Made in just under 24 hours, 'Monsters' is a game inspired by classic Nintendo Game and Watch titles. Hidden in the safety of your duvet, you block your ears, shut your eyes and try to get a good night's rest - but will you make remain to see the dawn?

Getting caught results in a 'MISS' - get caught three times, and it's game over for you!
<<<<< Game Differences >>>>>
GAME A: Intended for beginners, Game A starts off slowly to help ease players into the action. Only one monster can appear on-screen at any time.
GAME B: A mode for those who want to dive straight into an addictive, fast-paced game. Not only does it start at a higher speed, but monsters won't wait their turn to try and grab you!
<<<<< Music >>>>>
There are only sound effects on a Game and Watch - there's no music here! Nothing's stopping you from listening to your favourite songs while you play, however.
Thankyou for taking the time to look at 'Monsters'; I hope you enjoy playing it as much as I enjoyed making it. Remember to post your high scores as well as any comments!

A very fun take on the classic Game & Watch systems. I like how the difficulty matches more the current standards than the limitations with the predecessor.
Game A took a while to get going but Game B was a lot of fun straight from the start. Nothing bad to say about this, it perfectly achieves what it's going for.
Cool game and watch style game. The controls on PC were a bit illogcal. Would rather have it all on the arrow keys or have it be clickable.
I like this. I could very well imagine playing this on the bus or so just for the heck of it, trying to achieve a highscore in the thousands. >=3
I can't play, my Windows is blocking the game :( I want so much to try a Game&Watch-like game !
ahah so awesome! very nostalgic and a good approach to the theme! :D i managed to get a score of 77
Awesome. The controls for each hand are so far on my keyboard that it takes a while before my eye-hand coordination gets used to them. After that the game becomes really addictive, a true memory of the classic G&W devices.
Brilliant interpretation of the theme, congratulations! :)
making an old-school LED style game was a great take on the theme, plus the game is actually a lot of fun to play! Well done.
That was awesome! Especially when you get into a rhythm and you mess up and its all like BAAA BAAA BAAA BAA and your all like OH NOOO D: I don't want to know what that monster on the left is planning with that heart floating above his head :S
THIS IS SO COOL, just like the Game & Watch >< Had a ton of fun with this one and thanks for the Android version! really nice to play on the go.
Im relaly glad there are people out there for whom the "old school" is not the synonim of the "pixelart" - this one is a giant bug of nostalgia, and perfect fit for the theme.
Great ! One of my favorite game of this Ludum Dare. Loved how the "basic" sound rythme the game.
Had a blast, thank you !
This game reminds my childhood when I had no money in order to buy a real computer. This was my poor game. You hurt me friend, reminding me this period. But I want honestly evaluate your project. I like it ++
Fantastic. Feels really good on my phone, just like I'm playing an actual game and watch :)
Amazing game! Love the Game & Watch feel and theme throughout the whole thing. The graphics look very well drawn and look like it could have been an actual Game & Watch game. I really enjoyed it!
It reminds me the small games i used to play when i was young really nice.
Cool stuff, cool theme implementation! I got 1224 points in game A.
Sooooo cool!!! Had so many good times playing those kind of games. Great entry!!! Well done!!!
Best use of the theme I've seen so far! The speed it gets to near the end is ridiculously fun, graphics are great and audio makes sense. Solid entry.
Technically while the concept itself was not that innovating, using something like this for this theme was amazing. I was a little bored during Game A, but once I played Game B, I had a blast.
Always been a fan of Game and Watch titles so enjoyed this, could see myself playing this on a watch. Great visuals and simple idea executed really well. Audio also works well in setting the mood.
Hahaha wow this really took me way back to childhood at my cousin's house where they had a couple of these old games. Really great idea for a jam.
I got to 71 points in Game A.
Awesome with the theme! Very retro, nice game! I really liked how everything was already on the screen and then stuff would light up (like an LED screen). Simple yet fun, Great job!
good inspiration and well done.
(do you know "Greek And Wicked" from swing swing submarine?)

NOT LOGGED IN?: If you get a message about not being logged in, even though you are, it’s because your web browser cached the non-logged in page. You can fix this by either refreshing your cache or clearing your cache. CTRL+F5 in many browsers. Chrome is a bit more work. Press F12 to enable Developer Mode, then you can right click on the refresh button and select “Empty Cache and Hard Reload”. This option is unavailable if you are not in Developer Mode.
PORTS: Ports to other platforms can be done after the deadline. That said, the sooner you finish your port, the sooner people can play your game, improving your chances of placing in the final results. For best results, provide a Web version of your game, or a Windows version with no dependencies. Also be sure to rate about 20 games to improve your visibility.
MY GAME DOESN’T SHOW UP: If you can’t find your game, it’s usually because the URL to your downloads are missing ‘http://‘. Fix your URLs (http://mysite.com/mygame.zip) and you will show up. Alternatively, if you just posted it, wait a minute. The cache may not have refreshed yet.
MY GAME CRASHES, IS UNBEATABLE, OR I MADE A TYPO: We allow you to fix crash or win condition bugs after the deadline (in a sense, like “porting” to support more players). We also allow “typo” bugs. I.e. A true that should have been a false, a word that should have been a different word, very tiny changes that you would have caught if you had more sleep. We leave this open to interpretation, but generally speaking your game should be identical to the game you submitted. No new features, just things you messed up last minute. Typos.
This game reminds my childhood, retro style is always the best. :D
