Last screenshot is from the POST LUDUM version!
You are the SLICK LICKER with the tongue that just won't quit!
Someone stole your children! Find the perps and show them what you're made of!
Hold and drag your mouse to jump (like Angry Birds).
Tap mouse to LICK - the tongue is your unconventional weapon!
Collect orbs and coins for points, shields for armor and hearts for more health.
When you find your child you have to bring it back to the exit and click the head above the portal for next level!
There can be some (random) bugs and glitches in the Web version, try reloading the page if you have problems. Or download the Java version for Windows/Mac/Linux... (Java Runtime Environment required - most computers have it...)
I tried embedding the game in the submission page, please adjust the sliders to center the screen (or run full screen...) The refresh button is there in case of bugs and glitches that causes the game to hang. Or shift-reload the browser if that does not work. Pardon me, my first HTML 5 game. :-) :-(

I got a bug, the action froze, while music kept playing.

I found this one really difficult. There was also a lot to process/take in - lots of numbers on the HUD, and lots of things happening on screen that I was unsure about. That being said (and as is so often the case with LD games), the core jumping and licking mechanics were fun.
Strange game, I kindea like it. Was really lost, didnt know what the different game objects did. It felt like I couldnt give the jump more power by dragging longer, like there was a soft cap on it. This game would benefit a lot of having multiple levels that teach you the game. Great job overall! :)
Gameplay like Bugaboo the flee, first spanish videogame ever, so for me it's nice :)
I like the concept of flinging yourself around with the tongue but the gamplay felt a bit random and awkward. Also that music loop grates fast.
The jump mechanic is really nice :) I didnt get why I have to lick stuff... the music is a bit repetitive :)
The idea of licking is amazing but not to usefful the movement system is great and the level hard enough.
I couldn't get very far but wow is it fun to jump around!! There's so much going on I don't really know what's good and what's bad, but that's my only real complaint.
The movement is kinda fun, and the tongue attack is nice. It's just a bit overwhelming - seems like you had enough mechanics in there to make several levels, and you just threw them all into one level - it's a bit much to take in
Pretty fun and a cool concept, but there's a bit too much happening right from the start. Perhaps a slower ramp up to the amount of action would make it a better game.
I like the use of a frogs tongue as an unconventional weapon. The music was also quite nice!
Nice controls, I liked bouncing around and hitting stuff!! Cool one!
At the start I thought the screen was very busy and I found it hard to know what was happening. After a while I got used to it and I find the game mechanics very interesting.
As a tip I think you have built a lot of features and objects into this game, next time you might be better off picking a smaller number and really refining them.
At the core I think you have some really cool mechanics to build a game around.
Concept was interesting! The jump itself could be tweaked to be a bit stronger, and was really cluttered visually. Fun, just needed a bit of poilsh.
Interesting take on the theme. I had a hard time figuring out what was going on though, as there is so much happening on the screen at once, and the music was a bit grating (and I'm forced to listen to it on repeat while I fill out this comment). Concept seems pretty solid though. Nice work.
nice game, catchy music. i have no idea what's going on, anyhow the tongue is very funny to look at
This is one of the most unconventional weapons ive seen all dare!
Nice work! Controls were challenging, and I felt a bit overwhelmed by everything. Perhaps a slower ramp up into the action would help. Liked the mechanic though, and the tongue was sweet!
I found the controls to be a bit too difficult to get used to and there was too much happening on screen at once for me to know what to do.
Very difficult to play, but I like the music, and the play on the theme.
Light are really cool but the graphics remains really "weird" but the game is like that too, so it seems totally correct! Praise the spotlights. I got a bug which makes the game stuck.
Cool concept! My advice would be to simplify the graphics, although I might be a bit bias on that one :) Also I like the title, it rolls off the toungue!
Took me a sec to figure out what was going on. The jumping mechanic was fun, but when the screen is full of enemies I wish I could execute a jump just a little faster!
Great concept, I really liked the main mechanic! A solid entry :)
I was planning on upgrades for the tongue to increase length and upgrades to the blob to increase jumping power. But in the end I just did not have enough time. Same with slow progress of mechanics, I ran out of time so I did not have time to create different types of levels unfortunately. But if people like the game I can do a post-ludum on it to implement all the ideas I receive here. Thanks for your votes and your comments all!
