Adventure of Lady Slashalot

by Creative Sectors - Jam Entry

Adventure of Lady Slashalot

Well, start with something interesting. It's Kardfogú here in the colors of the Creative Sectors. This time it's all by myself as our leader is working hard on other projects.

Btw, combat: you grab a sword, figure out which thing it can kill and touch it. If you picked the good sword, the monster will die.

Serious - and short - Description:

Seriously, this is an extremely short RPG-like game thingy where you have to dodge the monsters, grab the sword, kill the right monster with it and then, grab another sword and kill another monster! That's all.

The game has 4 hidden endings, but I'm telling you how to find these so that you can check for yourselves:
#1 Defeat 3 out of the 4 monsters.
#2 Equip a weapon that can't kill the 4th monster.
#3 Walk up to the 4th monster and fail to kill it.
That way you gain an ending in which 3 monsters are dead and the 4th calms down after taking you as a sacrifice. Neighboria is saved, but your fate depends on which monster defeats you.

!SPOILER ALERT! Gallery shows secret endings: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/xlm585zst6wdca0/AACmCfobTkoPKOtFkR9Jfnlja?dl=0

Let's continue with some Anti-Description!

The nextest generation RPG, Adventure of Lady Slashalot brings everyone the realest and fullest RPG experience ever. Released for windows and consoles so new they don't even exist, Adventure of Lady Slashalot continues - actually starts - the Slashalot saga with an epic story to behold.

Play as Princess Slashalot the warrior princess of Neighboria and save the world from legions of monsters by smiting the most powerful foes ever seen in video game history.

Anti-Features:
- Up to 2 minutes of exciting gameplay!
- Wondrous items of might and magic, the game contains as much as 5 different items!
- Slightly underdressed female protagonist!
- Mythologically accurate - that is to say underdressed - female monsters!
- Kinda high quality sounds and music!
- Animated grass, because it's very important!
- Not-so-linear nearly-sandbox-like-ish gameplay!
- Secret endings!
- The base game includes 4 different types of enemies!
- Bonus free holiday DLC included: Mr. Snowman.

Extra special mega-thanks for my grandma for being awesome and feeding me for ~25 years, especially now. She worked hard so that I won't starve to death while developing this game. Not to mention the industrial amount of tea I consumed.

Supreme thanks to Near for slapping mah face virtually, so that I don't give up. Not to mention her help with testing.
Another healthy amount of thanks to Morgoroth who worked a bit as creative staff and the tentacle-supervisor. Yep, the only tentacle monster in the game was his idea. Not mine.
Mega-thanks to XenoDragon - a friend of mine and the leader of Creative Sectors - for this chance to prove myself.

Special thanks to kittens of the world. Kitties are awesome, badass and cute.

Couldn't figure out how to swing a sword once I equipped it...

The game was very enjoyable. The gameplay itself isn't very exciting, but the dialogues make up for it.

The animations and writing were really good. The game was a little basic but the idea was good. Nice work.

Well, it's playable, that much I can say. ;) It was sort of amusing, though there wasn't much to it. At least you came up with something, though!

(Hey, I've got an idea; the 'whisp' is really a lightning elemental, and the sand sword 'grounds' it! Eh? Eh?)

Thank you for your positive feedback!
Naturally I'm the writer of the Creative Sectors, this was an exciting challange for me, drawing and composing as well.

@Chaoseed: Yeah, kinda works like that, it's just a Pokémon joke that Flying type is normally immune to Ground attacks. =^-^=

Very cool story, loved that it had multiple endings! Not gonna lie, I thought the game title was "Adventure of Lady Slashdot"

After killing the snowman I was like "NOOOOO I DIDN'T MEAN TO".

First time it's possible to have multiple virginity inside your inventory :))) hahaha music was weird too... Great :] BTW about java i hate it too ; with Mozilla, to enjoy GameJolt quickplay i had to check "ask me each time", for personal certificates in advanced options. It was working fine until i installed Java 8 to play LD games i think, then i had to do this (once again). Anyway my game's quickplay takes more than 5 minutes to load with java so it's very annoying, getting the .exe is way better.
Cheers ! Hail to your grandma !

That game had some funny moments. I like that it is complete and even has multiple endings (succubus ftw)
Nice writing.

I really hoped you'll like it just as much as liked creating it! I'm sooo happy now! X)

TEAMS: Teams entering the Jam should pick a single representative to submit your game, or create a team specific account you can share. We currently do not support Team Voting, but sharing an account and together playing and rating games is acceptable.

NOT LOGGED IN?: If you get a message about not being logged in, even though you are, it’s because your web browser cached the non-logged in page. You can fix this by either refreshing your cache or clearing your cache. CTRL+F5 in many browsers. Chrome is a bit more work. Press F12 to enable Developer Mode, then you can right click on the refresh button and select “Empty Cache and Hard Reload”. This option is unavailable if you are not in Developer Mode.

PORTS: Ports to other platforms can be done after the deadline. That said, the sooner you finish your port, the sooner people can play your game, improving your chances of placing in the final results. For best results, provide a Web version of your game, or a Windows version with no dependencies. Also be sure to rate about 20 games to improve your visibility.

MY GAME DOESN’T SHOW UP: If you can’t find your game, it’s usually because the URL to your downloads are missing ‘http://‘. Fix your URLs (http://mysite.com/mygame.zip) and you will show up. Alternatively, if you just posted it, wait a minute. The cache may not have refreshed yet.

MY GAME CRASHES, IS UNBEATABLE, OR I MADE A TYPO: We allow you to fix crash or win condition bugs after the deadline (in a sense, like “porting” to support more players). We also allow “typo” bugs. I.e. A true that should have been a false, a word that should have been a different word, very tiny changes that you would have caught if you had more sleep. We leave this open to interpretation, but generally speaking your game should be identical to the game you submitted. No new features, just things you messed up last minute. Typos.
