Life sim under the seas !
Explanations : http://ludumdare.com/compo/2014/12/08/osthers-fishers-compo-entry-explanations/
----
EXPLANATIONS
----
The top left structure contains male seeds, and the top right contains female seeds.
Each seed contains genes about specy1(fisher) and specy2(oshter) at random purcentages. Male seeds scan for female seeds and go to them.
When both seeds fuse, the foetus has multiple stages of growth with different image for each. Then a fisher or osther has bornt with it's own weight.
Then both species feed on each other, bigger (more weight) fishes eat smaller fishes and grow after meal.
----
CONTROLS
----
Arrow keys to move, go to the top structures to get new seeds and press space bar to release them whereever you want !
----
MADE WITH
----
Construct2, Alchemy/Mulab, Sprite.
----
REGRETS!
----
I was planning to have modular design with multiple genes for appareance of the fish, but no time to do that, blame my gf !

This sound is wonderful. The most powerful part of you game imo. The graphics are neat, but (and thats probably cause of the sound), the atmosphere tops it.
All in all it also seems very polished for the short time.
I kinda would have liked to see a bigger variety of fishes :)
Good job!
Great looking and sounding bio-sim. Would be cool if you had boids like shoaling and a basic fox/rabbit/carrot population simulation.
I loved the graphics and music, you certanly created a beautiful atmosphere here. The game was a bit confusing though, but pretty interesting overall, good job!
I love the art style and the game mechanics! Really interesting concept! So innovative!
Loved the chilled vibe and experimental experience. Would love to have seen more variety, and have more different interactions between fish. But in 48 hours there is only so much time :) great job
omg I like this "Game of Life", great idea, graphics and sounds !
Thanks for that man !
I love the pace, art and the mood, but don't get how to play it =(
hello, thanks for the comments so far!
Here are some explanations : http://ludumdare.com/compo/2014/12/08/osthers-fishers-compo-entry-explanations/
Cool atmosphere, but actually it is not a game, but something like interactive screensaver.
Nice an relaxing atmosphere, though the adult(ish) fish are maybe a bit stylistically out of place for the nice sounds. The fish also seem to swim backwards/upside down :P
This game is just... calming. Probably because of the music. I never thought I'd actually enjoy watching a creature grow from a child to an adult XD. Great job on the game!
Nice art and sfx but couldnt really figure out what was going on, ive created some monsters but no thing else.
What should i do ?? Good ambiance, gfx+sound are greate
Nice and interesting concept. Cool graphics and music. Shame you couldn't finish.
Amazing graphics and music, really nice and soothing! I created a little world of crazy evil looking fish. I would NOT want to go swimming around there!
Great atmosphere, only not sure if it is a game in this point of development. Shame on you mrs gf! It is a great job, anyway, with awesome aesthetics and music. Love it.
Interesting concept. Very nice mood to the game, the music is very relaxing. It seemed that the fish all faced straight down for quite a long time, now most of them are upside-down. Also they all seem to be sitting in the corners of the screen. Would be nice if the fish swum about.
I like your "seed" idea at the start!
Would be interesting to have the fish swim around a bit more.
Graphics and music are really good
A composition detail also : the big black masses on the foreground are maybe too visually invasive
I would be interested to see a more complete version of it, with the features you talk about implemented
Great graphics and good mood thanks to music. The gameplay is a bit lacking, and without reading your guide outside the game, it's unclear what to do.
Lovely graphics. I have no idea what to do, but it was very peaceful!
Great and pleasant atmosphere, really relaxing. Gameplay-wise, a little strange.
Hi there. Like the sea monkey sim. Made me think of South Park, was expecting small kingdom ;( Lovely look and feel, nice underwater soundtrack also. Good job!
Yay, a sim about alien fish reproduction! The graphics and audio are excellent.
It took me a while to figure out what was going on, but I didn't care because it looked so good and felt so soothing. This game looks and sounds great. Good job.
I really liked the ecosystem concept.
With some feedbacks to make player understand that they carry/release seeds, this game would be great.
Just add some feedbacks! :) Your game deserves it!
You clearly put a lot into the atmosphere (visuals/audio). I just wish there were more to do.
Calm & soothing. Good graphics & audio. Game got choppy after I spawned a crazy amount of seeds, though. Might put a limit on that. I like this game.
This looks and sounds amazing, great atmosphere. Just couldn't figure out what to do.

TEAMS: Teams entering the Jam should pick a single representative to submit your game, or create a team specific account you can share. We currently do not support Team Voting, but sharing an account and together playing and rating games is acceptable.
NOT LOGGED IN?: If you get a message about not being logged in, even though you are, it’s because your web browser cached the non-logged in page. You can fix this by either refreshing your cache or clearing your cache. CTRL+F5 in many browsers. Chrome is a bit more work. Press F12 to enable Developer Mode, then you can right click on the refresh button and select “Empty Cache and Hard Reload”. This option is unavailable if you are not in Developer Mode.
PORTS: Ports to other platforms can be done after the deadline. That said, the sooner you finish your port, the sooner people can play your game, improving your chances of placing in the final results. For best results, provide a Web version of your game, or a Windows version with no dependencies. Also be sure to rate about 20 games to improve your visibility.
MY GAME DOESN’T SHOW UP: If you can’t find your game, it’s usually because the URL to your downloads are missing ‘http://‘. Fix your URLs (http://mysite.com/mygame.zip) and you will show up. Alternatively, if you just posted it, wait a minute. The cache may not have refreshed yet.
MY GAME CRASHES, IS UNBEATABLE, OR I MADE A TYPO: We allow you to fix crash or win condition bugs after the deadline (in a sense, like “porting” to support more players). We also allow “typo” bugs. I.e. A true that should have been a false, a word that should have been a different word, very tiny changes that you would have caught if you had more sleep. We leave this open to interpretation, but generally speaking your game should be identical to the game you submitted. No new features, just things you messed up last minute. Typos.
no idea what i was doing but it's serene and the graphics and sound are fantastic.
