A fun & fancy platform adventure where every ten seconds, a new rule is introduced to make things more difficult for the young adventurer!
I had intended to enter this in the compo, but my Sunday was way to busy to get in the hours needed to finish this up. I ended up being pressed for time today as well. Nevertheless, I managed to produce a reasonably nice looking platform, with smooth controls and tied in with this LD's theme very nicely.
If you like the game and want to support me with my other game making endeavours, check out http://www.2dmgames.com/.
Congrats to all on another successful Ludum Dare.
Cheers,
Dan

Haha, very cute concept. I got lucky and managed to finish it. Reminds me of the silly childhood games we used to play with ourselves in the otherwise mundane world.
the music and artwork is great. I really like your take on the theme. very creative idea.
Great game. The rules system was an awesome twist. Graphics were very good and the gameplay was smooth.
Sweet! I love the character design and graphics. The game reminded me of Tower of Heaven a bit with the rule system. I feel like the double jump is a bit OP though. You can clear quite a bit of the level by just double jumping a few times.
Graphics are wonderful, and the music and world have a really nice quality. Nice use of the theme.
Nice concept, didn't complete the level, but enjoyed it all the same!
Nice game, well made and executed. Unfortunately, frustration is the major innovation in this one...
Feels very polished... everything is very sleek, fun, and just looks good, except maybe the jump mechanic which could use some polish... otherwise a very solid entry from all aspects! Good job and well done :)
Very cool game, i really like the changing rule system. Graphics are cute, music is great. Although some checkpoints would have been nice ... :)
Fun to play, good job!
It took me a while to realize what was happening with the rules. I should read the rules more often :D Great concept, and the graphics are adorable.
I like the happy mood of your game. The character is cute, and the way he moves is a bit wonky... but it seems to work with the overall style. Cool stuff.
It reminds me of Tower of Heaven by Askiisoft one of my favourite indie plataforms. The cooncept is just great, there should be more rules or rules could be disabeled, that way there would be always something happening.
Silky smooth controls, I can't blame them for dying so much! Some sort of checkpoint would be nice but the change of rules are great!
Nice graphics and like the idea of gameplay evolution.
Haha awesome game :) This could easily stay fun for several levels and with more rules.
Not very intelligent are you? Leaving your comments that you do only brings you more negativity towards your entry in return, especially when it comes time for me to rate your game....
@cjordan1683, your comment has no feedback on my game and is an unwarranted insult. Please leave your negative comments off my entry. :/
You're a total hypocrite, and how can you expect anything less? You can make negative comments on other people's entries but no one had better do the same to you? You knew exactly what you were doing with your first comment on my entry. Yeah, you're mother raised a hypocrite and an asshole.
Awesome skeletal animation, I like the main character a lot!
The audio really fit this game, and the level is nicely designed. Enjoyed this, great work~
I die a lot! I like it, One must not do a lot of things, nice work! It was hard to get the movement at beginning, but once used to it, it's pretty cool
The more comments you keep making, are only bringing more towards your page as well. You still don't seem to have learned this.
You're not only a hypocrite, but also a manipulative liar. You go ahead and contact the moderator, I would love to let them know about what you've been up to on my entry as well.
Hey Broxxar, I saw the things you've been posting on other entries. You need to stop. Cjordan1683 is right, you're only getting more flies with honey than vinegar. Just stop picking on him otherwise you will only bring more negativity to your own page. Would probably be a smart idea to quit now.
Broxxar you can drop the charade. I see that you're causing trouble on here. I don't think any of the moderators or admins would be happy to know how you are trying to get under other peoples skin. Stop being a jerk and have some more respect for the community.
Nice looking game. The controls are a bit floaty(probably caused by using a rigidbody and forces to move it). Shame there isn't a "you finished" screen at the end.
Fun game, we found not moving left difficult, but made it to the end flag with a spectacular series of double-jumps.
Very beatiful the game, very polished but very hard to jump
I'd like the sequence of nots - not jump, not flower, not troll =D
really polished and sleek. wish it was longer, or had more levels. neat idea!
Love the graphics, sound and also I thought indroducing a new rule every 10 seconds was a very interesting idea. I just stood there to watch what rules would come up, and of course they stopped. It would be unfair of me to expect an infinite number of rules, but maybe the last rule should be something that kills him no matter what. like you must not stand still, then finally you must not move right. haha. That would probably be a bit too sick for the cute graphics.
@Dream of Sleeping
Yeah I think I got into the original scope of the project in my post-mortem. The original plan was 8-10 rules, and the last rule would always be "reach the finish" where after ten seconds you'd be killed indefinitely ahaha.
Thanks for the insight, I'll give yours a play when I'm back to my PC tomorrow!
Nicely done. Jumping felt a bit clunky at first, but I adjusted to it. It would have been nice to have some sort of "you've fnished" screen once reaching the end though, but I guess as long as you make it before you get the 'don't go left' rule you could just run around afterwards.
Cute graphics, I like how you made the character sprite. The rules made the game really difficult.
I finished it twice, it was fun. As the rules come random, sometimes the come too unfair, but the rules system was interesting, it reminded me of a game titled Tower of Heaven.
Graphics, music and effects were nice, really polished game.
Oh! Super cute and very polished! I love the game based on restrictions. Here are a few ideas, feel free to discard them :)
1. make the restriction apply only after one or two seconds the letter is presented to the player. While playing for the first time, I was running left and when the "don't run left" letter appeared, I lost a life.
2. add icons to the letters, and place them in the screen (maybe as a row at the top edge?). So the information is always available. At one point I was so concentrated double-jumping that I couldn't read the letter.
I could pay for this game :)

TEAMS: Teams entering the Jam should pick a single representative to submit your game, or create a team specific account you can share. We currently do not support Team Voting, but sharing an account and together playing and rating games is acceptable.
NOT LOGGED IN?: If you get a message about not being logged in, even though you are, it’s because your web browser cached the non-logged in page. You can fix this by either refreshing your cache or clearing your cache. CTRL+F5 in many browsers. Chrome is a bit more work. Press F12 to enable Developer Mode, then you can right click on the refresh button and select “Empty Cache and Hard Reload”. This option is unavailable if you are not in Developer Mode.
PORTS: Ports to other platforms can be done after the deadline. That said, the sooner you finish your port, the sooner people can play your game, improving your chances of placing in the final results. For best results, provide a Web version of your game, or a Windows version with no dependencies. Also be sure to rate about 20 games to improve your visibility.
MY GAME DOESN’T SHOW UP: If you can’t find your game, it’s usually because the URL to your downloads are missing ‘http://‘. Fix your URLs (http://mysite.com/mygame.zip) and you will show up.
MY GAME CRASHES, IS UNBEATABLE, OR I MADE A TYPO: We allow you to fix crash or win condition bugs after the deadline (in a sense, like “porting” to support more players). We also allow “typo” bugs. I.e. A true that should have been a false, a word that should have been a different word, very tiny changes that you would have caught if you had more sleep. We leave this open to interpretation, but generally speaking your game should be identical to the game you submitted. No new features, just things you messed up last minute. Typos.
Awesome graphics! I like gameplay.
