This game was super charming and a decent puzzler.
One note: sometimes you get stuck as Ruby & can't switch back to Bob. Or maybe I missed a bit of text where it says there was a reason for that. :/
I dig it! Good use of the theme, a nice aesthetic, soothing music, all around enjoyable!
The first level was a bit difficult off the bat, though.
And I think I found a bug there as well. If you walk straight forward, over the elevator on the bottom, and move past it to the ground on the other side, you can no longer drop the heart.
Cheers!
Nice and heartwarming especially considering the number of you get one bullet style games. Good solid puzzles. The player's movement was a bit floaty, and as a recommendation you probably could have consolidated all the different actions to one button since you could only do one at a time, but other than that really cool.
I liked the gameplay. It seemed to suffer from a few bugs or overlooked ways to more easily beat the levels, though. In the last level, I didn't press any button at all, and in the work level, I just waited for the timers to run down to nearly 0, so that I didn't have to move around as much. There's nothing inherently wrong with the art style. There's just something about it, in particular the character design, that doesn't appeal to me personally. Hm. The music fitted.
I guess this followed the theme about as well as my game did, i.e. as a story element rather than a mechanic (though you did it better than me). I usually always say the theme should be in the mechanic, but I didn't stick to that myself this time either.
I'm not the greatest fan of quotes like these, but I did agree with the last one. It was a nice touch how the last quote made the game start over. However, the physics had messed up that time around, and the heart just fell straight through the ground as soon as it was dropped. that seemed to be the case of some previous levels too. I don't know if it was supposed to be that way. I managed to finish the game, anyhow, but not to rebeat the first level under these conditions.
All in all, well done!
A really nice game. A little buggy still but fun in spite of it. The look of the thing is brilliant.
Great game! My only critique would be the controls. I played the web version and there were a bit too many keys being used (jumping with the space seems more intuitive than the up key. etc). But overall, loved it, loved the graphics, loved the sounds, loved everything about it!
I love the concept, and the quotes. The gameplay is fun & make you think how to finish. Good job!! i like it so much :D
Very good art/mood. Gameplay was good, but I ran into a bug on the work level, I was unable to drop my heart at all after like the first reset there. Still very well done. Where'd you get the music?
we made the music using Reaper Audio and the Kontact Player free download VST. thanks for the kind review, glad you liked it!
Graphics and audio are perfect for the game made. Really loved the idea of it. Nice puzzle game as well. I found them challenging. :)
Awww extremely cute! I love to find people whose games have a similar approach on the theme as mine, fantastic work :D you should check mine out,
After a while pressing l stopped working and I could no longer drop my heart.

IMPORTANT NOTE: If you want to place in the final results, you NEED votes. The easiest way to get votes is by rating other games. Judging lasts for 3 weeks following the end of Ludum Dare. For best effect, rate 20 games as soon as possible. Rating more games is encouraged.
MORE TIPS AND DETAILS AT THE BOTTOM OF THIS PAGE
TEAMS: Teams entering the Jam should pick a single representative to submit your game, or create a team specific account you can share. We currently do not support Team Voting, but sharing an account and together playing and rating games is acceptable.
NOT LOGGED IN?: If you get a message about not being logged in, even though you are, it’s because your web browser cached the non-logged in page. You can fix this by either refreshing your cache or clearing your cache. CTRL+F5 in many browsers. Chrome is a bit more work. Press F12 to enable Developer Mode, then you can right click on the refresh button and select “Empty Cache and Hard Reload”. This option is unavailable if you are not in Developer Mode.
PORTS: Ports to other platforms can be done after the deadline. That said, the sooner you finish your port, the sooner people can play your game, improving your chances of placing in the final results. For best results, provide a Web version of your game, or a Windows version with no dependencies. Also be sure to rate about 20 games to improve your visibility.
MY GAME DOESN’T SHOW UP: If you can’t find your game, it’s usually because the URL to your downloads are missing ‘http://‘. Fix your URLs (http://mysite.com/mygame.zip) and you will show up.
MY GAME CRASHES, IS UNBEATABLE, OR I MADE A TYPO: We allow you to fix crash or win condition bugs after the deadline (in a sense, like “porting” to support more players). We also allow “typo” bugs. I.e. A true that should have been a false, a word that should have been a different word, very tiny changes that you would have caught if you had more sleep. We leave this open to interpretation, but generally speaking your game should be identical to the game you submitted. No new features, just things you messed up last minute. Typos.
really liked the graphics. and a quote! so cool.
