10 Up

by RobDangerous - Jam Entry

Strategy, Action, Adventure!

You control four highly-trained specialists, the world's top investigation team:

- An agent, who uses a gun to greet his enemies and a grappling hook to reach faraway places. His name is confidential. Very confidential.

- A mechanic, who can repair stuff and performs a very distracting dance. Never trust a woman who can't handle a wrench.

- A scientist, who can hack into computers, and uses a time gun to turn back time. It's all relative.

- A rowdy, who can punch and lift objects. He pities the fools.

Fresh from their secret laboratory our team makes use of the newest and most powerful energy drink ever conceived: 10 Up
There is just one catch: Emptying a can of 10 Up will make you fall asleep after 10 seconds. It's just that powerful, mankind cannot handle so much energy for long.

Control with cursor keys or wasd (left, right, jump) and mouse.
Space bar pauses the game and lets you choose another team member.
Mac user: If you are missing a right mouse button, use Ctrl + left mouse button.
Use the pause button often and wisely to switch characters, plan ahead and make the most of your precious time. Watch our introductory video at and show the foes who's boss.

The native versions and the HTML5 version contain some small bug fixes compared to the original Flash version, see

We put up a little more text and an introductory video at the game's site. Hope it helps.

Very confusing, i kind of understand but it's all a bit confusing. The graphics are quite nice and the mood is feels very consistent, reminds me a lot of the old gameboy games.

Good job! I loved the animations, and the character select was a nice touch. There is no way to switch characters if you kill Mr T, then you just stuck with the machinic girl. Keep on making stuff!

Characters can be switched freely as long as they don't fall asleep. Everybody please watch the video to get a grasp of the mechanics.

We had to rush things a bit for release. Some changes we made in last minute do not perform well on flash platform.

Yep, good concept, seems like it could be a lot more fun if you tweaked the difficulty ramp, but as it is, impressive for a weekend project!

We added Windows and HTML5 versions. Should you run into performance problems with the original Flash version, try those.

It's a nice idea but the controls were confusing at first. I didn't know what's going on either.

Other than those, the art was pretty good.

TEAMS: Teams entering the Jam should pick a single representative to submit your game, or create a team specific account you can share. We currently do not support Team Voting, but sharing an account and together playing and rating games is acceptable.

NOT LOGGED IN?: If you get a message about not being logged in, even though you are, it’s because your web browser cached the non-logged in page. You can fix this by either refreshing your cache or clearing your cache. CTRL+F5 in many browsers. Chrome is a bit more work. Press F12 to enable Developer Mode, then you can right click on the refresh button and select “Empty Cache and Hard Reload”. This option is unavailable if you are not in Developer Mode.

PORTS: Ports to other platforms can be done after the deadline. That said, the sooner you finish your port, the sooner people can play your game, improving your chances of placing in the final results. For best results, provide a Web version of your game, or a Windows version with no dependencies. Also be sure to rate about 20 games to improve your visibility.

MY GAME DOESN’T SHOW UP: If you can’t find your game, it’s usually because the URL to your downloads are missing ‘http://‘. Fix your URLs ( and you will show up.

MY GAME CRASHES, IS UNBEATABLE, OR I MADE A TYPO: We allow you to fix crash or win condition bugs after the deadline (in a sense, like “porting” to support more players). We also allow “typo” bugs. I.e. A true that should have been a false, a word that should have been a different word, very tiny changes that you would have caught if you had more sleep. We leave this open to interpretation, but generally speaking your game should be identical to the game you submitted. No new features, just things you messed up last minute. Typos.
