Snowing in the wind

by AwesomeNuclearMonkeys - Jam Entry

First Jam for us, it was fun and we did manage to deliver something kinda enjoyable so hurray!

Snowing in the wind is a 2d maze game with a single level evolving over time.
Help the snowman to reach the red flag and beware of the evil dark snowmen and the awesome monkey bombs!

Controls: arrow keys to move, and that's it.
Hint: the bombs tend to drop close to you, use it against the enemy.

Sound effects are taken from, and music is by Robert del Naja, so we opted out of the audio category.
Everything else by the Awesome Nuclear Monkeys.

Couldn't run it on Win 7 32 bits.
I get the error "The version of this file is imcompatible with your version of Windows. Check if you need a 32 bits or 64 bits version.

I lost it at the you lost screen. Pretty hard though. It looks like the maze generation you used didn't have cycles. Makes avoiding the bad guys kinda difficult if they're in the way.

I really enjoyed this, for some reason it struck a chord with me. Great work for your first jam!

@Florent: windows executable is 64 bit only. I apologize for this issue, but you can still run it if you have python installed. Just download the source code. I'll talk to my partners to see if this issue can be solved.

@ForeignGuyMake: yes, the maze generator prevent cycles. If you're having an hard time with black snowmen try to make them killed by a bomb (bombs spawn at most 3 steps from you, so move close to a black snowman and wait for the bomb)

Thanks you all for your comments!

Certainly not bad, but incredibly difficult. The difficulty is not bad, but I think it's a bit too luck dependent.
After several times of spawning and immediately getting caught by a evil dark snowman, I had to quit. Wouldn't have been so bad if it wouldn't have taken so long to restart.

Pretty hard, but the snomwan sprite is cute :) Liked how you got teased with the simple level at first.

It's looks boring, but it's very funny to play!
Need to get an achievement when killing 5 black snowman at once! :-)

Quite nice game. A bit too hard for me ;) I got trapped by the evil snowmen way to easy. Cool idea.

fun, but glitches at the screen change, and when the bombs spawn you go invisable and can't tell what your doing.

Cool take on the theme, but I found the hit detection to be a bit spotty. Neat game overall!

TEAMS: Teams entering the Jam should pick a single representative to submit your game, or create a team specific account you can share. We currently do not support Team Voting, but sharing an account and together playing and rating games is acceptable.

NOT LOGGED IN?: If you get a message about not being logged in, even though you are, it’s because your web browser cached the non-logged in page. You can fix this by either refreshing your cache or clearing your cache. CTRL+F5 in many browsers. Chrome is a bit more work. Press F12 to enable Developer Mode, then you can right click on the refresh button and select “Empty Cache and Hard Reload”. This option is unavailable if you are not in Developer Mode.

PORTS: Ports to other platforms can be done after the deadline. That said, the sooner you finish your port, the sooner people can play your game, improving your chances of placing in the final results. For best results, provide a Web version of your game, or a Windows version with no dependencies. Also be sure to rate about 20 games to improve your visibility.

MY GAME DOESN’T SHOW UP: If you can’t find your game, it’s usually because the URL to your downloads are missing ‘http://‘. Fix your URLs ( and you will show up. Alternatively, if you just posted it, wait a minute. The cache may not have refreshed yet.

MY GAME CRASHES, IS UNBEATABLE, OR I MADE A TYPO: We allow you to fix crash or win condition bugs after the deadline (in a sense, like “porting” to support more players). We also allow “typo” bugs. I.e. A true that should have been a false, a word that should have been a different word, very tiny changes that you would have caught if you had more sleep. We leave this open to interpretation, but generally speaking your game should be identical to the game you submitted. No new features, just things you messed up last minute. Typos.
