I like this, the music contrasted with slaughtering reindeer made it pretty funny
I liked the intro. Some funny physics though, one time santa decided he was a spacerocket.
It might just be me, but I'd like the option to shoot with the keyboard, or jump with the up arrow/W.
Really liked the audio and graphics. Well done. :)
48 Kills I am the best. Great music :) Really tied in with the game the best part was probably finding all the guns I could play with too kill all those reindeer also just like to mention there are 8 reindeer and there seemed to be many in that game xD Lots of fun!Loved the whole reindeers on strike thing great idea. Played on stream http://www.twitch.tv/integershift
Just great mood and feeling. it's so piecefull to play around with your little santa and killing beautiful deers :) 5/5
This makes me happy. And also a bit sad. Nicely done for 8 hours especially!
I feel the game has no strategy behind it. Or more correctly, I feel the strategy is either "play like Leeroy Jenkins" or "exploit the platforms and random guns to kill reindeers forever." It's just not fun.
Despite hearing that you are making a post compo version, I'm going to judge you for the current version here that you have. This is a good game that has a lot of potential, and honestly, I'm not a big fan of Christmas. However, I did enjoy playing this game while I could. The biggest problems I encountered are as you know the mouse controls, the fact that you have to click on santa everytime you want to shoot is a bit of pain considering how often you have to move around. The music and the graphics were really well designed for the short span of time you had to work on this. Good work and I can't wait to see the post compo version.
Love the graphics and the game! I Included it in part 11 of my Ludum Dare 31 compilation video series, if you would like to check it out :) http://youtu.be/09kdLS-s81I
You did a really good job on this. Your color palette is really good, it's quite humorous, the music, sound and visual effects are really nice. It's satisfyingly violent without gore or anything.
I really liked the guns, and the randomness of the guns, but I felt the way they were dispensed was quite unbalanced. Nothing was under-powered, perse, but I felt that a lot of the guns I was getting were OVER powered. I could see how someone might play and end up with very weak guns, which would give them a far lower score (I managed to get to 151 kills). This definitely needs work, though it's not purposeful fake difficulty. This is just something you need to work on to ensure it's working on all levels.
I did eventually understand that the elf indicated when I ran out of ammo (maybe you could make that more clear), but I felt it was a little distracting and difficult to go to the elf on the roof, and jump off the roof and back into the fray without a break in flow. Perhaps you could have the elf throwing things off a higher platform, that you'd have to catch down below?
Either way, I'll try your post-LD builds as well to see what you've done recently. Good job! :) Really well done!
I liked your game. I know the post compo version is better, but i liked the mood of the compo version more.
The game felt a bit bland. The guns didn't feel very good, the SFX and knockback they deserved was almost entirely absent. I'd recommend analyzing the guns in Super Crate Box and maybe some FPSs.
It would be cool if the player had the choice of shooting in one direction or both. Double the firepower if you shoot in one direction at the cost of defense on the opposite end. Maybe even double the knockback so you risk throwing yourself into enemies.

NOT LOGGED IN?: If you get a message about not being logged in, even though you are, it’s because your web browser cached the non-logged in page. You can fix this by either refreshing your cache or clearing your cache. CTRL+F5 in many browsers. Chrome is a bit more work. Press F12 to enable Developer Mode, then you can right click on the refresh button and select “Empty Cache and Hard Reload”. This option is unavailable if you are not in Developer Mode.
PORTS: Ports to other platforms can be done after the deadline. That said, the sooner you finish your port, the sooner people can play your game, improving your chances of placing in the final results. For best results, provide a Web version of your game, or a Windows version with no dependencies. Also be sure to rate about 20 games to improve your visibility.
MY GAME DOESN’T SHOW UP: If you can’t find your game, it’s usually because the URL to your downloads are missing ‘http://‘. Fix your URLs (http://mysite.com/mygame.zip) and you will show up. Alternatively, if you just posted it, wait a minute. The cache may not have refreshed yet.
MY GAME CRASHES, IS UNBEATABLE, OR I MADE A TYPO: We allow you to fix crash or win condition bugs after the deadline (in a sense, like “porting” to support more players). We also allow “typo” bugs. I.e. A true that should have been a false, a word that should have been a different word, very tiny changes that you would have caught if you had more sleep. We leave this open to interpretation, but generally speaking your game should be identical to the game you submitted. No new features, just things you messed up last minute. Typos.
Absolutely wacky and amazing, nicely done. Maybe a tad on the violent side. :P
