1 Day, 1K

by Tridecimal - 48 Hour Compo Entry

You start off with one day (it shows as 24 hours in the game) and $1000 and you have to dig as far into the ground as possible while collecting minerals to get more money, for extra hours or faster speed, and dodging moles that want to kill you for being on their turf.

Simple yet good. I love it. Only thing, that you mine with double speed when going diagonal as you get the same Y and X speed. Suits theme well.

Great game! I love the particle effects. Nice work.

Fun to play, but it was quite hard to keep up with buying upgrades while trying to mine down.

Fun, but upgrading was strange

Some things I've noticed:
1.)The moles are annoying at deeper levels.
2.)I don't quite get where the theme "you only get one" is. (I assume "you only get one day")
Other than that, quite an addictive game.

Screenshots look good. Wasn't able to load it on a macbook air, latest safari, firefox or chrome.

Not bad, my mouse was a bit wonky with the game sometimes though... Not sure if that is on my end.

Fun game, like it.

Its nice being able to choose your own pace of the game. Those moles are vicious.

Interesting concept. I was so focused on playing I didn't realize you could buy upgrades for the first couple rounds. Overall fun to play.

very nice -- very simple... I died the first time, until I realized buying a speed boost is required to outrun the moles. fun to play, not complex, but doesn't try to be... nice little arcade game.

please rate mine if you have the time.

Not bad, moles seem way too fast lol

It's a good concept with a good implementation. The upgrades remind me of those "get as far as you can" games where you can buy upgrades to make the thing go further, except they aren't persistent. I like the simple music, but an ambient track would make it better. I liked it!

The moles seemed like they moved faster if I switched from moving diagonally to just horizontal to try and dodge them ,which is backwards I think, since they should be quicker if I am moving towards them. It was challenging to make it far. It was enjoyable enough to play many rounds trying to best my records!

I personally didn't enjoy it, but congrats on finishing LD. This game is more about "digging" than "you only get one".

Would have been great with some background music but was still a very fun game regardless. I managed to get a high score of 9015 before I quit playing. Very addicting game. ^_^

IMPORTANT NOTE: If you want to place in the final results, you NEED votes. The easiest way to get votes is by rating other games. Judging lasts for 3 weeks following the end of Ludum Dare. For best effect, rate 20 games as soon as possible. Rating more games is encouraged.

TEAMS: Teams entering the Jam should pick a single representative to submit your game, or create a team specific account you can share. We currently do not support Team Voting, but sharing an account and together playing and rating games is acceptable.

NOT LOGGED IN?: If you get a message about not being logged in, even though you are, it’s because your web browser cached the non-logged in page. You can fix this by either refreshing your cache or clearing your cache. CTRL+F5 in many browsers. Chrome is a bit more work. Press F12 to enable Developer Mode, then you can right click on the refresh button and select “Empty Cache and Hard Reload”. This option is unavailable if you are not in Developer Mode.

PORTS: Ports to other platforms can be done after the deadline. That said, the sooner you finish your port, the sooner people can play your game, improving your chances of placing in the final results. For best results, provide a Web version of your game, or a Windows version with no dependencies. Also be sure to rate about 20 games to improve your visibility.

MY GAME DOESN’T SHOW UP: If you can’t find your game, it’s usually because the URL to your downloads are missing ‘http://‘. Fix your URLs ( and you will show up.

MY GAME CRASHES, IS UNBEATABLE, OR I MADE A TYPO: We allow you to fix crash or win condition bugs after the deadline (in a sense, like “porting” to support more players). We also allow “typo” bugs. I.e. A true that should have been a false, a word that should have been a different word, very tiny changes that you would have caught if you had more sleep. We leave this open to interpretation, but generally speaking your game should be identical to the game you submitted. No new features, just things you messed up last minute. Typos.
