Very neat take on the theme! It was extremely fun (and the scenes were pretty funny too) to play as the cameraman, although sometimes it felt like the shot detection was somewhat off. I did better on my second run though, so maybe it was just me. Good work!
That was pretty amazing. I would recommend putting in a little more audio, I think a nice sound when you did good and a bad sound when you did bad would be great. Just to notify you're on the next part. The rest was really great.
This game is great! I had an awesome time playing it.
What isn't an innovation in this game? Loved the whole experience. Waiting for new stuff!
This game is great. And the end of the third scene is goddamned hilarious. It needs sound, though.
That was great fun, but the camera area detection was definitely off by a little. I really enjoyed it though!
Great work!
-Flatgub
great game but the camera detection seemed really bad, or maybe the text just wasn't clear enough
Thanks for all the comments!
@Empireindustries
You're right. I should have added a small sound effect for that.
@flatgub and leafo
Try zooming on some more. And try to get them in the center of the screen. But I agree that some detection could be done better.
Very fun and original game :)
I had a minor technical problem on OSX though (even after allowing the game in my security settings):
LSOpenURLsWithRole() failed with error -10810 for the file ~/Downloads/OneTake/OneTake.app.
This command solved the problem:
chmod +x OneTake.app/Contents/MacOS/hox
Great idea and really well executed. Sometimes it felt unfairly critical of my timing but not enough to ruin the experience.
Oh man, I absolutely love this. Super. Really innovative and exciting. I would love to see a full-fledged based on this concept, it has so much potential!
This is another game I was really looking forward to, very innovative use of the theme, and definitely got scope to continue developing into a full game.
Wow! It's awesome! I play all day... My favourite scene is the Western! Hehehehe...
Very very nice game. Awesome concept and it fits the theme perfectly! There are so many possibilities with this mechanic and this game shows the basics with good humor.
First time playing this I missed a lot of things, since I didn't knew they were there (and me chaotically looking around what is meant). It would've be nice to have some more queues what comes where + randomized events. That said, still a great game!
Amazing game! Fun, funny, good-looking and well-executed theme.
You actually got to add two more scenes, that was fast :y
Hey man,
the zip for MacOSX seems to be corrupt. I downloaded it two times, both won't work. When you fix it, please let me know, I'd like to play your game.
@YellowLime
Like I had the time for that :P
@FrozenCow
I just made a post mortem
http://www.ludumdare.com/compo/2013/12/16/one-take-post-mortem/
I'm planning on making a full version of this game. Or at least with this concept.
@Everyone else
Thanks for the comments once again!
@joserodolfofreitas
Thanks for letting me know. The LÖVE forums have helped me with the Mac version, it should be fixed now.
Very good game. Great style and really great interpretation of the theme. Some of the challenges were pretty picky, so maybe it could use an indication of why you're a little off. Really enjoyed it, good work!
Very original game, but I didn't really get how it links with the theme.
Anyway, I loved the art and gameplay with the mouse point and scroll, very fun.
Very original and innovative game, but it connects very loosely with the theme. The connection comes only through the name, but the gameplay itself hasn't much connection with it.

Awesome game. The limited music was awesome, as well. Needs moar levels!
Brilliant game, easily my favourite so far! Innovation 5/5
There were a few cases where I did not agree with the detection's ruling, but whatever.
This was hilarious! It needed sounds but overall pretty cool :D
Wow great use of the theme. Kind of wonky to know what you are exactly suppose to look at and how much you are suppose to zoom in. Nice job!
This idea is really great. The graphics do their job, the dialogs are amusing - I laughed. Sadly, your condition when something is filmed correctly is a bit too restrictive: sometimes, I had the feeling, that I'm doing it right and it didn't count.
Mediafile is a bad way to host your downloads. I keep getting pop-ups. *sigh* Such a great game. I love the graphics. Sounds are nice, game was well executed. Keep it up!
@MrBlade
What kind of pop-ups? I'm sorry it bothers you. It really works great for me as an uploader.
Just thoroughly entertaining, couldn't wipe the smile from my face. :D
Outstanding. The concept was incredibly original and executed flawlessly. The humour of the director's instructions and comments were excellent throughout.
