Elendow Dungeon

by Elendow - Jam Entry

In Elendow Dungeon you are a wizard closed in a tiny little dungeon. You will be attacked by monsters, and your only objective is to survive as long as possible gathering gems.

At first the idea was to make it multiplayer with the option to kill the other players reflecting the monsters bullets, but there was no time for that.

I like the general feel of the game. I want to make better sprites for character and monsters, add multiplayer, improve the IA, make various layouts for the dungeon and add some different weapons for the players, droppables from the chests.

Hope you like it.

The game looks really really good. I like the lightning effects. It is fun but the attacks could use more feedback.

Good job !

With the new update feedback issue is solved. Also I added sounds and music.

I like it. The lighting's good

This game is awesome! The lighting and graphics are great, and the sound is good too. Sometimes AI gets stuck on things (or maybe just stops moving?). And most of the time there isn't much stopping you from stopping in one spot and firing off shots.

Very good game that could be even better with some more work!

Great graphics and audio. The gameplay could use some tweaking. Would like the fireball distance to be longer.

Game would be so much better with mouse controls for shooting! Very nice graphics.

Dec 9, 2014 @ 12:53am

It is a fun game, and the graphics and sounds are really great. However, I think that the control for aiming is a little awkward - it can be kind of hard to kill the fireball skull enemies (I died before I could find out if there were any other ones with ranged attacks)

The controls felt quite floaty, but I liked it. You don't get a lot of quick paced fighting type games like this in LD. I think some sort of difficulty progression and perhaps more enemies would have been nice, though.

Looks good but it's too dark, hard on my poor old eyes. I also vote yes to mouse for shooting.
Really great start to a really moody dungeon game

It is really pretty, but the controls didn't feel very natural, but the game was well made.

A bit dark for my screen as well, but I like the lightning!

The art, music and effects are pretty cool. The game is fun but it should be way harder.

You should also improve "game-feeling", let the player receive more feedback from the game. When I hit a monster they just stand still, set a different animation for when they get hurt or make them backstep, that would improve the game a lot.

I really like the theme! Also those little green monsters reminded me to porings haha. Well done :)!

Loved the game! (but hating those fire-skulls :P)

Man! how did you made the lightning effect on 2D? is this a 3D shader or what?

Elendow says ...
Dec 11, 2014 @ 8:04pm

You can make the same effect using the Sprite/Diffuse shader of Unity :D

Guys, game is great but controls are really bad, small fire range, player too fast for the size of the room and a can't fire any directions, but foes can

a bit difficult because of the shooting distance.
overall a good game, great graphics! good entry, and can be greatly improved if you continue working on it after the ludum!

This was fun! The graphics were really well done. Dat skull guy. ughh. So hard! He's so powerful! At some point I was hiding from a horde of skull guys and they wouldn't move because they didn't have LOS. Then one of the slimes spawned and pushed the skull to a spot here he could see me. It made me think that it could be interesting if the skull men had limited movement but they could join with the slime to make them join together and be somewhat like they are now.

I dunno. Just a suggestion.

Overall, it's still super cool. Thanks!

Really nice, it was a touch dark on my screen but I loved the visual style. Found it much easier to shoot left/right than up and down for some reason, but it felt responsive otherwise. Music was great too, seemed to have a Zelda vibe to it. :)

Very mysterious looking game. Nice lighting effects! I can see how the level was more intended for multiplayer use, but you still do a good job spawning different types of enemies!

It's a really nice game but it would be better if you use AWSD to move the character and the arrow keys ( or mouse ) to shoot.

Loved the music and the gfx ... just found it a little hard to kill anything. Diagonal bullets might have been nice, still I had fun.

We leave this open to interpretation, but generally speaking your game should be identical to the game you submitted. No new features, just things you messed up last minute. Typos.
