Warning: This is a horror game and is therefore designed to scare you. Play at your own risk.
Note: After the wee intro thing, it can take several seconds to load.
In Extraterrestrial Confinement you play a scientist whose job is to watch over a creature locked up in your laboratory. Failing to do so will lead to your gruesome and bloody death.
How to play:
To win you have to be alive at 6:00 (the game starts at 1:00). You will see down the right side the monster's stats. The most important one is happiness - if the monster gets too unhappy then it will escape its chamber and tear you apart. Down the left hand side are some buttons. Feed and water increase the creature's hunger and thirst respectively. Experiment, after 10 seconds, will increase your money but also decrease hunger, thirst and happiness. Toggle door will open and close the door behind the monster. Leaving the door closed will slowly drain your money but if you leave it open the monster will attack you earlier.
Water costs 30 dosh.
Food costs 40 dosh.

not bad, though it would have been good to know how much it cost to feed and water the monster.
Scary and nice game. As stated by moldfire, it would have been nice to know the value of food and water :)
Cool idea but the feeding and watering dont seem to do alot. Also i got a bug where it said i won even though i was eaten...? Other than that, cool!
Thanks for all the feedback everyone! I really appreciate it.
To frokes: I intended that feeding and watering had not too much of affect so that the game is not too easy. The bug is due to the fact that the death screen is literally plastered over the top of the game. This means that all the timers continue in the background. If you die very near 6:00 then the death screen may change into the win screen.
To moldfire and frokes: Sorry about that, I didn't realise until I submitted that I never stated the prices in the actual game!
When the loading screen said "Connecting to camera", I was pretty expecting to see my face on the screen in a moment. What I saw surprised me, to say the least. An interesting game. Very creepy, but I'm pretty sure that's intentional.
Haha I missed the beginning and thought that Experiment, Water and Feed were actions that the monster was doing. Thought that was a bit weird.
Scary stuff, great job man.
It has a great mood despite the simplicity of the graphics. That breathing... :O
Gameplay is a tad confusing tbh.
Interesting take on this relatively recent genre. The sounds are super creepy. Good job!
Nice little, I like the idea of the horror tamagotchi game.
Good job.
Good idea - some more variations (like the outcome of the experiments) would be great.
Well done!
was hard to remember how to play during the game, like what everything cost. great mood though.
what the hell did I just play!? Very interested and messed up that it's actually fun. The graphics make it really funny. I just didn't understand where I could see how much money I got to feed it.

TEAMS: Teams entering the Jam should pick a single representative to submit your game, or create a team specific account you can share. We currently do not support Team Voting, but sharing an account and together playing and rating games is acceptable.
NOT LOGGED IN?: If you get a message about not being logged in, even though you are, it’s because your web browser cached the non-logged in page. You can fix this by either refreshing your cache or clearing your cache. CTRL+F5 in many browsers. Chrome is a bit more work. Press F12 to enable Developer Mode, then you can right click on the refresh button and select “Empty Cache and Hard Reload”. This option is unavailable if you are not in Developer Mode.
PORTS: Ports to other platforms can be done after the deadline. That said, the sooner you finish your port, the sooner people can play your game, improving your chances of placing in the final results. For best results, provide a Web version of your game, or a Windows version with no dependencies. Also be sure to rate about 20 games to improve your visibility.
MY GAME DOESN’T SHOW UP: If you can’t find your game, it’s usually because the URL to your downloads are missing ‘http://‘. Fix your URLs (http://mysite.com/mygame.zip) and you will show up. Alternatively, if you just posted it, wait a minute. The cache may not have refreshed yet.
MY GAME CRASHES, IS UNBEATABLE, OR I MADE A TYPO: We allow you to fix crash or win condition bugs after the deadline (in a sense, like “porting” to support more players). We also allow “typo” bugs. I.e. A true that should have been a false, a word that should have been a different word, very tiny changes that you would have caught if you had more sleep. We leave this open to interpretation, but generally speaking your game should be identical to the game you submitted. No new features, just things you messed up last minute. Typos.
this breathing... im scared :D
