Dungeon Run: Gauntlet

by N427 - 48 Hour Compo Entry

WASD to move and Left Shift to use your shield.

It's an endless runner. You can't win, you just do a little better each time. You get 100 points for each extra second on the clock when you leave a room and you get 300 for each coin you collect. Don't be in a room when the timer reaches zero or you die!

Comment with your high scores!

Made in Unity in 48 hours.

Not sure if the Mac or Linux builds work, I run Windows so I've only tested the Windows and Web ones.

I will play and rate the games of *everyone* who comments on this game.

Once you're done playing this game check out my friend Kortuga's game!!

Nice game! I like the way the character moves. Pretty difficult though, maybe because I am terrible at it.

Pretty cool game :) But pretty hard though and controls seemed a bit.. "floaty". Not necessarely bad thing though :P

Great game! Really fun to play. I would have liked some music and sound though.

Not sure if all levels are passable but you definitely need to be fast to play this one.

Nice game. I like the simple but harmonious graphics. The controls are a bit counterintuitive, but that just makes the game harder. :D

Neat idea! I liked it a lot. Some audio would have been nice.

Fun endless runner, rather hard and the control take some time to get used to but overall well done.

Nice! I agree with Falcon, some audio would make this game really good.

Not bad. I like the way the character rotates around, it's pretty cool. Although some times he wouldn't rotate all the way fast enough and I'd walk in to a saw. It would be nice if you could add some sort of check so the same room doesn't appear twice in a row. Overall, nice graphics, decent gameplay, not bad.

Also, I decided to fix the level 2 bug. You might want to go back and play the other levels, if you didn't already. =)

Hey, that was actually pretty cool. A little short for my tastes, but I really enjoyed the vibe. Reminded me of Atari's Adventure. Nice game, thumbs up to you.

Controls felt a bit sluggish, but other than that this is a pretty good game. Great work!

Also my top score was 10,700.

Very tough! Nice simple, effective sprites. Shield mechanic is good, forces you to decide whether you can get by without it and save it.

I like the choice of commands and the design of the rooms with the choice between being greedy or not. Hard, though, and lacks music!

Nice level design and good difficulty!
I like the way it looks, too.

Good work!

I doubt the second level is even beatable but it doesn't really matter - you did say it was endless.

The graphics are ok but the controls aren't particularly well suited to this kind of gameplay. You really want something fast and sensitive.

Not bad overall, just needs more.

Good work, I found myself trying to beat my high score for a while.

I like the graphics. The game was kinda difficult since some levels may either just run until the exit or collect before run until the exit. Good game.

This is good! I like the random rooms, it adds a lot of replayability.

PORTS: Ports to other platforms can be done after the deadline. MY GAME DOESN’T SHOW UP: If you can’t find your game, it’s usually because the URL to your downloads are missing ‘http://‘. Fix your URLs ( and you will show up.

MY GAME CRASHES, IS UNBEATABLE, OR I MADE A TYPO: We allow you to fix crash or win condition bugs after the deadline (in a sense, like “porting” to support more players). We also allow “typo” bugs. I.e. A true that should have been a false, a word that should have been a different word, very tiny changes that you would have caught if you had more sleep. We leave this open to interpretation, but generally speaking your game should be identical to the game you submitted. No new features, just things you messed up last minute. Typos.