Game seems pretty cool but it's really difficult to navigate. Licking didn't seem to really do much, and I got the hang of flinging eventually but I feel like the indicator made it kinda confusing to tell which direction you were gonna go (something like an arrow would make it more obvious). I have no idea what most of the stuff on the screen was but I have a feeling I'd like playing more if there were clearer instructions and/or a tutorial. I thought the graphics and music were fun as well. Great work!
This game is so crazy @.@ The song is great but a bit too repetitive, maybe because of the loop been a bit off. It's fun to jump around! But can't find the usefulness of licking. Actually I don't get really well what's going on xp
But great job overall!!
It started out very overwhelmingly. It would have been nice to get some idea about the movement before the first enemy and then some mild introduction before all the chaos. I liked it though. The music was good, but tunes very short so the menu sound got a bit annoying (while writing this comment). I found myself at the bottom of the first level but I didn't really get what the exit was before I died. A good start for a game though.
An unique game, but I think its too polluted, can't get what is happening
Interesting... There's a lot going on to process and still some bugs. I like the tongue idea but it never seemed to have enough power for me...
I can see what's there being turned into something cool with time to balance etc. Would be cool if there were tutorial levels to ease us in, but I appreciate that time constraints make such things difficult!
I was playing it and was stuck in the first room, then the game crashed because 'c' is undefined.
Omg! Why? What? How? Seeing the game in action as like licking a toad while tripping bad on mescaline, but I digress. The control scheme is something new (dragging mouse to jump, sticking to the walls) but most of the time I had no Idea what was going on, everything trying to kill me (or not), colors, lightning, rockets, lasers, human sacrifice, dogs and cats living together -- mass hysteria.
The soundtrack is a mix of Doom on the Super Nintendo and funky Bach ambience, and I frankly have no idea what the Unconventional Weapon is or how it works, everything's unconventional!
Also I had a lot of framerate fluctuation but I can't be sure whether that's intentional. So overall: A memorable experience :)
Its fun to jump around and hit things. I really like how the world fuzzes out while you are moving. I'm not sure if its intentional but its neat and I don't think I have ever seen anything like it before. I feel if there was more contrast in colours I think it would help a lot other wise a great entry.
Interesting game, definitely a cluster of different graphics, icons and a lot of slowdown for some reason on my machine. Wish the jump mechanic was stronger, as getting up the level was pretty difficult, definitely good usage of the theme!
Nice game! I love the mechanics! I hope to sse this game one day with a good art!
The graphics are overwhelming and it feels like someone has done what they want and like. Much appreciated.
Good effort for your first html5 game. Try making the control systems more smooth, and having less elements on screen would be better. The audio gets old fast too. Keep up your work!
Great game. Felt like being inside a pinball game -In a good way. Nice mood and beautiful graphics. Took me short while to get hang of the controls and such, but I ended up having fun :-) Nice job.
I got a bug, the action froze, while music kept playing.

The concept was interesting with the combination of the movement by slinging and the tongue to attack close up.
Intersting idea, like the difficulty and style.
The tongue :P
Music is short but good.
It was difficult to understand what was going on. Would have been better to have fever mechanics (removing the concept of armo for example). There's a good game in there but it is buried under a lot of unnecessary complexity. The music loop should also have been longer.
Thank you again all for the comments and constructive criticism! I am aware of the bug in the HTML 5 version, the Java version does not have the bug and also plays a lot better (less lag). So try that one if you can! Thanks again.
I found this game quite difficult. I was never quite sure what I was suppose to do, and there was so much going on it was hard to process. I think some more consistency between the graphics would help as well.
The gameplay idea was alright, and I think it could be quite interesting if it was improved upon a bit and explained some more.
The Good:
- it was totally playable on mac
- the idea of a tongue as your weapon was unique
- you had some cool graphic effects
- seemed like there were quite a few levels
The Bad:
- after about a min or two of listening to the music I turned my speakers off, that was very annoying...
- movement was pretty chunky and hard to use
- the tongue attack wasn't very useful, I had a better chance at hitting enemies if I just let the tongue hang and then jump over them
- it just wasn't very entertaining, the movement and attacking didn't feel good and there was no real consequence to getting hit by enemies
- there was just waaay too much going on to be able to understand what was going on
The Ugly:
- nothing, everything worked as advertised
Good job! GO LD32!
Web player doesn't load properly for me - At the DKIT screen it freezes. I'm bookmarking this, and I will be back to download and play but I thought you'd want to know in case you can fix it!
