This Game is my entrie for this LudumDare30. It was really hot as I was going to Rock en Seine (3 days rock festival) but I'm very happy as I managed to finish it this sunday with approximatively 14hours of work !
I thought this game as a free exploration in abstract art. It illustrate the life with 19canvas and how much we change during our life as well as the worlds, our relationship and basiquely everything.
The simple control : Move with arrows and follow your instinct.. :)
I used pixi.js as render engine and my own web template : https://github.com/Makio64/Template
Thanks by advance for your feedbacks & Have fun my friends !

I like this alot. It feels very reminiscent of the early stages of spore done in a very minimalistic style.
Really nice feeling about this, got me hooked for the whole one. Simple enough to get immediately stuck, art style to keep you calm, almost meditative, and still requires some brain to follow the variations. Only minus is that the theme connection feels kinda weak, and there is no sound. A very meditative relaxing soundtrack, like humming waves, could make it even better. It reminds me a bit of Flow.
I like how you don't actually explain anything... and it still works intuitively (at least for me). Very smooth graphics.
Amazing toy you've made! In 14 hours, fantastic. I played for about 5 mins, but have bookmarked for later, visited about 20 er 'nodes' ?
Beautiful art style. I love the subtle hints of direction and the creature moved very fluidly. This games really needs some music!
Dude, it's great, nice art style but some sounds would make it really awesome. Great job!
Thanks for your feedback guys ! Happy you understand it & like it :) . I will add a separate version with music, i really didnt get time this weekend to work on this part and as you say it will add to the mood ;)
Suddenly, very dynamic for an exploration game. Loved it :)
Really nice and stylish. The ONLY thing it was missing was some nice audio
Really like the art style, visual effects, and transitions when you "evolve". As another commenter mentioned, the first thing that it reminded me of is the first level of Spore :)
reminds me of spore cell stage. Great art style, kept playing just to see what the character would look like.
This game is beautiful! Not much skill involved, though. Is there more than one node at a time? I visited all the ones the arrows pointed too and got back to the title screen.
@CryoGenesis I never played spore but now i'm so curious, i will check videos of it, thanks for the reference :D
@Flyinpig5, yes only one node at the time and after you are angel you back to the title, "story of life" ;)
Wow, beatiful, you should enter it in the jam and add some nice spherical music to it. Love it!
Really nice colors, this game reminded me of the first level of Spore.
Curious game , loved the art but I think it lacks a sense of "direction" (no pun intended). I didnt'knew what i was doing or what for...well maybe it was intended!
Good work , all in all I liked it :D
@malf yeah I was feeling same but at the end it give a challenge to the player. I can help with a perlin noise to give a sense of direction more strong but my girlfriend witch is not gamer at all finish it after few minuts so I think it's ok haha
It is really simple, but it has a great atmospehere. The fullscreen experience adds a lot. Shame there is no audio.
Some kind of challenge or skill progression would have gone a long way to making this game feel complete. But the artwork was so imaginative that I kept playing through to the end, just to see what was next. Cool!
Cool, short but sweet experience. With some audio this would be really neat!
very artsy, so relaxing. I wish there was a peaceful music in the background. good job mate!
Wow, that was surprisingly beautiful. I really like the fact, that this is so fun to play, even if the gameplay aspect is so little. Really liked the whole concept and the art, obiously, too!
Great work! I like this alot, the simplicity, the mood. Would have been nice with a little audio.
I really had fun playing this abstract game! Add ambient music and subtle sounds and it will be perfect :D
Very cool evelution game... like the art and style... is running very good at my old computer... you maybe should put some challenging content into it... like competitors or something like that... I Like it... played it trough!
Lovably minimalistic :) Lacks some ambient sound effects to finish off the great atmosphere but we all know how hard it is to polish something during the 48h timeframe. Great work anyway :)
Feel pretty good. It's always interesting to see what the next level is like. Kinda relaxing too. Good Work!
Thanks guys ! Happy you like this monster and the art unniverse :) !
@psychomonsters I'm not sure adding challenge / competition will be great as the challenge is to get what follow to evolve and the the reward the evolution himself, like this everyone can play & enjoy, no die, no loose, no score was an important game design point for me
It's absolutely beautiful, and it's an interesting take on the theme. I just wish I had more things to do so I could play and explore a little bit longer.
