I had a good laugh. Initially it plays as bad as the original Atari 2600 E.T. game, but adding the digging sequence makes up a lot. Could find some cartridges. Very fun!
A fair rehash of the Atari 2600 game E.T in which you dig the graves of your foes whilst being pursued by child predators in a hellish, abstract dreamscape. Educational!
I was hoping someone would do this. and you did not disappoint. epic movement sounds. did someone see elliot?
A very fun game. I didn't quite get the point but great nonetheless
well that brings back memories, not great memories, but still well done on the game
Oh no, why the alien doesn't merge with the Kid? ;-;
So sad...
Well that was unexpectedly relevant to recent events. Kudos to you two!
This is really hilarious. I've never played E.T. but I've seen it being played a few times so I was laughing pretty hard at how accurate this is. Sometimes it's a bit too accurate though, a little less confusion and some less ear-grating sounds would have helped.
I started my gaming career with NES, so I didn't have first hand experience on E.T. for Atari 2600, but after hearing A LOT about it on the net, I just knew I had to try this one out.
I had no idea what was happening. I thought the music would break my headphones. I still don't know what some of those graphics resemble. I loved it!

I had fun! I really liked the 2600 style art and I loved how topical this was to this weekends dig. Great job.
Very funny and Ad hoc game...
Also, the atmosphere and the graphics are great, perfect mock up!
5 stars on theme, graphics and Audio... for sure.
Thanks everyone for the nice comments. Keeps me motivated to work on my larger projects.
Fun game, I was wondering if people made an ET game for this LD. This is one fun ET game.
Nice version of ET I included it in part 14 of my Ludum Dare compilation video series, if you'd like to check it out :) http://youtu.be/-VvtqXfr-Xs
Yay, I'm glad someone else had the same idea that I did. I liked your take on this!
Very true to the original. Wasn't expecting that twist ending.
The digging part was good, however the noise just destroyed my ears. I ended up muting the game...

IMPORTANT NOTE: If you want to place in the final results, you NEED votes. The easiest way to get votes is by rating other games. Judging lasts for 3 weeks following the end of Ludum Dare. For best effect, rate 20 games as soon as possible. Rating more games is encouraged.
MORE TIPS AND DETAILS AT THE BOTTOM OF THIS PAGE
TEAMS: Teams entering the Jam should pick a single representative to submit your game, or create a team specific account you can share. We currently do not support Team Voting, but sharing an account and together playing and rating games is acceptable.
NOT LOGGED IN?: If you get a message about not being logged in, even though you are, it’s because your web browser cached the non-logged in page. You can fix this by either refreshing your cache or clearing your cache. CTRL+F5 in many browsers. Chrome is a bit more work. Press F12 to enable Developer Mode, then you can right click on the refresh button and select “Empty Cache and Hard Reload”. This option is unavailable if you are not in Developer Mode.
PORTS: Ports to other platforms can be done after the deadline. That said, the sooner you finish your port, the sooner people can play your game, improving your chances of placing in the final results. For best results, provide a Web version of your game, or a Windows version with no dependencies. Also be sure to rate about 20 games to improve your visibility.
MY GAME DOESN’T SHOW UP: If you can’t find your game, it’s usually because the URL to your downloads are missing ‘http://‘. Fix your URLs (http://mysite.com/mygame.zip) and you will show up.
MY GAME CRASHES, IS UNBEATABLE, OR I MADE A TYPO: We allow you to fix crash or win condition bugs after the deadline (in a sense, like “porting” to support more players). We also allow “typo” bugs. I.e. A true that should have been a false, a word that should have been a different word, very tiny changes that you would have caught if you had more sleep. We leave this open to interpretation, but generally speaking your game should be identical to the game you submitted. No new features, just things you messed up last minute. Typos.
Felt like I was playing a 2600 game, from the controls, the sounds, the big blocky characters. Very nice design.