It took me a second to figure things about but this was really quite fun. I agree the a little more jump power would make it more approachable. It took me a while to get out of the initial bottom area :)
I could play for a while, but the game froze up before I could get to the exit twice. Really insane gameplay haha. I didn't like the music (but it's great that you got some in!) and I wish the visuals were more cohesive so it was easier to understand what was happening though. Good stuff overall.
The mechanic where you fling yourself with your tounge is pretty cool, but beyond that the game was very confusing.
game froze. the music was pretty good, but it was just a small clip repeated over and over. it got annoying after a while.
I like the idea, and the it was fun! Controls are a tad hard to use, not sure if that's the html5 build or something else though.
I like the concept, found it to be a bit hard to control until it froze :(
The fling and lick mechanic is cool, I'd like to have a chance to use it without all the enemies at first.
Looks like an interesting concept, but there was so much going on with the art that I found it a little hard to keep playing - Would like to see something similar with a more minimal approach :)
Thank you again for all the comments, encouraged by this I am currently working on a post-ludum version where I implement your suggestions and criticisms. Thank you all again for the feedback!
Really weird. To wall jump with your tongue is cool. But I'm not sure to understand everything that happens in this game, that troubles the readability. There are too many elements at the same time at screen. The same game but with a well-made tutorial inside, would be so much better.
Lots of things going on my screen that made me confused, game crashed on 2nd level after taking the children. Still fun game, the action of licking seems odd and could be more fast maybe?
Check our game too if you want http://ludumdare.com/compo/ludum-dare-32/?action=preview&uid=44367
A very cool game, liked it a lot. The screen is very cluttered though making objects obscure, furthermore which objects do what and what purpose they serve was difficult to decode. That said this is an awesome game, well done.
Crazy game! I am on a laptop so a little tougher to control. I found the baby thing but didnt make it to the exit. I did last quite some time flying about and sticking to things.
It was fun and very bright/flashy quite liked the music too.
Nice concept :)
I kept getting stuck at the beginning, found it a bit overwhelming without any instructions and with stuff exploding everywhere, but it did look awesome while it was happening :p Good effort, first licking game I've seen this LD!
I got a bug when jumping and clicking :S. Its rare game :D good luck anyway
'C' is undefined, game froze, music played... Like GlowingSnail only it was the 'c' instead of the 'a'... music is pretty annoying, but I really dig the concept of using your tongue as a weapon... Graphics need some work IMO...
Good luck!
Pretty hectic game! I wasn't sure what was going on.
There was quite a few collision bugs and audio was a tad repetitive, but it was interesting!
the idea is nice, but the game mechanics are a bit clumsy (not obvious how to use them).
the graphics are funny tho :)
I get the idea but I found it confusing. There is too much going on the screen. The "elastic" sometimes didn't get me far enough so it was kinda hard too.
Had a bug crash the game first time I played ("gwt$exceptionL <skipped>: Cannot set property 'c' of undefined") but it worked fine when I reloaded.
It was very busy and took a while to figure out what was what, but the core mechanic worked well and was a fun way to navigate.
A tongue which needs ammo - that's what I call an unconventional weapon :D.
The game is a bit difficult, but some adjust will solve it I guess. The theme is really funny, the tongue mechanic is super cool haha
Really enjoyed to play it ! I especially loved your idea. Good work overall, congrats ;)
that was very strange - but interersting idea - points for originality
Love the music, great midiguitar riffs dude and the innovative gameplay is hard but cool, unique game!
good concept... but somehow i wonder about the jump... sometimes i can jump more... sometimes cannot...
Pretty chaotic game (mostly in a good way). The jumping was a bit weird to get used to.
Wow that may be so ugly that it's somehow ok. Quite WTF i like that but not really fun to play. Well fun yes but not thx to the gameplay. Weird enough. Thx. 5 stars on spanish...well you seem to have opted out of that category...too bad.
The idea of using a tongue as a unconventional weapon is pretty interesting. The gameplay is cool, but sometimes is hard to control what he does hehe. Good job :)
Jumping around was pretty fun, but I had no idea what was going on most of the time :s
Great sound and nice looking graphics, good game overall. Well done!
interesting concept. the first level had so many different things in it. i also had some performance problems. has potential with some polish.
Nice an dinteresting jump mechanic, good use of theme :D
I had trouble with the performance. Lots of stutter. Loved the tongue. Ha!
wow, there is a lot going on screen here, made it difficult to assess what was going on. framerate on the web version seems to be real rough, I was getting a lot of slowdown, which added to the difficulty of play. A longer more involved music loop would help as well, it's kinda the reason I stopped playing. the midi guitar is a bit harsh for me.
