FoxBox

by Malactus - 48 Hour Compo Entry

Simple game where you are orange box, whos main task is to catch white boxes.

After catching one, every ten seconds more and more enemies will come to the field, so survive as long as you can. The more sets of 10 seconds you can survive, the higher the score multiplication for picking up cubes will go.

The Hunter eye sight is not so good, so remember use his poor aim to your advantage at a distance.

Unfortunately I simply just ran out of time to work on more advanced gameplay involving hiding as well :< But for my second LD entry, not so bad.

Controls:

WASD / Arrows Keys / Gamepad left Analog stick - To Move Around
Space / Button 0 - Jumping

Created in Unity 3D,
Used BFXR for sound effects

Neat little game! One of those games that you don't need a tutorial for - it's all straightforward. Cool!

Would have liked screen rotate or slightly less of an angle(more downward)?

It was difficult to catch the little white boxes!

Nice idea!

It's a shame that you couldn't add hiding. Right now you're simply overwhelmed by brown boxes (dogs?) after a few rounds.

@Endurion you can thin the dogs by making the hunters shoot you :) but this was supposed to be so that you take the risk of taking on the dogs to catch the white boxes or hide to score up, but since I couldnt implement hiding, the score stays after you die.

Feels like a wolf hunting sheep. In this case, the wolf is clearly on the acids. :D

Really nice idea! Even though everything are just boxes you really get the sense of the "hunt" in the game. Great job with the controls, it feels rather nice running around and jumping to avoid the dogs and hunters.

Fun, had a bunch of dogs chasing me before i got killed off :P. Nice start, though rabbits were a bit too hard to chase down.

Fun little game, a little frenetic to control but I guess that's sort of the point. Should make a little more force feedback when you get hurt, like with a red overlay or a more prominent sound effect... I wasn't aware that I had health for a good part of the game

Splendid idea :) forces you to use imagination - personally i thought about wolf and dog and a bunch of sheeps cartoon from warner bros. good AI.

TEAMS: Teams entering the Jam should pick a single representative to submit your game, or create a team specific account you can share. We currently do not support Team Voting, but sharing an account and together playing and rating games is acceptable.

NOT LOGGED IN?: If you get a message about not being logged in, even though you are, it’s because your web browser cached the non-logged in page. You can fix this by either refreshing your cache or clearing your cache. CTRL+F5 in many browsers. Chrome is a bit more work. Press F12 to enable Developer Mode, then you can right click on the refresh button and select “Empty Cache and Hard Reload”. This option is unavailable if you are not in Developer Mode.

PORTS: Ports to other platforms can be done after the deadline. That said, the sooner you finish your port, the sooner people can play your game, improving your chances of placing in the final results. For best results, provide a Web version of your game, or a Windows version with no dependencies. Also be sure to rate about 20 games to improve your visibility.

MY GAME DOESN’T SHOW UP: If you can’t find your game, it’s usually because the URL to your downloads are missing ‘http://‘. Fix your URLs (http://mysite.com/mygame.zip) and you will show up.

MY GAME CRASHES, IS UNBEATABLE, OR I MADE A TYPO: We allow you to fix crash or win condition bugs after the deadline (in a sense, like “porting” to support more players). We also allow “typo” bugs. I.e. A true that should have been a false, a word that should have been a different word, very tiny changes that you would have caught if you had more sleep. We leave this open to interpretation, but generally speaking your game should be identical to the game you submitted. No new features, just things you messed up last minute. Typos.
