Ever wanted to join Ludum Dare? Think Again!
Feature bloat, distractions and the dredded 48hour time limit.
In GameJam Tychoon you have 48hours to pick a genre and cram it with features and content to satisfy 3 randomly chosen topics. Don't forget to use the community and hype your creation, even if the judges hate it the fans might still go wild.
You generate ideas over time, which drift to the top of the screen. When you have enough ideas the features (cards) at the bottom of the screen will light up. MouseOver them to take a better look, and click on it to Focus on that feature.
Don't forget to set your priorities! Doing code in an arty mood makes little code
tldr; gamedev tychoon but with 1 person and card based features.

Yeah, reminds me one of those old hacker-simulator game nobody knows)
Nice game, though the ui was hard to navigate. Maybe have a list of displaceable items to set the priorities instead. Also, it was hard to see the relationship between the tasks at the bottom and the priorities at the sides.
Hmm, you might be able to get it running on Linux using WINE, but I'm not sure vb.net translates well to Linux, I'll look into it though!
It's... Ludum Dareception :0
Seriously it's a nice idea, but the interface is not so easy to understand.
Maybe I'll try it again later.
Cool game! One thing I found really distracting were the labels flying everywhere, where games like game dev tycoon used smaller balls.
Quite good fun, but there's a lot going on and I didn't really feel in touch with it (and it wasn't out of control in a fun jam way :-) ).
Pretty fun game :)
I wish I could have used a timewarp this week-end too!
Great job!
The music was a little difficult to listen to constantly. It took a few minutes before I understood what I was doing and by then I was in "UI Polish" phase with 30 hours left in the dare! The game fit the theme really well and I liked your take on it. It was funny to play, as well!
Good job!
Good game, but a little bit a confusing.
I did a game with the same premise for look what I made weekend. :P
I couldn't really play it because the bottom row of ideas wouldn't show up, I think that they are there, but my monitor isn't high enough resolution? (1366 x 768

Ok, that's definitly a good idea :D
The UI is a little bit rough but the game is cool to play and funny !
I would play, but I have Linux, not Windows. Wine didn't work either. :(
A lot of different things going on at once, but a cool game!
Hey man, could you please help me debug the problem you had with my game? I've added a DEBUG version which will add a bit of logging to the keys, so please play it for a bit, do whatever you did before, and please send me the log! Thanks in advance!
As for your game, while I'm here, and as soon as I've said to my virusscanner that this really ISN'T a virus.. ;)
Well, I won, first place, with a game which had 4 in fun, and minusses in most other things... I wish it were that easy in real life! It was a bit confusing, so a bit of a tutorial would've been nice, but not a bad effort overall! Also the audio made me a bit jumpy.
Loved the game studio live plug haha, Nice to see this game worked out man ^^
Great entry :D
Interesting game, but it's also very confusing. I guess you need to play a couple times to get it right (just like the real Ludum Dare haha)
Wish I understood the priorities a little better but overall a really fun game. Great work!

TEAMS: Teams entering the Jam should pick a single representative to submit your game, or create a team specific account you can share. We currently do not support Team Voting, but sharing an account and together playing and rating games is acceptable.
NOT LOGGED IN?: If you get a message about not being logged in, even though you are, it’s because your web browser cached the non-logged in page. You can fix this by either refreshing your cache or clearing your cache. CTRL+F5 in many browsers. Chrome is a bit more work. Press F12 to enable Developer Mode, then you can right click on the refresh button and select “Empty Cache and Hard Reload”. This option is unavailable if you are not in Developer Mode.
PORTS: Ports to other platforms can be done after the deadline. That said, the sooner you finish your port, the sooner people can play your game, improving your chances of placing in the final results. For best results, provide a Web version of your game, or a Windows version with no dependencies. Also be sure to rate about 20 games to improve your visibility.
MY GAME DOESN’T SHOW UP: If you can’t find your game, it’s usually because the URL to your downloads are missing ‘http://‘. Fix your URLs (http://mysite.com/mygame.zip) and you will show up. Alternatively, if you just posted it, wait a minute. The cache may not have refreshed yet.
MY GAME CRASHES, IS UNBEATABLE, OR I MADE A TYPO: We allow you to fix crash or win condition bugs after the deadline (in a sense, like “porting” to support more players). We also allow “typo” bugs. I.e. A true that should have been a false, a word that should have been a different word, very tiny changes that you would have caught if you had more sleep. We leave this open to interpretation, but generally speaking your game should be identical to the game you submitted. No new features, just things you messed up last minute. Typos.
Nice game