Having seen some gifs of the game before playing it my expectations were high, luckily I wasn't let down.
Really nice work and a clever use of the theme.
Fantastic job - great take on the theme, and really well executed. I'm hanging out for the next few scenes :)
Now this is nice! Give me ten times the levels and I'll buy it on Steam :D
Small issue: The game doesn't seem to have an exit function.
I tried ESC and ALT+F4 but in the end had to shut it down in the task manager.
Ahhhh! This game is fantastic! Simple, funny and well polished! I wish there was more sound effects, and maybe another level or two. This would make for a great post-compo game!
awesome concept for a game, i really enjoyed making terrible movies :)
This is fantastic! I can honestly say I have never played or seen a game that works like this. I think you have a good contender for a winner in this competition.
Some kind of familiarity with the scene before shooting would've been nice. Loved the idea, and it seemed to work well.
This is the most creative game I've seen in the entries :) Nice game!
Great unique game, good art, smooth gameplay. Difficult to score highly on a trackpad, I wish I had a mouse with me.
This game gives really great impression. Sometimes it's hard to follow the script as it goes too fast, but I had some fun. Good job!
@TFJO
Hey thanks for letting me know! You can now quit with ESC, and added Fullscreen with F4. No gameplay changes or anything else changed of course.
@Everyone else
Thanks for the feedback! I'm really glad you're all enjoying my game!
Absolutely brilliant. Highly recommended. Really good graphics, sound and an awesome idea to boot. Very interesting use of the theme.
Ha, that was awesome! Innovative gameplay and wonderful take on the theme. My favorite game so far!
A pity, that the detection what's on camera can be wonky some times ...
Really nice game idea, and well executed. As others have said: the "shot detection" was a little unfair at times, but that didn't hurt the experience too much!
Wow, this is so awesome...
The idea is epic and the game is well executed.
Definetly one of the best games I've seen.
Reminds me a bit of McPixel, but I don't know why...
Great work!
love the idea, love the execution, love the humor. Fits the theme,.. alright, that's a wrap.
A great take on the theme. I'd love to see a longer post-compo version!
Great art, fantastic take on the theme, and a really fun game overall! Just a couple of issues with the camera detection. I wish you could have restarted individual levels.
Haha, awesome! Great use of the theme and really novel, though I really hoped it was going to mock me by showing me the horrible mess of a film that I had made a the end of each take. :D
Haha, this was excellent take on the theme, the gameplay was good and the scenes and newspaper notes on the bottom were hilarious. Nice work!
Really nice concept, and pretty fun :), though a couple of times I felt like I was doing right and the game said I wasn't D:
I could see it as a full game with more levels and a couple of new mechanics (like choosing what to show at some point or some travelings or something like this), good luck with it!
Nice, but needs more feedback to a player (not only sounds)
Its genius, man =)
Gameplay is very innovative. But I don't learn English good so its hard for me understand some words and action quick.
Really fun game! Playing a cameraman is inusual too, and the graphics are really well designed. Thanks for the fun!
Great concept, well presented and with very amusing writing. Very nice work!
WOW. Great job! Would love to have sound give some kind of indication of how well you're doing. Maybe the director could yell at you if you're doing the wrong thing? Also, a replay showing your movies at the end would really make the experience complete.
I love this. 17/21 so far. Looking forward to the post compo version! Good job here!
Very clever! I played it through twice just to see how the endings would be different for the last sentence in the newspaper. I would have loved an extra moment to read what the first instruction ones before the scene began - it was usually the most stressful.
Very cool and original take on the "one shot" theme. Love it
It's nice game. A playback of what you captured at the end of scene, would be a nice feature.
Best take on the theme I've seen so far! Very interesting gameplay, nice story, thou following the instructions live is a bit of a tackle.
Brilliant idea. only remark I have is that sometimes it didn;t recognize a correct shot, but awesome nontheless!
A great movie... emh videogame! Really nice concept!
I really like this game. Love the idea of filming a scene and getting cues. Sometimes I felt that I was performing the task and still failed. Seemed the fail conditions were pretty strict and the cues were maybe to ambiguous for the strict nature of the fail condition? Either way, one of my favorites so far!
