I like the idle aspect of it, but the intro was a little weak. I had to wait a little while to understand what the payoff was going to be.
God damnit! My eggs! :(
Anyway, it's a really good game, good job, lot of fun! :D
Love the art and music! The F-bomb might have made me chuckle if I hadn't read the comments before playing, but yeah, I wish there was a bit more dissonance going on. The fighting aspects help, but I'd find the game more humorous if there was more of that "I'm playing this children's toy and wait what did it just say" feel to it.
interesting concept, trying to turn an innocent game into a more hardcore thing without losing the cuteness, à la evangelion :D
it is a bit slow tho, and I was confused at first about what the eggs were for, but besides that you grasped the concept quite well!
A journey into my childhood. A big thank you from me. Really. I love your entry!
Cute! And it's fun to play too! :) the game feels to slow sometimes given the small number of choices, but I like it.
Reminds me, in some way, of Candybox. Loved the animations, nice work!
You might want to post a link to the webplayer offsite. It doesn't fit the whole thing on this page without scroll bars.
I wish there was more to do from the start instead of having to wait for options to become available.
Nice music and sound, and its all charming.
It's cute and fun... loved it! I wish there was a way to speed up the egg collection process... (or if there's one, maybe sooner?).
Good job!
Lacks of an acceleration mechanic for an "unboxing game", the player needs to have something to do while he is waiting or you won't get any retention.
Take candy box as an exemple : even if you had to wait to get an upgrade or something, you could farm the levels you knew you pass easily.
Here you just have to wait... and eventually you get bored because you have to wait longer and longer to get a reward.
Nice game nonetheless :)
Love it! I love idle games and pet games and while this is very simple, its also very fun and easy to understand. I can see myself keeping this on in the background while i try other games.
First game that made me laugh out loud, good work!
Gameplay wise I think it was rather boring. It turned out better once I took it as that what it was (an idle game) and instead of actively waiting I just left it open in the background for a while. Then I ate all my thousand something eggs, waited again, and then I bought everything and I was a little disheartened when it suddenly ended.
Spending 50 eggs to enter the arena to "only" win 40 back is a bit weird, but appart from that... WOAH I wasn't expecting that!
Awesome twist and rather well made game. Really interesting take on the theme, too!
Cute and interesting take on the theme. I like how, as in Candy Box, suddenly the game "opens" in an unexpected way. It could be worth to develop it further. Nice job!
Hmmm... You know, everything you've put into this is really solid across the board. I remember playing those old Tamagotchi games back when I was in elementary school, and they look and sound JUST like this. Cute twist, etc.... I think the main thing to change, if anything, would be that though it IS an idle game and is therefore going to play like one, the player still needs some kind of choice to figure out which of their options would be best. Right now, because it's so clear what to do, it gives us a very linear game with no risk to it. So, if you add some way to generate eggs, or some other kind of thing, I think that would help a lot with the balance and the playability.
Thank you for the game! I really like your "challenger" designs :>
Very funny game ! And I didn't know Waiting/Unboxing Games style before ! Thank you for the information :)
You've definitely captured the feeling of a tamogotchi. Also the beaten up look after losing fights was a funny surprise.
Phenomenal entry.
Brilliant take on theme. Wonderful twist and turns - I was geniunely surprised by how stuff played out. Brilliant humour - it's hard for a game to make me laugh out loud, but this one did.
I should mention: it is a wonderfully weird to have the happy theme background music when you are killed and "fu*k" appears on screen saying your eggs are gone, and personally I REALLY appreciate using that kind of word in a game like this! Such lols!
First appearance of Eyepatch guy - such lols!
Second appearance of Eyepatch Guy - such lols!
Loved the art for him too. Hell, I loved every bit of art and animation. Lovely song and spot of sound design. Great bits of writing.
In short: my highest rated entry this Ludum Dare and my personal favourite.
I hope to see more from you in the future sebasRez!

TEAMS: Teams entering the Jam should pick a single representative to submit your game, or create a team specific account you can share. We currently do not support Team Voting, but sharing an account and together playing and rating games is acceptable.
NOT LOGGED IN?: If you get a message about not being logged in, even though you are, it’s because your web browser cached the non-logged in page. You can fix this by either refreshing your cache or clearing your cache. CTRL+F5 in many browsers. Chrome is a bit more work. Press F12 to enable Developer Mode, then you can right click on the refresh button and select “Empty Cache and Hard Reload”. This option is unavailable if you are not in Developer Mode.
PORTS: Ports to other platforms can be done after the deadline. That said, the sooner you finish your port, the sooner people can play your game, improving your chances of placing in the final results. For best results, provide a Web version of your game, or a Windows version with no dependencies. Also be sure to rate about 20 games to improve your visibility.
MY GAME DOESN’T SHOW UP: If you can’t find your game, it’s usually because the URL to your downloads are missing ‘http://‘. Fix your URLs (http://mysite.com/mygame.zip) and you will show up. Alternatively, if you just posted it, wait a minute. The cache may not have refreshed yet.
MY GAME CRASHES, IS UNBEATABLE, OR I MADE A TYPO: We allow you to fix crash or win condition bugs after the deadline (in a sense, like “porting” to support more players). We also allow “typo” bugs. I.e. A true that should have been a false, a word that should have been a different word, very tiny changes that you would have caught if you had more sleep. We leave this open to interpretation, but generally speaking your game should be identical to the game you submitted. No new features, just things you messed up last minute. Typos.
The game is interesting although not very innovative (quite typical electrical pet game). It is a bit weird to have the happy theme background music when you are killed and "fu*k" appear on screen saying your eggs are gone, and personally I don't really appreciate using that kind of word in a game like this... the graphic is very nice, btw!
