*** PROBABLY FIXED MOST OF COLLISIONS BUGS, NOW BLOCKING IN BLOCKS IS RARE ( I HOPE :)) ***

27-08 Small patch:
* decreased transparency level of dark sprite
* fixed 2 impact sounds and volume of it
* fixed bad text size in one of screens

Sorry for my english, it's very poor. ;)
It's my entry to LD # 27 JAM.
I wanted to take part in the compo, but I ran out of time.
It's my first LD and first game whose I finished in 100% (ok, 97% ok + still 3% bugs to patching) and show the "world".
About Game:

In my 'production' you are character in the dark, Sleeping House.
Every 10 seconds light is enabled and you lose one life, but you can look around and see where you are.
Your goal is go to the exit block.
You can't too many times bounce against the walls .
If you hit the wall or block, you create a noise.
If your noise level is bigger of max noise level, level will be restarted.
If your knocks level is bigger of max knocks level, level will be restarted.

* THERE ARE 24 LEVELS *
You first control a legendary dark character ( :D), later you're a glass bottle( very fragile), basketball (likes to bouncing) and spaceship ( you fly in the house!:D )

*** ATTENTION: GAME IS VERY DIFFICULT, SO AFTER THE PLAYING MAYBE YOU WILL MUST BUY A NEW KEYBOARD. OR MOUSE. OR MONITOR.

* But before you will rate it, PLEASE PLAY at least about 6 tutorial levels OR MORE(recommended for more fun and greater damage to the keyboard or other things in your around :P), then REAL FUN AND TROLLlNG LEVELS KICKS OFF.

Game probably has got some of bugs, although I fixed most of it. However game is playable and I hope it has cool gameplay for you.
I wrote this in C++ and SFML2, MSVC++ 2012 Express, GIMP, MSPaint, my tile map editor.

Game run in the WinXP and Vista(tested on VirtualBox), and of course on the Win 7.
Before you play, install the VSC++12 Redistributal Package, is in game main folder.
If you see any bug, write comment here, please!

HAVE FUN AND REMEMBER!
YOU MUST BE SILENT, HOUSE IS SLEEPING.

PS. I was repaired some of collision detection bugs, fixed the music player bug and I updated Credits.txt file with links to assets used by me.

nice game, fun take on the theme. Turns out I have a tendency to run head long into the dark. go figure.

@onzephyr do you mean too big transparency level of the dark sprite ? I don't understand your previous comment too good, because my english level is too small ;)
However, I will reduce the transparency level of darkness within a few moments. Thanks for comment! :)

Aug 27, 2013 @ 6:53pm

Were you playing as Darth Vadar? That would make for an intersting premise. Nice game!

I can see the level even when its dark, im not sure if its supposed to be like that or its only my screen. but i can see an outline of the walls etc. Sound was scary as shit and i had to turn it down while testing. Thanks for making it ;D

MuciojadPL says ...
Aug 27, 2013 @ 7:09pm

@Yell0w are you sure you see the outlines yet? I thought I fixed this bug when I decrease the transparency level of the dark. Sound is impossible to turn off. :D

BTW Darth Vader is a guy who's demolishing house in tutorial. :D I wish you a great fun :D

Hi, I also could see the walls and the elements of the level when it was dark, very lightly, but they were there. These things with colors some times are tricky, and it depends on the screen.

MuciojadPL says ...
Aug 27, 2013 @ 8:28pm

It's strange, when I playing at my computer I cannot see them. However, I set the transparency to minimum. Oh, can you give me screen showing your situation in game?

Aug 27, 2013 @ 8:33pm

OMG had volume cranked, so the first wall I hit made me jump out of my socks it was so loud!

MuciojadPL says ...
Aug 27, 2013 @ 8:58pm

@Antidote, if you crash with a flower pot, in the middle of the night in a quiet house, everyone hear it more loud than normal ;D Seriously, I turned down the volume a few moments ago. Thanks for notice ;) Aah, I almost forgot. I finally fixed the bug with the dark, I hope. This bug was fault of the monitor contrast ;) When I set contrast to max on my monitor, I saw outlines too. REALLY THANKS GUYS! :)

collisions a bit bugged, but cool game. i like how you used the theme :)

Aug 28, 2013 @ 1:10pm

Controls updated, thanks ;) About collision bugs, all of my free time I spend trying finally fix it, but I have a feeling that the fault is in the construction of the map, not in the code, because sometimes I was set the block positions manually to an accuracy of pixel and some of blocks not completely adjacent to another block and creates a tiny hole. THANKS VERY MUCH! Game was some updated.

