The Agency

by Democritus - Jam Entry

Use left- and right-arrow and A/D to move left or right. Press space to jump. We suggest you play the downloadable version. Either way, don't give up if you're stuck.

Jane is what the Agency calls an 'Underground guardian'.
She has her own word for it, which is rather less PG.
It's her job to check for problems in the Underground
railway. Though what those might be is anyone's guess.

Until one day she finds an unexpected hole that might
take her deeper than anyone has ever gone, and show her
things that might be hidden for a reason.

Very atmospheric, I enjoyed the story and voice-over :) Controls were a bit weird though - sometimes got stuck in tight areas and would have to mash jump before it would let me proceed, and jumping didn't work all the time.

Not sure about the aim? What is the game about? Just going deeper? Randomly walking left or right? Anyways, nice Graphic-style, great music and a tense atmossphere :)

Well if you go down for a while you'll find out what it's about. Might be that we placed that a bit too far down but nothing I can do about it now.

It was really interesting to be guided by your voice, and the world was really mysterious. Then when voice stopped I felt a little scared, but I continue to go because I wanted to see what is below there. I got stuck at the first doors I believe, I cannot find the key, and I am type of player that doesn't take walkthroughs for solutions. Anyway, awesome job, I would love to see more !

Amazing game. I loved the use of the theme. I am sad that you took so long to introduce it, since it seems like some people won't give enough time to figure it out.

Yeah, this is one of the things I think was a bit of a mistake. We should have gotten the player there quicker, and with fewer dead-ends.

Also the dead-ends were supposed to provide audio entertainment but we didn't really get to put anything there.

Nice game, maybe a little too long. I was about to give up until I found out Esc was a map, you should put that somewhere.
The music can get a bit repetitive, but not very fast. And some voice lines are too long.

TEAMS: Teams entering the Jam should pick a single representative to submit your game, or create a team specific account you can share. We currently do not support Team Voting, but sharing an account and together playing and rating games is acceptable.

NOT LOGGED IN?: If you get a message about not being logged in, even though you are, it’s because your web browser cached the non-logged in page. You can fix this by either refreshing your cache or clearing your cache. CTRL+F5 in many browsers. Chrome is a bit more work. Press F12 to enable Developer Mode, then you can right click on the refresh button and select “Empty Cache and Hard Reload”. This option is unavailable if you are not in Developer Mode.

PORTS: Ports to other platforms can be done after the deadline. That said, the sooner you finish your port, the sooner people can play your game, improving your chances of placing in the final results. For best results, provide a Web version of your game, or a Windows version with no dependencies. Also be sure to rate about 20 games to improve your visibility.

MY GAME DOESN’T SHOW UP: If you can’t find your game, it’s usually because the URL to your downloads are missing ‘http://‘. Fix your URLs ( and you will show up. Alternatively, if you just posted it, wait a minute. The cache may not have refreshed yet.

MY GAME CRASHES, IS UNBEATABLE, OR I MADE A TYPO: We allow you to fix crash or win condition bugs after the deadline (in a sense, like “porting” to support more players). We also allow “typo” bugs. I.e. A true that should have been a false, a word that should have been a different word, very tiny changes that you would have caught if you had more sleep. We leave this open to interpretation, but generally speaking your game should be identical to the game you submitted. No new features, just things you messed up last minute. Typos.
