Cool game, more powerups would have been fun !

Dec 8, 2014 @ 11:26am

Yeah, i was planning to implement persistent weapon upgrades, just like in your game.

Playing with the borders theme? :D It's a nice shooter, it's fun to kill cockroaches haha

when I saw infestation I imagine zombies, but you use a scarier enemy xD

Cool game:=) Would have appreciated it a lot if you didn't have to switch keys when moving up and down (360 degree movement with the left and right arrow keys would enhance the flow of playing)

Nice! I would love some more power-ups as well. :)

Nice game, but i think it's need more dynamic in gameplay

Dec 8, 2014 @ 1:58pm

@svenardo: that's how i made it initially - i thought it was kind of strange when releasing and pressing the key again so i changed it. Bad idea, it would make the game more dynamic i think.

More variation in the gameplay will be better ^^

Pretty neat little defense game. Sometimes powerups would show up far away from where the enemies were headed, such that there was no way I could get the powerup, but it did tempt me to go over there, so maybe that's not such a flaw afterall.

Hi there. Liked the style of shooter. Found it easy to get offside and therefore hit. Nice sounds, very 80s. Good job!

I choose to interpret vent as screen! Very nice aliens-twist on tempest, although I am missing the superzapper and other associated oddities. Overall, very fun (good job!)

The web version game seems down, or is it just me? (blank page here and on the "web" link)

really nice game!
Little disgusting :)
Good idea of gameplay! Maybe some new thing can make this game more attractive.

Very nice! you were right, our games have similar appoeaches, great job!

Dec 9, 2014 @ 11:44am

@drludos: I didn't notice any problem with any of the links for the web version. Just to be sure i re-uploaded the game again, if you had any problem before i think it is fixed. Also, check your flash player version, the game needs version 11.8 to run. :)

Yeah, more power ups would make the game more dynamic, but I enjoyed it. A lot of potential.

This game gets hard quick. Very fun, just wish there were more power ups to deal with some of the heavy waves. Great job!

That annoying intro sound effects though. Still, not bad! A little difficult at first cause I didn't think about how it'd work at first then got the hang of it.

Cool game, base gameplay was very fun. Would've liked it better if you would move with left/right only and if the sounds didn't hurt my ears.

Really cool mechanic with the all around shooting. Really fun and it was great to see more people use Haxe and Haxeflixel

Dec 12, 2014 @ 11:51am

Good idea, but kinda slow. Higher fire rate, more, but waker enemies would be better IMO

Dec 12, 2014 @ 2:44pm

Solid gameplay and a nice touch that you always shoot towards the middle so there's a point to moving around. Good art!

standard shooter, but with clever mechanics and use of perspective, solid gameplay, well done

Such a bleak concept, but I really enjoyed it. Totally unique concept, never seen anything like it. The controls are straightforward and the difficulty seems really balanced. Super fun game! My score: 10100.

Really fun game! :) However, the roach-powerup balance was a little off, so it quickly became impossible. :(

Pretty cool game! I like the idea and how it seems balanced, that is no wave is impossible (although they get harder) and yet the pressure is constant. Some ideas for improvements/future work:
* More frequent power-ups.
* Movable area circular instead of square + faster movement.
* Indication of where the next wave will appear.
* Creep variation.
Good job!

Nice Gyruss-style game. Some of the sound effects are a tad harsh, but shooting the bugs is satisfying and the power-ups are nice.

Dec 29, 2014 @ 10:00pm

Thanks for the telling me, i never knew about this Gyruss!

And yeah, the audio sucks unfortunately - i'll change all the sound effects in a post compo version eventually.

We leave this open to interpretation, but generally speaking your game should be identical to the game you submitted. No new features, just things you messed up last minute. Typos.