Very interesting idea! There were a few moments where I was sure I got the correct shot, but it still said I failed them. However, my zoom work was weird (no mouse, so I had to use a trackpad that has poor scrolling; a keyboard alternative for zooming would have been nice) so that might've led to some failures when I thought I had decent shots. Either way, I really liked the game.
Wow! That was fun! Liked the style of the in-between text too..
Oh man those graphics are so good, it would be great if you made this into a full game!
I was really looking forward to playing this! (So glad I finally got around to it :P) It was just as fun as I expected it to be, and I really love the mechanic and idea around it. I sort of agree with others in that it is loosely based off of the theme since you're taking multiple shots (but yes, one chance per criteria!), but I still loved it a lot either way. It was wonderful! Great work!
Best choice of theme I've seen so far, and the execution was just as good as it looked. A few of the criteria I just couldn't get right (especially showing the zebra crossing - do I show just the edge or the whole thing?). I think the game's taught me that I'm not cut out to be a cameraman!
I thought I saw Justin Bieber. I checked and sure enough, I was right. But I can't figure out how to reproduce it.
fantastic! i would happily pay money for a game like this. the gameplay felt fresh and intuitive, AND i had the urge to play through it multiple times to perfect each scene.
my only gripe is the lack of sound effects. some camera shutter FX would have added to the overall atmosphere.
Incredibly fun. Great, original concept for a game. I've never played anything like this. I couldn't play the game well at all using a trackpad, but with a proper mouse and scroll wheel this would be a lot of fun. One thing that I would have really liked was the director's instructions to be audible, so that I had a better understanding of when the cues were coming up for the next shot. Reading them off to the side was not as intuitive for me. Great job overall!
Crashes after the Sheepolution and Love logos show up. Do I need to have a certain version of LOVE installed? My OpenGL drivers are a little messed up, could that be breaking it?
i like too much this game, but camera detection is a little bad, but you can dominate it
PD: did someone noticed the justin beaver easte egg? xD i liked this detail
@poolshoes
Never heard of anyone having that problem before. It's made with LÖVE 0.8.0 , so you cant run it with 0.9.0
I made a vid of the game here:

Impressive web site, Distinguished feedback that I can tackle. Im moving forward and may apply to my current job as a pet sitter, which is very enjoyable, but I need to additional expand.

IMPORTANT NOTE: If you want to place in the final results, you NEED votes. The easiest way to get votes is by rating other games. Judging lasts for 3 weeks following the end of Ludum Dare. For best effect, rate 20 games as soon as possible. Rating more games is encouraged.
MORE TIPS AND DETAILS AT THE BOTTOM OF THIS PAGE
TEAMS: Teams entering the Jam should pick a single representative to submit your game, or create a team specific account you can share. We currently do not support Team Voting, but sharing an account and together playing and rating games is acceptable.
NOT LOGGED IN?: If you get a message about not being logged in, even though you are, it’s because your web browser cached the non-logged in page. You can fix this by either refreshing your cache or clearing your cache. CTRL+F5 in many browsers. Chrome is a bit more work. Press F12 to enable Developer Mode, then you can right click on the refresh button and select “Empty Cache and Hard Reload”. This option is unavailable if you are not in Developer Mode.
PORTS: Ports to other platforms can be done after the deadline. That said, the sooner you finish your port, the sooner people can play your game, improving your chances of placing in the final results. For best results, provide a Web version of your game, or a Windows version with no dependencies. Also be sure to rate about 20 games to improve your visibility.
MY GAME DOESN’T SHOW UP: If you can’t find your game, it’s usually because the URL to your downloads are missing ‘http://‘. Fix your URLs (http://mysite.com/mygame.zip) and you will show up.
MY GAME CRASHES, IS UNBEATABLE, OR I MADE A TYPO: We allow you to fix crash or win condition bugs after the deadline (in a sense, like “porting” to support more players). We also allow “typo” bugs. I.e. A true that should have been a false, a word that should have been a different word, very tiny changes that you would have caught if you had more sleep. We leave this open to interpretation, but generally speaking your game should be identical to the game you submitted. No new features, just things you messed up last minute. Typos.
I am a huge fan of minimalistic pixel art and I really like the idea! :-)
