Entangled mass

by Rojetskidev - 48 Hour Compo Entry

Google will say the .exe is a virus because it was made with gamemaker, thankyou.

Control with arrow keys
has asteroid style physics

press space bar to fire then once both bullet are fired press space to "connect" them.

get used to the physics, there is no options menus. press z to skip onto the next level.

hint: head up to find the key, also the red forcefield will kill you

this is my first LD and really am not impressed with the final product, but I thought it would be rude to now show my use of the theme and possibly a fun idea for a larger project thankyou!

Enemies come through walls, health bar is really big and blocks some of the assets, background begins to hurt your eyes, some objectives are hard to find, screen shake is way too strong and there's this annoying sound that loops all the time without any clear reason. A decent game with many smaller issues.

An interesting concept marred by quite a few bugs and annoying decisions.
Could be quite fun if worked on.

On its face, an asteroids style space shooter with some exploration and item (key) collection is a cool idea. However, as mentioned before the sound looping in the background isn't doing the game any favors. The screen shake really needs to be polished. It goes past the point of "juice", and really just makes it hard to orient your self on the screen. Enemies pass through walls. The movement physics don't feel great against enemies who can move more easily than you. Dogfighting doesn't feel great. I might tune the enemies to work better with the player's capabilities. It's a nice attempt. Definitely don't stop trying, but I think there are some lessons you can definitely learn from what didn't work here. Best of luck on your next project and/or Ludum Dare!

Could be fun fix some of those little bugs and the game would have more appeal

As others have said, great idea, and I was initially pleased with the ship movement, but it's really hard to hit the enemies once they start circling you. Promising though, could be a lot of fun with a bit more work

IMPORTANT NOTE: If you want to place in the final results, you NEED votes. The easiest way to get votes is by rating other games. Judging lasts for 3 weeks following the end of Ludum Dare. For best effect, rate 20 games as soon as possible. Rating more games is encouraged.

TEAMS: Teams entering the Jam should pick a single representative to submit your game, or create a team specific account you can share. We currently do not support Team Voting, but sharing an account and together playing and rating games is acceptable.

NOT LOGGED IN?: If you get a message about not being logged in, even though you are, it’s because your web browser cached the non-logged in page. You can fix this by either refreshing your cache or clearing your cache. CTRL+F5 in many browsers. Chrome is a bit more work. Press F12 to enable Developer Mode, then you can right click on the refresh button and select “Empty Cache and Hard Reload”. This option is unavailable if you are not in Developer Mode.

PORTS: Ports to other platforms can be done after the deadline. That said, the sooner you finish your port, the sooner people can play your game, improving your chances of placing in the final results. For best results, provide a Web version of your game, or a Windows version with no dependencies. Also be sure to rate about 20 games to improve your visibility.

MY GAME DOESN’T SHOW UP: If you can’t find your game, it’s usually because the URL to your downloads are missing ‘http://‘. Fix your URLs ( and you will show up.

MY GAME CRASHES, IS UNBEATABLE, OR I MADE A TYPO: We allow you to fix crash or win condition bugs after the deadline (in a sense, like “porting” to support more players). We also allow “typo” bugs. I.e. A true that should have been a false, a word that should have been a different word, very tiny changes that you would have caught if you had more sleep. We leave this open to interpretation, but generally speaking your game should be identical to the game you submitted. No new features, just things you messed up last minute. Typos.
