs fixed, but it's FINALLY playable on Twitch in a loop without having to shut the game down, although the abilities are still bugged ATM, but targeting players with basic attacks works

List of commands....

General commands
!join = Joins the battle
!class = Lists the various classes you can choice from
!abilities = Lists the abilites by class for all classes

Class commands

Basic attacks (all classes)
!attack 1 (targets player 1)
!attack 2 (targets player 2)
!attack 3 (targets player 3)

Ability commands (These are bugged out ATM)
Wizard = !balloon !ducky
Cleric = !bandaid !ointment
Archer = !hotcoffee !fruitjuice
Rogue = !stealth !backstab
Knight = !sweep !shield

Requires 6 players to !join, in order to start combat.

Developer notes:
The abilities system is bugged ATM, we are working fast on a solution, but the game is still worth a check even now.

The game will be up roughly around
1pm-1am central time

Hey! At the time of voting there only seems to be a link to a Twitch channel!

It's a twitch game, the game is played on twitch

Too bad the game isn't always on, and it must very rare to have 6 players playing it at the same time. A stand-alone/1 player version could have been nice.
It looked very nice, too bad we don't really have access to it.

Really cool! I'd love to play myself, but sadly Twitch has decided to ban me off-and-on repeatedly for no reason without telling me :/

I managed to try it because 6 people were online (developer included) and although it has rough edges for sure, it's a nice concept that can be easily expanded.

Thanks :) Yeah it didn't turn out as good as we'd hoped, for our team it was a bit too big of a project, hence the rough edges, but we diff plan on doing a after LD version (already planned that before LD because we had a initial idea that we really wanted to make for a full game and LD was a good chance to concept it out)

Very cool to make a twitch game :) Would have loved it to be single player too though

Thanks, it's a very rough diamond that'll be in the works, after my team finishes our current game. We have plans to make your on teams and have PVE sections, using the PVP part thats already in there for touraments, and you form your own parties, tons of customizability and TONS more

Yeah, in the future there will definately be a multiplayer version that isnt reliant on 6 people being logged in at the same time so stay tuned for future updates.

It seems I can't play the game so no voting from you, can you make a normal download file?

Why can't you play the game??? and no thats not feasible because you'd have you get all kinds of streaming software and what not to play the game that way not to mention the player issue you'd have

May 7, 2015 @ 3:28pm

I wish the stream was live. I've been wanting to do something like this and would love to check it out

It'll be back up in about 1-2 hours

Really need idea to have the game as a twitch channel. However, as others have pointed out, it's VERY rare to get 6 people all on at the same time in order to battle. A single player version would've been nice, or even if you made it only 2 player. Nice graphics 'n all in the picture though.

May 7, 2015 @ 5:07pm

It seems that the game is offline. :(
I'll keep an eye for when it comes back! It looks like a neat idea! :)

Ok the game is up now(sorry had net issues due to a net repair worker)

@LadyEmaSkye The rarity isn't because no one wants to play, its that no one knows about the game(as well as it not being a full release. Playing final fantasy with only 1 character vs 1 enemy would be boring, and it'd be even worse if all you had were basic attacks)

Nice idea, but its annoying that you have to wait for the game.

Sharky says ...
May 8, 2015 @ 4:36pm

@ZQMony, the only real wait is that I only have 1 computer that can stream(2 craptops that can't) so it has to be on my main computer streaming, which means I have very limited useage of my main computer while its up, hence its annoying to keep it up all the time, plus this computer uses TONS of electricity, So I don't like leaving it on over night, and the other issue is, the game hasn't become "popular enough" because it was just made, so the player base isn't there. The other day a dev friend hosted me, and the people were fighting over not being able to get into battle because there was too many players vs slots, but then that faded after like a hour or so. so with a VERY small player base this game would be able to go nonstop easily. it needs its own dedicated computer to stream from, it's own twitch channel rather than sharing mine, and I'd need a lot better net connection so that I could have 2 streams going at the same time with decent quality on both(I fight to get poor quality on 1 stream) which is all stuff I have planned for a post LD version, but money doesn't grow on trees, so yeah it'll be a while

Mini Submission FAQ

TEAMS: Teams entering the Jam should pick a single representative to submit your game, or create a team specific account you can share. We currently do not support Team Voting, but sharing an account and together playing and rating games is acceptable.

CAN I ENTER BOTH EVENTS?: You should pick 1 event, whichever you think it’ll do better in. If the idea is strong, and everything plays well enough, you can go Compo. If you’re a perfectionist, and would prefer people to play a more polished game, do the Jam. Historically, more games are entered in the Compo, but with more people and more time, Jam games have the potential to be better (that doesn’t mean they are). Many solo participants do enter the Jam.

If you made 2 games, unfortunately, the website doesn’t support multiple submissions per user. To submit your 2nd game, you will have to make a 2nd account. Only do this if you made 2 games. Alternatively, if one game is better than the other, then consider just entering the better game.

CAN I KEEP WORKING UNTIL THE DEADLINE?: Yes! Immediately after the 48 or 72 hours, we do something called Submission Hour. As the name suggests, it’s an extra hour for you to package, upload, and submit your games. If there were catastrophic issues trying submitting your game, or you misunderstood how submissions work, that’s okay. It happens. We’re flexible. If you need advice, check with the folks on IRC. If you need an admin, get in touch.

CAN I KEEP WORKING ON MY GAME?: Oh definitely! You should! But for the sake of judging, keep the Compo or Jam version around. You can include a link to the Post-Compo/Post-Jam version of your game on your games page, but sure your main links are the original version.

PORTS: Ports to other platforms can be done after the deadline. That said, the sooner you finish your port, the sooner people can play your game, improving your chances of placing in the final results. For best results, provide a Web version of your game, or a Windows version with no dependencies. Also be sure to rate at least 20 games to improve your visibility (Coolness).

MY GAME CRASHES, IS UNBEATABLE, OR I MADE A TYPO: We allow you to fix crashes, win condition, or tiny bugs after the deadline. In a sense, this is like “porting” to support more players. We leave this open to interpretation, but generally speaking your game should be identical to the game you submitted. No new features, just fixing mistakes you should have caught had you been better rested.

MY GAME DOESN’T SHOW UP: If you can’t find your game, it’s usually because the URL to your downloads are missing ‘http://‘. Fix your URLs ( and you will show up. Alternatively, if you just posted it, wait a minute. The cache may not have refreshed yet.

NOT LOGGED IN?: If you get a message about not being logged in, even though you are, it’s because your web browser cached the non-logged in page. You can fix this by either refreshing your cache or clearing your cache. CTRL+F5 in many browsers. Chrome is a bit more work. Press F12 to enable Developer Mode, then you can right click on the refresh button and select “Empty Cache and Hard Reload”. This option is unavailable if you are not in Developer Mode.
