This is mine and my 16 year old daughters first Ludum Dare.
I did the development, using Game Maker Professional. She did the graphics using Gimp and Graphics Gale Free.
Just click on the screen to place a hut while you have wood available.
This is out take on a resource management/Tower Defense game, where the goal is to place resources WHERE they may be destroyed when the volcano god speaks. We fit the theme, because we used one screen for all gameplay, plus we used a pithy name, utilizing wordplay on the theme.

Grats on your 1st Ludum Dare :) I think there's a screen before the game starts but it was too quick to read. Fun game, nicely done.
1. Build houses as fast as you can right where the volcano erupts right when it erupts
2. ??????
3. Success!
it's rough, but the concept is original and has potential to evolve.
That is just an image to show it is part of lundum dare 31. Thank you everyone for the comments.
I had some trouble figuring out what to do in the beginning. It looked like I started getting more wood whenever the fire stream hit a house that I placed, so i started doing that. Came back to to actually read the game description and found that that is the overall goal. Good work and grats on a cool game!
it took a while to get used to sensitive mouse click, but then it started but be a fun, check my little village : https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/65758602/random/all_in_one.png :D
Nice idea, but need to improve the mouse control and to be easy to understand the gameplaying.
A fun twist on the resource management genre, it doesn't have a lot of challenge currently but the idea is worth developing.
@egooze, did you d full screen? The object should be placed with the top left corner where you click the mouse. Do you think center placement would be better? In the time allowed I kept everything default. Thank you for playing my game. I enjoyed your game.
@egooze, I now see what you meant? It is for some reason moving it ten pixels below the mouse LOL. I will fix it after the jam judging ends I have made allot of changes(breeding works now, marriage), you can't place huts in water. I just have to wait until the judging ends to move it up to git and my server.
Certainly a nice concept! Given some extra time, and a little polish, you could have something very snazzy! I like the slightly morbid undertone to the gameplay, too. Very clever!
I love that you guys made the game together. I kept placing more than one hut at once on accident.
@EvantGibbs, thank you for the nice comments. My daughter would never get into IT type activities, even though she would do well in it. She use to come to my work when I coded at a Fortune 200 company. She thought my job was typing and talking to people all day(we had lots of meetings). I wanted he to see the fun is in the thinking, planning, executing, delivering something. It was a good bonding activity, we plan to do a overnight Jam coming up with the Cleveland Game Developers meetup.
I figured out that if you click on the lava as it's erupting you get lots of points and wood, so I eneded up filling the entire screen in huts! A little broken, but simple and fun.
@RobotLovesKitty, fixed that in the new version. I just am waiting to upload after the judging is done. I have marriage working(if two diff gender villagers touch they become a new entity and start breeding. You can not place on water and lava. The world shakes before eruptions, and building now takes time after you click. The wood you get for the building is based on where it is in construction. That way pieces placed during lava give no points. When yu run out of wood you lose a life, three losses game is over...
The spash screen disappears too quickly, so you're left with wondereing what to do. I like the music.

TEAMS: Teams entering the Jam should pick a single representative to submit your game, or create a team specific account you can share. We currently do not support Team Voting, but sharing an account and together playing and rating games is acceptable.
NOT LOGGED IN?: If you get a message about not being logged in, even though you are, it’s because your web browser cached the non-logged in page. You can fix this by either refreshing your cache or clearing your cache. CTRL+F5 in many browsers. Chrome is a bit more work. Press F12 to enable Developer Mode, then you can right click on the refresh button and select “Empty Cache and Hard Reload”. This option is unavailable if you are not in Developer Mode.
PORTS: Ports to other platforms can be done after the deadline. That said, the sooner you finish your port, the sooner people can play your game, improving your chances of placing in the final results. For best results, provide a Web version of your game, or a Windows version with no dependencies. Also be sure to rate about 20 games to improve your visibility.
MY GAME DOESN’T SHOW UP: If you can’t find your game, it’s usually because the URL to your downloads are missing ‘http://‘. Fix your URLs (http://mysite.com/mygame.zip) and you will show up. Alternatively, if you just posted it, wait a minute. The cache may not have refreshed yet.
MY GAME CRASHES, IS UNBEATABLE, OR I MADE A TYPO: We allow you to fix crash or win condition bugs after the deadline (in a sense, like “porting” to support more players). We also allow “typo” bugs. I.e. A true that should have been a false, a word that should have been a different word, very tiny changes that you would have caught if you had more sleep. We leave this open to interpretation, but generally speaking your game should be identical to the game you submitted. No new features, just things you messed up last minute. Typos.
I quite enjoyed the game, although I would like to see a more clear gameplay. Other than that, nice work :)
