Bounds of Space is an Asteroids clone on steroids. Pick one of three classes of space ships and battle endless waves of asteroids. Since the game is set in one screen, if you fly out of bounds - you're dead.
Plenty of power ups and upgrades for Health and Shields to keep the game going and going! Once you're certain you got the best score - submit to the online leaderboard and see how you stack up!
The game was built in Construct 2, with content built in Construct 2, Photoshop CC, and Reaper DAW. SFX provided by BFXR.net. The online leaderboard was built using C2's AJAX functionality with a backend written in Laravel 4/PHP5 and MySQL.

Okay game, and made it to the 5th place on the leaderboard - I assume I will be pushed out real soon.
davient - Thanks for the comment. I've come to realize that the version live at the URL I provided is not the version depicted in the screenshots. It includes sounds! I'll update later on today - hopefully it doesn't impact the rules.
Okay, I had the source in Google Drive so I've reuploaded the game at work. If you've played before give your cache a clear and open and reload the URLs provided.
Dang, I was pleasantly surprised at this game! simple but well made and great graphics. Have 4th place on leaderboard
Love the lighting effects! Splitting the game into "levels" might give more of a feeling of progress. The gameplay is really smooth but the game starts to feel same-y after a bit.
Simple but fun. I think it would be much more fun if you added some more content and mechanics to set it apart from the other asteroid-like games.
Pretty cool progression in this and the different ship classes are nice. The Sentinel missile firing has a really good feel to it, especially once I got 'x2' firing...great work!
I feel like health/shield restores spawn too often. I could make many mistakes and not get punished for them.
I found the momentum a little difficult to manage and often sailed straight past power-ups, but I though the game was well put together. Good job.
I didn't get the "on steroids" part, it just felt like a pretty generic asteroids clone. I really think you need to screen wrapping to push the asteroids feel. I thought it was a solid game but I got bored after a few minutes and crashed my ship on purpose. Really nice having online leaderboards!
The shadows was really cool! Liked that you could choose from different ships. =)
classic game but shadow effect give it a cool mood. A leaderboard is rare and cool in a ld entry.
great fun here. Can't beat the classics, but a little bit of innovation would've been nice. Great controls, great sound, great effort overall. nice work
Cool mate. I felt like it was easy to control. Nothing annoyed me just cruisy gameplay.
Fun little Asteroids clone - it was a little too easy, I think. It felt like my score was limited by my stamina, not necessarily by my skill. Still, I enjoyed the experience. =)
Highscore #1? I guess I'm really good at cheating.
I really liked your game and had quite a lot of fun playing it.
Glad you enjoyed the game. Highscore positions on the leaderboard are reserved for ethical players only, sorry.
Hi there. Nice smooth and slick asteroid clone. Generous powerups, shield nice touch. Great sounds. Good job!
Simple, but cool game. The different classes add some extra fun. I did notice that it starting lagging a bit on my machine when there were lots of asteroids, but that could just be me.
I like the old school style, it reminds me of a mix of r-type and asteroid
Very interesting! Feel like it could be more difficult, maybe even a one hit dead system. Different classes add fun variety.

TEAMS: Teams entering the Jam should pick a single representative to submit your game, or create a team specific account you can share. We currently do not support Team Voting, but sharing an account and together playing and rating games is acceptable.
NOT LOGGED IN?: If you get a message about not being logged in, even though you are, it’s because your web browser cached the non-logged in page. You can fix this by either refreshing your cache or clearing your cache. CTRL+F5 in many browsers. Chrome is a bit more work. Press F12 to enable Developer Mode, then you can right click on the refresh button and select “Empty Cache and Hard Reload”. This option is unavailable if you are not in Developer Mode.
PORTS: Ports to other platforms can be done after the deadline. That said, the sooner you finish your port, the sooner people can play your game, improving your chances of placing in the final results. For best results, provide a Web version of your game, or a Windows version with no dependencies. Also be sure to rate about 20 games to improve your visibility.
MY GAME DOESN’T SHOW UP: If you can’t find your game, it’s usually because the URL to your downloads are missing ‘http://‘. Fix your URLs (http://mysite.com/mygame.zip) and you will show up. Alternatively, if you just posted it, wait a minute. The cache may not have refreshed yet.
MY GAME CRASHES, IS UNBEATABLE, OR I MADE A TYPO: We allow you to fix crash or win condition bugs after the deadline (in a sense, like “porting” to support more players). We also allow “typo” bugs. I.e. A true that should have been a false, a word that should have been a different word, very tiny changes that you would have caught if you had more sleep. We leave this open to interpretation, but generally speaking your game should be identical to the game you submitted. No new features, just things you messed up last minute. Typos.
Second on High score sheet Yay! Like the development on Asteroids. Sound wasn't working on the Web Player.