I don't find the relation with the theme but it's a beautiful and minimalistic art.
I like graphics specially the background with noise...
good mood.
Really interesting artistic idea. The gameplay is a little bland but it gets just different enough to keep the player engaged.
I'm not sure how well it fits the theme, though.
Very addictive game, the mechanic is probably one of the most intuitive and intelligent i've seen in this ludum. Minimalist art fits so well and its really pleasant and relaxing. Very nice job !
The graphics are amazing.
So minimal and nice.
Very good game!
A little chaotic but a great play, specially considering how little time you had to create it. It would be good to see how you could merge other ideas into it and also some moody audio would be a great addition.
That was surprisingly interesting considering how simple it was. Very nice use of colors. There wasn't a whole lot to the game, but what was there was potent and enjoyable.
Nice and calming. To bad there wasn't some relaxed music to go with it
Really well done, I like a lot this kind of game. The only flaw was already mentioned many times, so, congrats :)
Thanks for all your comments and feedback, very appreciate ! :)
For my next ludum, I will definitively not drop the sound design & use the full 36h, promise !
Also I'm really happy this kind of game find a public here, I was not sure.
Thanks everybody !
During a brief moment in the life of the creature, it seems very lovecraftian.
Pretty simple, but clear one target, one purpose, and it works as simple as a game, as nice as a shape.
I really like it, because you could passed more time on it, it would became worse, it's simple.
Maybe a little bit too easy, with more challenges, and one or two dangereous creature, it could became a wonderful simple game.
Awesome! With a bit of ambient music and a sprinkling of audio effects it would have felt complete and polished. Amazing for just 14hrs - very well done.
I played it with love, very short nice game! Reminded me of Spore and Sparkle 2 Evo :)
Very immersive, I felt conditioned like Pavlov's dog to see what was next :)
Beautiful game, just gotta keep moving. Very interesting phases and levels but not very challenging.
Very innovating game. Great mood. Great playability. Great graphics. Great experience. It would be perfect with sounds and music.
Some ambiance or other music would have made this complete. Atm it feels a bit lacking.
Very unique and interesting! And the control and transition are very smooth too! Well done!

IMPORTANT NOTE: If you want to place in the final results, you NEED votes. The easiest way to get votes is by rating other games. Judging lasts for 3 weeks following the end of Ludum Dare. For best effect, rate 20 games as soon as possible. Rating more games is encouraged.
MORE TIPS AND DETAILS AT THE BOTTOM OF THIS PAGE
TEAMS: Teams entering the Jam should pick a single representative to submit your game, or create a team specific account you can share. We currently do not support Team Voting, but sharing an account and together playing and rating games is acceptable.
NOT LOGGED IN?: If you get a message about not being logged in, even though you are, it’s because your web browser cached the non-logged in page. You can fix this by either refreshing your cache or clearing your cache. CTRL+F5 in many browsers. Chrome is a bit more work. Press F12 to enable Developer Mode, then you can right click on the refresh button and select “Empty Cache and Hard Reload”. This option is unavailable if you are not in Developer Mode.
PORTS: Ports to other platforms can be done after the deadline. That said, the sooner you finish your port, the sooner people can play your game, improving your chances of placing in the final results. For best results, provide a Web version of your game, or a Windows version with no dependencies. Also be sure to rate about 20 games to improve your visibility.
MY GAME DOESN’T SHOW UP: If you can’t find your game, it’s usually because the URL to your downloads are missing ‘http://‘. Fix your URLs (http://mysite.com/mygame.zip) and you will show up.
MY GAME CRASHES, IS UNBEATABLE, OR I MADE A TYPO: We allow you to fix crash or win condition bugs after the deadline (in a sense, like “porting” to support more players). We also allow “typo” bugs. I.e. A true that should have been a false, a word that should have been a different word, very tiny changes that you would have caught if you had more sleep. We leave this open to interpretation, but generally speaking your game should be identical to the game you submitted. No new features, just things you messed up last minute. Typos.
very nice love the art style
