This is my first entry for Ludum Dare. I used Dart (for the first time aswell), Gimp, Sfxr for the "No fuel" sound, Windows Audio Recorder for the flying sounds (it's voice acted), Vim, Debian. Because this is the first time of me using Dart (or HTML5 game dev in general) the game isn't very performance optimized. I have experienced crashes in Firefox. Sorry for that. The game was tested and developed in Chromium.
Controls
W, A, S, D: Move chopper (You can slow down the chopper by pressing the opposite direction)
Enter: Open water tank
E: Start / Land chopper
Goal
Extinguish all fires. Watch out: The chopper only has a limited amount of fuel. Land on the start building to refuel.
Get water by the lake. Make sure the water tank is filled to 100% (use the display on the right bottom corner) before you try to extinguish fire with it.
Remember: The entire game is on one screen, if the chooper flies out of the screen, you have to navigate blind.
Don't worry, the fires stop to respawn after a while.
Have fun and good luck!

Cool thing! I'm glad you decided to participate. Love the programmer art and especially the sound. ;)
If you give the game a shot and think the fire is never going to end - give it a bit more time.
Looks fun, but runs really choppy (ha!). And the fires don't seem to extinguish after opening the tank and flying forward even though there's still water in the tank.
Thanks for all the comments so far. I really appreciate it.

Great that you decided to participate, this is a great way to improve your game creation skills!
I would suggest not letting the player move off screen at all, right now if you disappear offscreen you have no point of reference, and don't know if you're moving back towards the screen or away from it.
I would also have added in some friction, causing the chopper to stop after some time if you stop holding the forward arrow.
I like the programmer art and good use of sound too!
I liked the concept and nice sounds :) The controls are bad though which makes this game less fun than it could've been I had the same issue the last LD myself. Keep it up.
Cool idea but very klunky controls. Water tank seems to empty all of its contents without effecting anything beyond first splash. Overall fun and good use of theme.
The idea is good as well as sounds. Controls are not very intuitive and the copter fly away from the screen so it's hard to get back.
Controls are weird but the game is cool. Lost myself a few times when the I went offscreen.
Congrats on your game. I lost precious seconds trying to resize the game view and then go lost out of screen for a while >_<
Not bad.
Not best.
But cute and cool x)
if you have time also check my "weird tower defense" :-D
I'm pretty bad at piloting helicopters, thats sure. Nice game, but it looks hard from my experience.
Not bad idea, but controls not suitable for one screen gameplay. Also, "one screen" is the theme, not the rule.
The controls feel strange at the start but I got used to it. Btw, 480s to extinguish a fire makes me the worst chopper pilot in the history of firemen.
What a programmer art :D
I was entertained by how I always managed to somehow fly out of screen :P
Interesting game, but it'd be better if the chopper was a little more responsive.
Nice game. Would be worth exploring post jam with a bigger scale. Choplifter was one of my favorite Super NES games and this would be a great take on that, fighting wildfires instead of missles and guns. Congrats :)
Overall a good game. With some adjustment on the timing the fire spread, the tank refill and the fuel burn, it can be a fun challenge instead of just waiting the fire stop to spread.
Neat little game! Controls are tough but fun once you get the hang of it! Well done!
Hi there. Interesting idea. Managed to put out a few fires, but pretty impossible to stop fire filling the woods. More generosity, at the start at least, would be nice.
Well done It DID make me want to play it once i got the hang of it. I would like to see the UI placed ON the chopper itself ALSO my biggest criticism The water should dump on the fire the ENTIRE time the gauge is draining.
The art could use a bit more work and a way to restart without reloading the browser would be preferable. Audio was good, and the whole concept is innovative.
Interesting game, a bit hard to control but easier by just turning slightly the helicopter when getting water and just repeating. Nice concept.

NOT LOGGED IN?: If you get a message about not being logged in, even though you are, it’s because your web browser cached the non-logged in page. You can fix this by either refreshing your cache or clearing your cache. CTRL+F5 in many browsers. Chrome is a bit more work. Press F12 to enable Developer Mode, then you can right click on the refresh button and select “Empty Cache and Hard Reload”. This option is unavailable if you are not in Developer Mode.
PORTS: Ports to other platforms can be done after the deadline. That said, the sooner you finish your port, the sooner people can play your game, improving your chances of placing in the final results. For best results, provide a Web version of your game, or a Windows version with no dependencies. Also be sure to rate about 20 games to improve your visibility.
MY GAME DOESN’T SHOW UP: If you can’t find your game, it’s usually because the URL to your downloads are missing ‘http://‘. Fix your URLs (http://mysite.com/mygame.zip) and you will show up. Alternatively, if you just posted it, wait a minute. The cache may not have refreshed yet.
MY GAME CRASHES, IS UNBEATABLE, OR I MADE A TYPO: We allow you to fix crash or win condition bugs after the deadline (in a sense, like “porting” to support more players). We also allow “typo” bugs. I.e. A true that should have been a false, a word that should have been a different word, very tiny changes that you would have caught if you had more sleep. We leave this open to interpretation, but generally speaking your game should be identical to the game you submitted. No new features, just things you messed up last minute. Typos.
Looks really cool, gameplay is cool too.