Very awesome game. Loved the tongue action. Whoever steals my children will get a good licking, for sure. Would've loved to be able to slingshot further, or faster. :)
The concept is pretty interesting but I feel like there's too much going on in one screen.
Can't even get past the first level. The length of the jump line doesn't seem to scale properly with the power of the jump. Its a cool idea but I'm finding it difficult to play and get much of anywhere.
The bugs in the web version are unbearable.
I think if you have made the game simpler and focused on the core mechanic which is the tongue and jumping, it would have been better. The game is overwhelming with different elements.
But anyway, a good effort for a 48 hr game and please continue working on the game and post it.
Super-confusing, and the controls felt incredibly ineffective. The tongue-lashing was only good for aerial control. I think a lot of elements should be (enemies, special effects, etc.) to make the game easier, more readable, and nicer-looking. Yikes for the 90s.
Hard to understand what's going on around us, what's good, what's dangerous etc. It's a bit chaotic ^^
Wasn't a fan of the movement system. if nothing else it could use some intermediate platforms. The visual style could use more of an aesthetic theme, right now the graphics seems like there all over the place. Overall it was alright.
I find it a bit too hard to understand but the idea seems pretty inventive
Not really sure what was going on but I loved it anyway. Rocking music. Two requests: allow jumps in the middle of jumps and add some kind of guide for the exit. Good stuff!
Nice mechanics, hard to master.
The screen was full of inputs I wasn't entirely sure what each one was, maybe simple first level is needed.

Mini Submission FAQ
TEAMS: Teams entering the Jam should pick a single representative to submit your game, or create a team specific account you can share. We currently do not support Team Voting, but sharing an account and together playing and rating games is acceptable.
CAN I ENTER BOTH EVENTS?: You should pick 1 event, whichever you think it’ll do better in. If the idea is strong, and everything plays well enough, you can go Compo. If you’re a perfectionist, and would prefer people to play a more polished game, do the Jam. Historically, more games are entered in the Compo, but with more people and more time, Jam games have the potential to be better (that doesn’t mean they are). Many solo participants do enter the Jam.
If you made 2 games, unfortunately, the website doesn’t support multiple submissions per user. To submit your 2nd game, you will have to make a 2nd account. Only do this if you made 2 games. Alternatively, if one game is better than the other, then consider just entering the better game.
CAN I KEEP WORKING UNTIL THE DEADLINE?: Yes! Immediately after the 48 or 72 hours, we do something called Submission Hour. As the name suggests, it’s an extra hour for you to package, upload, and submit your games. If there were catastrophic issues trying submitting your game, or you misunderstood how submissions work, that’s okay. It happens. We’re flexible. If you need advice, check with the folks on IRC. If you need an admin, get in touch.
CAN I KEEP WORKING ON MY GAME?: Oh definitely! You should! But for the sake of judging, keep the Compo or Jam version around. You can include a link to the Post-Compo/Post-Jam version of your game on your games page, but sure your main links are the original version.
PORTS: Ports to other platforms can be done after the deadline. That said, the sooner you finish your port, the sooner people can play your game, improving your chances of placing in the final results. For best results, provide a Web version of your game, or a Windows version with no dependencies. Also be sure to rate at least 20 games to improve your visibility (Coolness).
MY GAME CRASHES, IS UNBEATABLE, OR I MADE A TYPO: We allow you to fix crashes, win condition, or tiny bugs after the deadline. In a sense, this is like “porting” to support more players. We leave this open to interpretation, but generally speaking your game should be identical to the game you submitted. No new features, just fixing mistakes you should have caught had you been better rested.
MY GAME DOESN’T SHOW UP: If you can’t find your game, it’s usually because the URL to your downloads are missing ‘http://‘. Fix your URLs (http://mysite.com/mygame.zip) and you will show up. Alternatively, if you just posted it, wait a minute. The cache may not have refreshed yet.
NOT LOGGED IN?: If you get a message about not being logged in, even though you are, it’s because your web browser cached the non-logged in page. You can fix this by either refreshing your cache or clearing your cache. CTRL+F5 in many browsers. Chrome is a bit more work. Press F12 to enable Developer Mode, then you can right click on the refresh button and select “Empty Cache and Hard Reload”. This option is unavailable if you are not in Developer Mode.
Nice! Makes me think of Worms, somehow. :)