Not a bad idea at all! And quite a lot of content and gameplay elements.

ratking says ...
Aug 28, 2013 @ 8:14pm

The idea is really nice! I wish I wouldn't float that much and that the light bulb would be as huge as the character, so I can walk the path blindly.

Aug 28, 2013 @ 8:18pm

Good game and original idea!

MuciojadPL says ...
Aug 28, 2013 @ 9:07pm

@Ratking do you mean the point light sprite? I work some at it and I got a bit better effect. Maybe tomorrow I will update this sprite in dropbox ;) Thanks all for the comments and notices :) Good night! :)

MuciojadPL says ...
Aug 29, 2013 @ 11:51am

@Aroow, collision "need more work" or "don't need"? I don't quite understand your comment, translator isn't too good ;)
I realize that it was still a lot of mistakes, but unfortunately now I do not have much time available to patch all of them (real life ...);) Thanks for comments, and I wish all of you good luck! :) HIGH FIVE!

I don't know why, but part of the game is below my screen. Any pointers? I'd really like to play your game!

MuciojadPL says ...
Aug 29, 2013 @ 5:21pm

Hmm, resolution of my game is only once, it's 1152 in width and 1024px in height, maybe you have smaller resolution on your screen. I will try to add other resolution ( 800x600), tomorrow it should be ready! Please come back tomorrow :) AND VERY THANKS FOR NOTICE!

Quite an interesting take on the theme! I think it would have been more enjoyable if the collisions were a bit more forgiving but well done.

@timmahh Collisions at the beginning of the work was very forgiving, but had a lot of mistakes, so I chose a different path, and I think it was a better choice, the difficulty is higher :D Thanks all for comments!

"The Prgram cant start because MSVCR110.dll is missing, try reinstalling the program to fix"

MuciojadPL says ...
Aug 31, 2013 @ 7:17pm

To fix your problem, you must install the Microsoft C++ Redistributable Package 2012, is in the game folder and it name is "vcredist_x86(1).exe" ;) When you install it, try run game and I hope you will fix this problem and come back here to rate it! :) Thank you for comment :) BTW sometimes you can read "READ FIRST!!!.txt" file in game folder :P

I do this at least weekly out of politeness around my home so it's funny to see it in a game. Fairly forgiving gameplay and fun! I like the take on the theme.

TEAMS: Teams entering the Jam should pick a single representative to submit your game, or create a team specific account you can share. We currently do not support Team Voting, but sharing an account and together playing and rating games is acceptable.

NOT LOGGED IN?: If you get a message about not being logged in, even though you are, it’s because your web browser cached the non-logged in page. You can fix this by either refreshing your cache or clearing your cache. CTRL+F5 in many browsers. Chrome is a bit more work. Press F12 to enable Developer Mode, then you can right click on the refresh button and select “Empty Cache and Hard Reload”. This option is unavailable if you are not in Developer Mode.

PORTS: Ports to other platforms can be done after the deadline. That said, the sooner you finish your port, the sooner people can play your game, improving your chances of placing in the final results. For best results, provide a Web version of your game, or a Windows version with no dependencies. Also be sure to rate about 20 games to improve your visibility.

MY GAME DOESN’T SHOW UP: If you can’t find your game, it’s usually because the URL to your downloads are missing ‘http://‘. Fix your URLs (http://mysite.com/mygame.zip) and you will show up.

MY GAME CRASHES, IS UNBEATABLE, OR I MADE A TYPO: We allow you to fix crash or win condition bugs after the deadline (in a sense, like “porting” to support more players). We also allow “typo” bugs. I.e. A true that should have been a false, a word that should have been a different word, very tiny changes that you would have caught if you had more sleep. We leave this open to interpretation, but generally speaking your game should be identical to the game you submitted. No new features, just things you messed up last minute. Typos.
