Furious Rush

by eusekerci - Compo Entry

***READ CONTROLS SECTION BELOW***

I made a 2 player/co-op game. One player is hunter, and the other escapes until he/she collects the rune. When hunt collects the rune, roles are swapped.

Tried to build network but it was my first try, didnt work it. Maybe I'll give an update with online playing feature later :)

For much fun play with this :D http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zuL687HGfjI
I'm glad if you give feedbacks via comments or via twitter @eusekerci

It wasn't very fun.... it feels like a 2 player game

that might be because it is, shubshub ;). simple, but it was fun to finally pin someone down as the hunter.

I really like this. It's rough around the edges now but those mechanics have loads of potential and I'd love to see them with full polish.
I suggest putting a bit more description of the shooting mechanic into this page, because it wasn't immediately obvious and one previous commenter seems to think it was a bug.

Visual style is not very beautiful, but the game itself is enjoyable.

Advice: Making a 2 players game for a game jam it's not the best choice :/

2 Player games are hard to rate just because its not very common people are rating these games "with" someone to give it a fair rating. That being said this is a pretty fun game, i wish the map moved and there was audio to help sell victory and defeat, but is a great attempt!

Kudos for trying to add network support! :)

Aha, I couldn't shoot because only one player can shoot at a time :)

The idea is very nice, but the controls are too responsive for the small maze. Next time make the space between the walls a bit bigger maybe?

The graphical style keeps the screen really clear, so your and your enemy's movements are easy to follow.

Well done!

@Drtizzle thanks for giving a second chance :)

My main feature is "hunt & hunter" system, only one of them is shooting while other is escaping.

I'm thinking about take a larger maze too. Maybe I would work on controls a bit first, for clear gameplaying. Then built a network, 1vs1 or 4 players free for all.

Thanks all for comments

Interesting idea for a multiplayer game; I like the color-shift mechanic. Would be better if the "hunted" player was a little more obvious; right now it is not directly obvious why 1 player can shoot, but the other cannot.

This is old-school! I like it. But, there's definitely more that could be done here to make it a bit juicy! Good job, anyway.

Hi there. Not rated yet. On Chrome/W8.1 I get error "failed to download data file" in Unity loading panel.

@mrexcessive I tried it on several computers and it works. It must be an error about Unity Web Plugin or your browser.

Nice game mechanics, sometimes you get stuck on corners, it would be nice to have something like a grid correction to avoid it.

TEAMS: Teams entering the Jam should pick a single representative to submit your game, or create a team specific account you can share. We currently do not support Team Voting, but sharing an account and together playing and rating games is acceptable.

NOT LOGGED IN?: If you get a message about not being logged in, even though you are, it’s because your web browser cached the non-logged in page. You can fix this by either refreshing your cache or clearing your cache. CTRL+F5 in many browsers. Chrome is a bit more work. Press F12 to enable Developer Mode, then you can right click on the refresh button and select “Empty Cache and Hard Reload”. This option is unavailable if you are not in Developer Mode.

PORTS: Ports to other platforms can be done after the deadline. That said, the sooner you finish your port, the sooner people can play your game, improving your chances of placing in the final results. For best results, provide a Web version of your game, or a Windows version with no dependencies. Also be sure to rate about 20 games to improve your visibility.

MY GAME DOESN’T SHOW UP: If you can’t find your game, it’s usually because the URL to your downloads are missing ‘http://‘. Fix your URLs (http://mysite.com/mygame.zip) and you will show up. Alternatively, if you just posted it, wait a minute. The cache may not have refreshed yet.

MY GAME CRASHES, IS UNBEATABLE, OR I MADE A TYPO: We allow you to fix crash or win condition bugs after the deadline (in a sense, like “porting” to support more players). We also allow “typo” bugs. I.e. A true that should have been a false, a word that should have been a different word, very tiny changes that you would have caught if you had more sleep. We leave this open to interpretation, but generally speaking your game should be identical to the game you submitted. No new features, just things you messed up last minute. Typos.
