[Post Compo Development]
Please Try the post comp version also as I am trying to develop this game more I want to make it a fully fledged game. Currently the hack feature works a bit better and I am going to be adding help and scrolling screen soon. Then I am planning on adding connecting to servers and actually being able to copy files and stuff to get money from missions. It is going to be cool! I may end up changing the interface I would like some feedback on how much the dusty screen and faded corners actually improve the game or would it be better to just have it be a screen of text no silly monitor view?

[Personal Background]
I set out to make a little multiplayer hacking sim.

I got most of the back end in to do it too but I just did not have enough time so I quickly through in a little random hack mechanic for the compo submission. It is in fact running off of the a server and actually playing via it and is server authoritative and saving player data... but that's about it...

Last Compo I did LD29 I bit off way more then I could chew this time though I only bit off a little more.

[Notes]
* The game is largely not finished but I did give it some functionality and so it is playable I need to iron out a couple more bugs though.
* Sorry everyone that I could not do more.
* I did how ever stream every moment of dev to this exact point infact I am streaming as I type this out :D !

[Edits]
{edit} Forgot the code it is at https://github.com/Eforen/LundumDare31
{edit} I think I have smashed all the bugs!
{edit} Updated path moving game to a subdirectory so that I can work on finishing another version.

It's always down to the wire for me. Stuff always gets left out.

I couldn't input a space, so I couldn't get any further than typing in 'hack'.

I like the idea behind it and would love to see this fleshed out, but it really doesn't seem implemented at all (unless I'm missing something). Only thing I could do was register and type in hack (spacebar doesn't even work, so I couldn't target IPs).

Pretty Cool. but couldn't do anything but hack all

Couldn't input space either, as a improvements list of commands and screen scrolling would be nice.
However, nice to see hacking game :)

BlackBulletIV Unfortunately it is really really fleshed out I am planing to try to flesh it out more for ether the Jam or just for fun. (There is a little secret about the current state... Type Secret into the cmd to find out what... Warning it is a huge spoiler!)

Evergreen Games: Unfortunately that is all I had time for after programming all the subsystems and stuff given a few more hours I would have had so much more I plan to shift the compo version off to its own directory and then have another version that I work on more. Get the interactions between users and the missions and stuff!

Jaenis: Fixed the space input problem. as to the list of commands it is as follows: hack, secret, and ... nothing... I ran out of time...

The lack of screen scrolling hampers gameplay, but I like the concept and the online component. I didn't have any luck guessing any passwords, but that's all on me!

I wanted to like this but the "ur so 1337 pwn the intertubes" stuff grated on me so bad that I gave up to prevent my eyes from becoming stuck rolled backwards.

Hi there. Nice user interface, just needs the game really... Hacked an ip and got some money... but I think it was a bit easy to do ;)

In the future we'll only use DOS interfaces.

Nice interpretation of the theme, the dirt on the screen itself adds a lot to the mood. Compo version I managed to hack some random IPs, post compo version the game hangs after registering (on 'Connecting...'), then resets with without registering the login. Is there a fix?

TEAMS: Teams entering the Jam should pick a single representative to submit your game, or create a team specific account you can share. We currently do not support Team Voting, but sharing an account and together playing and rating games is acceptable.

NOT LOGGED IN?: If you get a message about not being logged in, even though you are, it’s because your web browser cached the non-logged in page. You can fix this by either refreshing your cache or clearing your cache. CTRL+F5 in many browsers. Chrome is a bit more work. Press F12 to enable Developer Mode, then you can right click on the refresh button and select “Empty Cache and Hard Reload”. This option is unavailable if you are not in Developer Mode.

PORTS: Ports to other platforms can be done after the deadline. That said, the sooner you finish your port, the sooner people can play your game, improving your chances of placing in the final results. For best results, provide a Web version of your game, or a Windows version with no dependencies. Also be sure to rate about 20 games to improve your visibility.

MY GAME DOESN’T SHOW UP: If you can’t find your game, it’s usually because the URL to your downloads are missing ‘http://‘. Fix your URLs (http://mysite.com/mygame.zip) and you will show up. Alternatively, if you just posted it, wait a minute. The cache may not have refreshed yet.

MY GAME CRASHES, IS UNBEATABLE, OR I MADE A TYPO: We allow you to fix crash or win condition bugs after the deadline (in a sense, like “porting” to support more players). We also allow “typo” bugs. I.e. A true that should have been a false, a word that should have been a different word, very tiny changes that you would have caught if you had more sleep. We leave this open to interpretation, but generally speaking your game should be identical to the game you submitted. No new features, just things you messed up last minute. Typos.
