Factory Fit

by TheH - Compo Entry

Just an experiment with a "Factory Tycoon" style game. You start off with 600 facto-bucks and you basically just make as much money as you can.

select the different icons on the left to chose which factory part you want to place. The cost will be displayed when hovering over the grid.

Left-clicking on an empty space will buy that part and place it.

Right-clicking will rotate the basic conveyors as well as the conveyors under factory machines.

Shift-Left-clicking will sell the factory part for a lesser price than it was bought for.

Left-clicking one of the "+" buttons on the edges will create a "Receiving" port that will supply the material being worked with. If you run out of money, these will no longer supply the materials until your funds are in the positive again.

Right-clicking one of the "+" buttons on the edges will create a "Shipping" port that will take finished materials and sell them. The more that has been done to a material, the more you will get from it. Shipping ports will always sell materials, even if your funds are in the negative.

Shift Left-clicking the shipping and receiving ports will sell them for a lesser price than you bought them for.

=========Things to keep in mind=========

The "upgrader" machine (the one with the arrow), will always convert all materials into the second stage material, so be careful not to put it at the end of the line.

You can always sell conveyors or rotate them, so don't feel like you have to get the positioning of everything perfect right off the bat.

The "Boxer" machines will always destroy the material unless it is a stage-2 material, so be careful not to place it on the line where it's going to eat high-value materials.

There is no music nor are there sound effects

Again, this was more an experiment than anything, so it's not as fully featured as it probably could have been

As with all my entries, if there's enough interest in the concept, I may pursue a more fully featured version in the future.

Congratulation for finishing this Game ! \o/
I Liked the graphics and the overall mood of it;
On the side of the things i dind't like : Affordance !
I didn't knew what i was doing. Things are transforming, my money is disaperring, i sold things and watching all of that was entertaining but not really productive.

Really good potential, though

I like the basic idea behind this, but i think u need just a little bit more time to polish the produktion chain and add more combinations off produkts ;)
Also there is so much space that u could import so much produkt that the game starts to lag.

I think is the first LD game I've seen with an installer.

I love these kinds of games, but it wasn't obvious how you make money - seeing the screenshot that you had multiple painting machines in a line was the key to getting it sorted.

This could be a really excellent arcade-y factory sim with some different production lines and a bit more of a goal/challenge.

TEAMS: Teams entering the Jam should pick a single representative to submit your game, or create a team specific account you can share. We currently do not support Team Voting, but sharing an account and together playing and rating games is acceptable.

NOT LOGGED IN?: If you get a message about not being logged in, even though you are, it’s because your web browser cached the non-logged in page. You can fix this by either refreshing your cache or clearing your cache. CTRL+F5 in many browsers. Chrome is a bit more work. Press F12 to enable Developer Mode, then you can right click on the refresh button and select “Empty Cache and Hard Reload”. This option is unavailable if you are not in Developer Mode.

PORTS: Ports to other platforms can be done after the deadline. That said, the sooner you finish your port, the sooner people can play your game, improving your chances of placing in the final results. For best results, provide a Web version of your game, or a Windows version with no dependencies. Also be sure to rate about 20 games to improve your visibility.

MY GAME DOESN’T SHOW UP: If you can’t find your game, it’s usually because the URL to your downloads are missing ‘http://‘. Fix your URLs ( and you will show up. Alternatively, if you just posted it, wait a minute. The cache may not have refreshed yet.

MY GAME CRASHES, IS UNBEATABLE, OR I MADE A TYPO: We allow you to fix crash or win condition bugs after the deadline (in a sense, like “porting” to support more players). We also allow “typo” bugs. I.e. A true that should have been a false, a word that should have been a different word, very tiny changes that you would have caught if you had more sleep. We leave this open to interpretation, but generally speaking your game should be identical to the game you submitted. No new features, just things you messed up last minute. Typos.
