Until Death is a short and addictive rush game, stop the super evil villain from destorying the universe by deactivating his many many....many bombs!
You pilot a ship with WASD and space to boost, around a maze which evolves around you. The challenge is to survive the ten second timer by deactivating the bombs.
Ben West helped me out with audio and game design which im very thankful for! I think it links with the rage you will experience whilst attempting to gain a highscore!
Everything else was done by me ^_^
Enjoy, let me know what you think / suggestions =]
(Just uplaoded a webplayer version with a fixed score timer)

Great graphics and gameplay! Also I like this music.
Ta-ta-ta-ta-tatata!
hey matthias, at the moment the idea is that you have 10 seconds until you explode and you must stop the bombs =]
With a simple "how long can you last" later in dev i aim to have mission objectives and such but for the jam i was just focussing on the ten second counter mechanic! =] Glad you liked the graphics dude!
wow Kristinn i just got 2.30, i relaly need a HS table but i have no idea how to implement one ;) TO GOOGLE! although i can add one now, i will do after judging ^_^
good game, but if you really want it addictive, you should add a high score system and let players compete with others.
Interesting game. Good graphics & gameplay.
Music could have been a bit less repetitive.
I did encounter a bug wherein one of the time-giving pod-things became stuck in the ground, in such a way that I couldn't collect it.
cheers for the comments guys, and hmm, I havent encountered that bug unfortuantely =[
Also i added the timer/score just under the core 10 second countdown so people could post their scores, i mentioned in a comment on here that im not familiar with sql and databases over the net for highscore tables but id be very interested in talking to someone who is familiar, as it is the current plan to get global highscores working
i noticed one fo the jammers had that setup in like 3 hours with gameplay!
Overall I really liked the game. The controls were fluid, the art looked pretty good, though it was very busy which made it hard to spot key things out at times. It would have been nice to be able to see the whole grid at once, which would have made the random aspect less punishing.
The music got pretty repetitive after a while too, having it less busy or have more variation so it doesn't sound like the same 12 seconds endlessly would help.
Overall though very good!
Tough making a decent 3D game in such a short amount of time, really good job!
I expected bomb defusal games, but I didn't expect them to be so much fun. Or to have dynamic mazes. Good job.
Very nice presentation! Couldn't figure out what to do at first. Looks like the bombs are way above the car/ship picking them up.
Good overall job.
Some suggestions :
- The audio track is really repetitive (not in a good way) and tend to be annoying. If you choose to put a music as background, it have to be longer.
- I think you could have used a different mesh for the "stuff" you have to pickup (what's it supposed to be ?). As a player you don't really know if you are supposed to pick it up or if it's a bomb or something else.
It's more often than not hard to distinguish stuff on screen. But overall, very nice!
thanks for the feedback guys i also had the same comments from people playtesting it at home during the dev! about the play area being readable and wtf is the bomb! It was made in the last 20minutes of the jam, it was meant to be a bomb anyway :P deffinately all needs some tlc =]
Great job on the graphics with this one, really slick looking game.
Wow, graphics is really good! Very rare to see 3d games with good texturing and modelling for LD, because they are pretty hard to do! Mad props to that! I'm also digging the music!
The controls are smooth. But I feel like the ship is suppose to crash to walls though, but then again there's hardly any room to maneuver :P
Simple concept and solid gameplay. Fits the theme well. And nice graphics. I like it !
Smooth controls and great graphics. I've kept playing until the walls started to go down (then I die). Is there an end or you keep going forever?
Nice little game, few things:
Good: Overall nice execution, good controls.
Bad: Heavy usage of same tiled textures make hard to see anything. Limited camera view doesn't help as well. The orange thingy which you need to catch could be more noticeable.
Simple fun game, with nice graphics and sounds! I featured it in my Ludum Dare 27 video compilation, if you'd like to check it out :), http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7GZNeIKxvyg

TEAMS: Teams entering the Jam should pick a single representative to submit your game, or create a team specific account you can share. We currently do not support Team Voting, but sharing an account and together playing and rating games is acceptable.
NOT LOGGED IN?: If you get a message about not being logged in, even though you are, it’s because your web browser cached the non-logged in page. You can fix this by either refreshing your cache or clearing your cache. CTRL+F5 in many browsers. Chrome is a bit more work. Press F12 to enable Developer Mode, then you can right click on the refresh button and select “Empty Cache and Hard Reload”. This option is unavailable if you are not in Developer Mode.
PORTS: Ports to other platforms can be done after the deadline. That said, the sooner you finish your port, the sooner people can play your game, improving your chances of placing in the final results. For best results, provide a Web version of your game, or a Windows version with no dependencies. Also be sure to rate about 20 games to improve your visibility.
MY GAME DOESN’T SHOW UP: If you can’t find your game, it’s usually because the URL to your downloads are missing ‘http://‘. Fix your URLs (http://mysite.com/mygame.zip) and you will show up.
MY GAME CRASHES, IS UNBEATABLE, OR I MADE A TYPO: We allow you to fix crash or win condition bugs after the deadline (in a sense, like “porting” to support more players). We also allow “typo” bugs. I.e. A true that should have been a false, a word that should have been a different word, very tiny changes that you would have caught if you had more sleep. We leave this open to interpretation, but generally speaking your game should be identical to the game you submitted. No new features, just things you messed up last minute. Typos.
Nice work on the graphics!
Gameplayis a bit confusing though. What's supposed to happen?
