These every day park loving pedestrian look too happy!
As the InstiGator nothing would make you happier than running around (WASD/Arrows)
whapping those ped's on the head with your trusty soft bat! (SPACE)
Make them chase you til they run outta breathe!
Then whap 'em again!

**If your interested in achieving the high score and having it saved in the annals of history. click 'Play Instigator!' above and play on the web site.**

I'm really happy with what I completed in 48 hours during this my first solo Game Jam.
Thanks Dynemanti for play testing and providing lots of quality feedback and ideas!
And thanks to Ludum Dare for existing!

Best so far! Simple game but it's so funny, I felt myself giggling as I whacked them and fled. Looks nice too, I like the art style and the scale shift from the bottom to the top, which works really well. The music and style of the sound fits perfectly too, although got a little repetitive (clearly because I played it for much too long).

Sounds really funny & the animation of the hit on the head too :) It's a shame that the hitbox is a little big and that it is not transformed into handbags after the game over haha
However the type of game is a little seen again and again but it is a fun remake ;)

@tripleVisionGames thanks! I did the music and sounds in the last 15 minutes, and I knew they would be really repeatative. That's why I put in the music on/off toggle. ^_^

High score of 220262. Silly fun game, with simple and effective graphics and sound. After all the Yolo/Swag/Salty word bubbles, I was pretty irritated at the InstiGator myself! As critique, I noticed after a time, people stopped chasing (I wasn't sure if this was a bug or intentional), and I also experienced a bit of slowdown when there were a large number of people after me. Some possible ways to build on this might be to create different pedestrian types with different abilities or movement patterns, and possibly some collectibles or terrain obstacles to mix up the obvious "run circles around them" play pattern. Good work, overall. I had fun!

The little animation of the gator walking/running around is absolutely spectacular. I liked the speech bubbles with the different phrases, and while the music was a bit repetitive, it wasn't obnoxiously so. More humorous than anything. :)

This is wonderfully funny in its simplicity. xD It became too easy once I got the hang of it, though.

I just tried to get 69,000 points because I'm really mature. Got 69006.

Good idea and well executed. I like the text too, and the pun title was pretty funny. It'd be nice if every time you hit someone you got more points so you could risk getting close to people for extra profit, but yeah, well done.

Yeah its a little easy but fun. Could benefit from some other mechanic to break up the running in circles with a mob chasing you. But then, I guess thats kinda the appeal. Perhaps more variety of people.

I recorded while I played this game:

This game totally cracked me up - I felt like a cheeky monkey! The animations and the graphics style is perfect - everything from top to toe is just overwhelmingly charming. I love how the people calmed down after a while, and you had to hit them again or start losing points. The music totally fit too. In a way it felt completely random, but it's all "random" in a funny way that just totally works. The little 3D effect is great as well. I loved the game, and although it's really a bite sized piece of entertainment, not everything is supposed to be huge complex things. Sometimes you just need a little seed of joy in your life :)

MY GAME CRASHES, IS UNBEATABLE, OR I MADE A TYPO: We allow you to fix crash or win condition bugs after the deadline (in a sense, like “porting” to support more players). We also allow “typo” bugs.
