Politicians Vs Zombies

by Hunt_Dialga - Jam Entry

I did not intend for this game to have much say in politics, but I felt it necessary to show the liberal's self defense plan. I did, however, intend for this game to at least have a mode for harder play. I am not the best for graphics, or texturing, but I did make a good effort to provide the player with a fun, and enjoyable game play experience. Everything you see in the game was all created by me, Hunt_Dialga, except the game engine, and the grass texture. The game engine is Unity3D.

You can get four different weapons. A bat, machete, semi automatic rifle (shoots once per click), and a machine gun.

If you don't get the lore, a conservative likes to keep traditional things. A liberal will easily discard those traditions for something else. Conservatives know how guns aren't evil, so they will use them. Liberals, usually think that they are evil and we need to discard them.

If you chose a Conservative, you could get one of those four. If you chose a Liberal, you can only get a bat, and a machete. Because liberals don't like guns :)

There is a bug where the bat does no damage. I know why its not working, but if I had more time to actually work on it I would have been able to fix it. I only actually had about 14 hours to work on this, I started on Sunday and finished a half hour before the jam ended. There is also a randomization glitch for choosing the weapon. I have no idea why this is.

I do hope you all enjoy my fine efforts.

Didn't really get it... couldn't tell any difference between the liberal and conservative, and most of the game code was kinda broken.

I like the concept and think it could be good if you stick with it.

Hah! I killed 85 zombies as a liberal, now if only this game let me legislate some health care reform to cure this zombie plague instead! :p

Its a good job this isn't a 'realistic' zombie survival game....

Liked the zombie physics.

Suggestion: lock mouse cursor, otherwise it's not much playable in the web version.

Otherwise, I don't much get it - tried several time, always got bat (going for conservative as I am a gun nut, didn't help me much), tried to walk around the zombies and beat them, didn't have much fun.
Next time maybe concentrate more on the game and less on the politics :)

112! It's so bad that it's good! I love it!

IMPORTANT NOTE: If you want to place in the final results, you NEED votes. The easiest way to get votes is by rating other games. Judging lasts for 3 weeks following the end of Ludum Dare. For best effect, rate 20 games as soon as possible. Rating more games is encouraged.

TEAMS: Teams entering the Jam should pick a single representative to submit your game, or create a team specific account you can share. We currently do not support Team Voting, but sharing an account and together playing and rating games is acceptable.

NOT LOGGED IN?: If you get a message about not being logged in, even though you are, it’s because your web browser cached the non-logged in page. You can fix this by either refreshing your cache or clearing your cache. CTRL+F5 in many browsers. Chrome is a bit more work. Press F12 to enable Developer Mode, then you can right click on the refresh button and select “Empty Cache and Hard Reload”. This option is unavailable if you are not in Developer Mode.

PORTS: Ports to other platforms can be done after the deadline. That said, the sooner you finish your port, the sooner people can play your game, improving your chances of placing in the final results. For best results, provide a Web version of your game, or a Windows version with no dependencies. Also be sure to rate about 20 games to improve your visibility.

MY GAME DOESN’T SHOW UP: If you can’t find your game, it’s usually because the URL to your downloads are missing ‘http://‘. Fix your URLs ( and you will show up.

MY GAME CRASHES, IS UNBEATABLE, OR I MADE A TYPO: We allow you to fix crash or win condition bugs after the deadline (in a sense, like “porting” to support more players). We also allow “typo” bugs. I.e. A true that should have been a false, a word that should have been a different word, very tiny changes that you would have caught if you had more sleep. We leave this open to interpretation, but generally speaking your game should be identical to the game you submitted. No new features, just things you messed up last minute. Typos.
