wow this was really fun! I wish there was more of an indication of how far the escape was. I felt real terror some times as I tried to make it. I think I got really close but I'm not sure! Really fun great job!
Thank you for your kind comment, that was exactly what we were going for (the terror thing). Totally agree on the indicator because the goal is pretty far (and reachable with all 4 lives). Will add it in post-compo version.
Nice game! It was tense at times when I just made it to the edge of a safe area.
Quite liked this game! It's pretty short and sweet but could be expanded to so much more. It was so nerve-wracking at times! I loved the art, too. Full 8 way walk animations on the guy was pretty nice, and the worms looked good too. Plus the work AI was basically perfect! The only thing I would suggest is bigger turn radius for the worm, so it can be a little easier to dodge.
I really enjoyed it at first, but the lack of music ruined the mood a little bit after a while, also, you could add new gameplay elements while the player progresses through this massive level :)
I loved the enemies movement, and the tension of not getting to a safe place when they are coming after you, nice work!
Thanks so much for all your nice comments. We will take all your comments and critique and make a better game for the post-compo version. You guys are awesome!
Very exhilarating to narrowly escape the jaws of the sand stalker thingeys!
I keep getting so close to the exit with one life left and die. I'll keep trying!
Quick and easy to learn, and I played through quite a bit of it. I was initially a bit confused about the white walls vs dirt, as I started on the walls and then couldn't get back on the other ones. I would suggest that the player starts on dirt to teach them that it's safe.
Damn, those sand-worms are unforgiving.
I had fun playing this game, I like the tencion moments generated by seeing if you reach the ground or not. If I have anything bad to say about this game is that the walking noises are a bit annoying
Fun and well balanced. The movement and sprinting were just the right amount of challenge and learning the patterns of the sand worms was good as well.
Pretty awesome game. Had me terrified of the sand monsters after playing for a while!
Very well done! Simple mechanic, fun and challenging to play, good visuals, good enemy movement. Very polished game.
quickly fun, quite addicting when you go further
the indicator of how far the goal are... is a good idea, but should be capable of turn off, the tension made it more fun
(sorry my bad english ^^')
Absolutely loved this. One of my favorites! Made me feel like I was on Dune. Thanks so much for making it :)

This game is pretty addictive, I like the game mechanics and the idea of the monster in the sand. It's really hard though ! Checkpoints are good, but there are just not enough lives to get to the end of the level ^^
Anyway, that was a lot of fun
Thanks for all your nice comments everyone. I'll just repost the tip on the top of this page.
Tip: Roll off the rock to get a head start on the worms for a better chance to reach the next rock.
Wow! That was intense!
I really liked the effort you put into making the sandworms move in a believable manner.

Nice fun game. Loved the tense feeling I would get whenever I'd have a close call with the sand worms. Cool game!
Nice, but either add customizable controls or don't use the shift key as Windows keeps opening the adherence keys window.
Haha, it's the movie Tremors in video game form. The gameplay was fun the entire time, and it was definitely suspenseful whenever the sandworms got close to eating me. Also, the game made me feel like I was Kevin Bacon the whole time, which is something more games should strive for.

IMPORTANT NOTE: If you want to place in the final results, you NEED votes. The easiest way to get votes is by rating other games. Judging lasts for 3 weeks following the end of Ludum Dare. For best effect, rate 20 games as soon as possible. Rating more games is encouraged.
MORE TIPS AND DETAILS AT THE BOTTOM OF THIS PAGE
TEAMS: Teams entering the Jam should pick a single representative to submit your game, or create a team specific account you can share. We currently do not support Team Voting, but sharing an account and together playing and rating games is acceptable.
NOT LOGGED IN?: If you get a message about not being logged in, even though you are, it’s because your web browser cached the non-logged in page. You can fix this by either refreshing your cache or clearing your cache. CTRL+F5 in many browsers. Chrome is a bit more work. Press F12 to enable Developer Mode, then you can right click on the refresh button and select “Empty Cache and Hard Reload”. This option is unavailable if you are not in Developer Mode.
PORTS: Ports to other platforms can be done after the deadline. That said, the sooner you finish your port, the sooner people can play your game, improving your chances of placing in the final results. For best results, provide a Web version of your game, or a Windows version with no dependencies. Also be sure to rate about 20 games to improve your visibility.
MY GAME DOESN’T SHOW UP: If you can’t find your game, it’s usually because the URL to your downloads are missing ‘http://‘. Fix your URLs (http://mysite.com/mygame.zip) and you will show up.
MY GAME CRASHES, IS UNBEATABLE, OR I MADE A TYPO: We allow you to fix crash or win condition bugs after the deadline (in a sense, like “porting” to support more players). We also allow “typo” bugs. I.e. A true that should have been a false, a word that should have been a different word, very tiny changes that you would have caught if you had more sleep. We leave this open to interpretation, but generally speaking your game should be identical to the game you submitted. No new features, just things you messed up last minute. Typos.
Nice. Quick and fun to play. Not at all what I was expecting when I opened the game. (Which is good!)
