Le Voleur

by LuisGuimaraes - Compo Entry

You're an art thief trying to dodge a distracted security guard staring at the cameras (kinda...).

Get in, steal the goods and get out!

Controls are explained in the game, everything else is meant to be figured out.

Made in Unity 4.x Free.

Very cool game, I love the concept and how it fits with the theme! The game is a bit hard, I haven't been able to win yet.

Fun :D
I like how you played the theme, because this game is running at one screen in real life but several screens in the game! Awesome idea!
And it requires contentration and a bit strategy too.
Good game!

This is hilariously awesome!
I love it! Great job! It was confusing at first, but after I figured out how to play it I enjoyed it a lot!

Very good concept.
At first I was confused a bit. It looks like the guard is main hero and you control him. It takes a while to figure out how to play.
It requires strategy. Good game :)

Hey eyokfa, thanks for the kinda words! :D

Let me try to calc, I started Saturday 11AM to 4PM, got the scene corrupted in a crash caused by a pendrive while the engine was open :( and then remade it from 9PM to 11PM (still had all the assets, ufffa :D), then today I polished stuff here and there from 8AM to maybe 3PM, and some sparse fixes and tweaks based on feedback till now. So around 11 to 13 hours of actual work I guess.

Good work! It was kind of confusing at first until I got the hang of it. It would be nice to be able to lose the guard's attention by hiding out of sight.

You can hide out of sight in the blindspots between the colors :D Or in the other side of the screen but the guard won't look down when he's on yellow alert. It fades quickly though.

It was hard to understand how to control it (and you can't see main character at first). Graphic looks nice and idea is good too.

Hi there. Really fun idea. Bookmarked for a relook. Kept getting caught half-way through yellow.

What an extremely obnoxious alarm sound =X

Quite difficult! I think I get the concept but it was pretty difficult to know how far I could advance, there was very little space "in between" screens...

It was sometimes too hard to hide away once the guard had the question mark, I couldn't finish the game.

Art is solid despite the lack of animation, it is very consistent and in tune with the mood of the game.

Sound was a little bit repetitive, but that might have been just me being bad at the game.

It's overall a good entry, could become a fun game if worked on a bit more. It's also a cool interpretation of the theme.

Good job!

Really cool idea use of theme, but dang is it tough! I love that the guard is playing a tablet game as a way to provide additional distraction and opportunity. Well done!

Very awesome concept, oddly difficult to hide between camera screen though which is why I could never win :(

Guess I'm not cut out for the life of crime!

TEAMS: Teams entering the Jam should pick a single representative to submit your game, or create a team specific account you can share. We currently do not support Team Voting, but sharing an account and together playing and rating games is acceptable.

NOT LOGGED IN?: If you get a message about not being logged in, even though you are, it’s because your web browser cached the non-logged in page. You can fix this by either refreshing your cache or clearing your cache. CTRL+F5 in many browsers. Chrome is a bit more work. Press F12 to enable Developer Mode, then you can right click on the refresh button and select “Empty Cache and Hard Reload”. This option is unavailable if you are not in Developer Mode.

PORTS: Ports to other platforms can be done after the deadline. That said, the sooner you finish your port, the sooner people can play your game, improving your chances of placing in the final results. For best results, provide a Web version of your game, or a Windows version with no dependencies. Also be sure to rate about 20 games to improve your visibility.

MY GAME DOESN’T SHOW UP: If you can’t find your game, it’s usually because the URL to your downloads are missing ‘http://‘. Fix your URLs (http://mysite.com/mygame.zip) and you will show up. Alternatively, if you just posted it, wait a minute. The cache may not have refreshed yet.

MY GAME CRASHES, IS UNBEATABLE, OR I MADE A TYPO: We allow you to fix crash or win condition bugs after the deadline (in a sense, like “porting” to support more players). We also allow “typo” bugs. I.e. A true that should have been a false, a word that should have been a different word, very tiny changes that you would have caught if you had more sleep. We leave this open to interpretation, but generally speaking your game should be identical to the game you submitted. No new features, just things you messed up last minute. Typos.
