by Inateno - Jam Entry

Hello everyone,

Edit - Controls:
zqsd / wasd / arrows for move, space jump, b/n fight, e/r spell.
Work with gamepad (recommended) on Firefox / Chrome.

So for this Ludum Dare I wanted to create an online game, dynamic and fun. The theme wasn't the best choice for me (snowmen was perfect XD but sadly... :( ).
I wanted to make online features, with maps, with tons of actions, the theme is respected for "arenas" (you will understand by playing the game).

We decided together some GD choice, and goes crazy to made an MMO game in 72h (all coding for myself xD).

It's an MMO arena beat them all. You start in a "city" there is arenas inside.
Each arena got special rules (just one at the moment, free fight ^^) and you get xp/leveling by making kills in arenas.

We'll add tons of features in the future, we want to make a spell editor based on behaviors (to let users create their own spell, with a behavior and limits to control the progression and level design).

You can play the game as guest but you'll loose your avatar when leaving.

We'll make some update about content, but we are gonna to wait after voting period (except for bugs I'll fix and push)

Have fun!

I made this game with:
- a Game Artist: Naya
- my friend Game Designer: Fangh who helped us only the last day
- BloodyFoxie who made a little OST (to short to be used in the game sadly... but goes on menu)

I like the idea, but the game doesn't seem quite finished to me. You achieved quite a lot for 72 hours, but there is a lot of work yet ahead of you. I hope it turns out amazing and wish you best of luck.

It just froze on after I clicked the title screen. Green bar on the right flashing. Tried again, froze again. I am using Chrome and a Mac computer.

I've got to say, never thought that I would see an MMO at LD. I mean, there is a lot of effort put at making the server and all that.
The game seems pretty rad! But right now there is little to do. I need people to play, I think. Also some instructions about how to play would be good.

Han sorry for instructions, you should play with gamepad ! (it was the first jam and first ludum dare for the game artist, she was lost with all this stuff to do ^^)

Ofc 2 people to made an MMO is crazy xD don't care, I like this ^^

Also, we want to continue this game it was something we wanted to do and the LD was a good moment make something fast (then go on updates).

@digibody don't know the power of your mac, I know that apple don't let a lot of memory usage for browser on iphone (maybe same on mac ?) also it's chromium and not chrome (not exactly the same right ?) so these problems are in general about memory usage, the game run in 1080p (so big buffers) I will upload the 720p assets later, should work better.

Really ambitious project for a LD, I really like the art. Next time go for something smaller!

Really ambitious game for an LD. There's not much to do, but it's impressive with what you got so far. Great job!

Building multiplayer in a LD game deserves a lot of props. I thought the gameplay was pretty fun. It could use some improvement, but this is LD! Only so much can be done in a 72 hr time frame. :) Great work!

Yay thanks for comments, we already fix all bugs from collisions improved spells, city and arenas.
But with the LD voting period we have to wait for update !
Follow me on twitter if you are interested about the future project.

Really ambitious! Ultimately it seems unfinished and incomplete, but it's cool to see a team trying to do multiplayer stuff--it's very hard! I hope you have fun moving forward with the project.

TEAMS: Teams entering the Jam should pick a single representative to submit your game, or create a team specific account you can share. We currently do not support Team Voting, but sharing an account and together playing and rating games is acceptable.

NOT LOGGED IN?: If you get a message about not being logged in, even though you are, it’s because your web browser cached the non-logged in page. You can fix this by either refreshing your cache or clearing your cache. CTRL+F5 in many browsers. Chrome is a bit more work. Press F12 to enable Developer Mode, then you can right click on the refresh button and select “Empty Cache and Hard Reload”. This option is unavailable if you are not in Developer Mode.

PORTS: Ports to other platforms can be done after the deadline. That said, the sooner you finish your port, the sooner people can play your game, improving your chances of placing in the final results. For best results, provide a Web version of your game, or a Windows version with no dependencies. Also be sure to rate about 20 games to improve your visibility.

MY GAME DOESN’T SHOW UP: If you can’t find your game, it’s usually because the URL to your downloads are missing ‘http://‘. Fix your URLs (http://mysite.com/mygame.zip) and you will show up. Alternatively, if you just posted it, wait a minute. The cache may not have refreshed yet.

MY GAME CRASHES, IS UNBEATABLE, OR I MADE A TYPO: We allow you to fix crash or win condition bugs after the deadline (in a sense, like “porting” to support more players). We also allow “typo” bugs. I.e. A true that should have been a false, a word that should have been a different word, very tiny changes that you would have caught if you had more sleep. We leave this open to interpretation, but generally speaking your game should be identical to the game you submitted. No new features, just things you messed up last minute. Typos.
