Stick Dude

by Havi - Compo Entry

Finally I'm done with my first LudumDare! :D
The game is far from finshed, but it's playable..

How to play:
Take out the endless enemy waves and survive for as long as possible. You have 3 weapons: pistol, shotgun and rifle. Enemies randomly spawns ammo and medkit when killed.

A, D - move left and right
Space and W - jump
S - move down
Left mouse - shoot
Right mouse or left shift - cycle weapons

The "How To Play" part is not implemented so the button just quits the application.
I also didn't get to work on audio really, so it's crap :)

Holy crap those zombies are fast, i like it! The "How to play"-button crashed the game, but I figured out that I could switch weapons with RMB.

I really liked the pace and difficulty level. It's FUN and thats what games are about :)

Also nice bloodsplatter effects

Fun game, your blood particle effect is awesome, my best score: wave 7, after wave 6 the enemies become too fast. Also the sound effects is a little bit buggy sometimes. Very addictive game :P

Simple fun. Could ramp up a little faster. More enemies would also be nice.

Clicking "How to Play" crashed my game.

It takes too long to get from wave to wave.

Sound is really really not good. I'm not sure what you used but look into sfxr for really easy sounds that are good.

I always had rifle ammo after a while and the game became impossibly easy.

Very fun game c:
I didn't expect much when I started it, but after a couple of seconds of playing I realized it was actually very fun. The mechanics are smooth and enjoyable.
Also, there's a small bug in the enemy AI that allows the player to survive indefinitely in the left corner of the of the second platform from the ground.

Nice blood effects, those enemies are so fast! xD

Pretty addictive! Brings me back to my days spent on Newgrounds. I really dig the pace. Blood effect is awesome too. Hit wave 39 before I kicked the bucket.

Nice and fun game, but I didn't notice any difficulty increase so I got bored after a while. I like the weapon diversity. Graphics and audio could be better :p
Oh and I didn't know Unity did WebGL builds, more people should do that !

@Belvar I used the Unity 5 beta for this game. Thats why I could do WebGL builds :)

Great game. I love shooters.
You did a good job capturing all the essential gameplay and as everything is in place and feels good enough the game isn't hindered by the simple graphics.

Solid control, simple fun. Could be more challenging.

I made it until the 10th Wave! Great pacing for a very playable entry!

Of course it's "raw" but everything seems to be working fine and the core is incredibly fun! :D

I think I'll have a look at your source code, because I really want to know how you dealt with AI and collisions!

Great job!

Fun, but it's too easy to stay on the bottom and kill everything with the machine gun. Would be better if dodging enemies was more important (and fewer enemies to compensate for the increased difficulty).

I was writting "Maybe a too simple game" but I saw I stayed until the 25th round ^^
Simplicity is efficient :) Just had different kind of ennemies, and it could extend nicely the playability.

Blood is cool, art is really programmer style art. Shooting doesn't feel great (watch this! ) and enemys don't offer any varity, so the game has no tactical variance. sadly this makes it boring after

Fix the "how to play" and this will be a good game. Possibly have the bad guys a little slower to start.

I loved this game. It was a bit easy though. I go to wave 30 before giving up. I think you are given too much health and ammo so there is no chance of you dying or running out of bullets.

Yeah! You finished your first jam game too! *High five* :D

It's a fun little game! I like the different weapons, jumping through platforms, it feels pretty good!

If you continue with it, I would definitely add some more variety of enemies. Also I think the health system is a little weird. I could run through a lot of zombies and hardly get hurt, not to mention so many enemies would drop resources (especially health packs). I was never low on ammo or health. I think a few hit point system (like 3-5 hearts) would fit this game better.

Overall though cool game! And an awesome first LD submission! ^^

Wave 7, 30 kills on my first go. Wave 19, 192 kills once I figured out that I could switch weapons and I should stay on the high perch and be a sniper. Lots of fun!

PORTS: Ports to other platforms can be done after the deadline. That said, the sooner you finish your port, the sooner people can play your game, improving your chances of placing in the final results. MY GAME DOESN’T SHOW UP: If you can’t find your game, it’s usually because the URL to your downloads are missing ‘http://‘. Fix your URLs ( and you will show up. Alternatively, if you just posted it, wait a minute. The cache may not have refreshed yet.

MY GAME CRASHES, IS UNBEATABLE, OR I MADE A TYPO: We allow you to fix crash or win condition bugs after the deadline (in a sense, like “porting” to support more players). We also allow “typo” bugs. I.e. A true that should have been a false, a word that should have been a different word, very tiny changes that you would have caught if you had more sleep. We leave this open to interpretation, but generally speaking your game should be identical to the game you submitted. No new features, just things you messed up last minute. Typos.
