[ Edit: The game is now Fraps compatible, as per Jupiter_Hadley's comment :) SwapArcade1.2.exe is the newest version. ]

This game swaps between 4 different classic arcade inspired games every ten seconds, but keeps the same objects in play from each previous game, and changes their behaviors. You'll see what I mean!
Controls are the Arrow Keys and Space bar. The controls change depending on the game currently in play, shouldn't be too difficult to figure out :)
This Ludum Dare is probably more of a glorious trainwreck. I got tired of making it half way through, but I still think it was an interesting concept at least... Enjoy!

Wow really nice idea.
Real original, well implemented, etc.
I like :)
I really like this game loads! If only Fraps would let me record it to be in the compilation video :/
I'm glad it wasn't frantic. For some reason in the inflating game, when I had killed most of the enemies, the remaining ones moved very quickly. Is it supposed to do that?
Thanks for all the nice comments!! I wasn't expecting people to enjoy the idea so much :D
@Jupiter_Hadley Oh! I updated it to be Fraps compatible, download the 1.2 version from my original download link :)
@lulzfish_4 Yeah, but it wasn't supposed to be as drastic a change in speed as it turned out to be.
Woah, wasn't expecting that to be as good as it was. Really liked the concept and you executed it well, even enjoyed the silly asides about the music. Nice!
Liked it. It's best played without knowing what will happen. I laughed when it said "oh look, the game changed!", and for that, I award you a 4/5 on humor.
"AND EVER AND EVER AND EVER AND EVER AND EVER AND EVER AND EVER AND EVER AND EVER AND EVER AND EVER AND EVER AND EVER AND EVER AND EVER AND EVER AND EVER AND EVER AND EVER AND EVER AND EVER"
Simple and fun, also very interesting because its like playing the same thing 4 different ways :D cool bro!
Very cool! It was fun playing and I liked the transitions. One of a kind!
M should unmute too, I clicked it after I saw 3 lines of that.
From the game, it's a nice idea but since you made so many games you didn't polish any
Clever! Considering your screenshot, there's definitely more than meets the eye here. Serves me right for never reading descriptions.
*has power trip* XD!!!!
This must have been the funniest game I played today!
(I'm rating your audio 5/5 btw)
I like the switching of mechanics :). Think of a great way to repackage the game, and it will be huge.
Really nice concept, completely caught me off-guard when it switched up the game-play, awesome
at first I was like "well that's just space invader..." then I was like "What?!", awesome idea.(Yeah sorry I didn't read the description I just wanted to play :p)
When the screen moved by itself, it creeped my out. Nice concept, it's good to see somemthing different.
I enjoyed this game thoroughly. Switching between arcade games was a little unexpected (despite the title) but a joy. Might suggest though that you add a score system and make it endless. Feels more like an arcade that way IMO.

I very much enjoyed the transitions (and implementing the theme too) from mode to mode. I remember wanting to make a game exactly like this last year for the evolution theme, but wanting to transition keep up -> arkanoid -> scrolling shooter (shmup). I am glad to see another creator thinking along the same lines.
The art was the weakest aspect of this game, but the smooth and unique game play more than make up for it.
Thanks everyone! I promise to rate every game of anyone who comments :-) If I haven't gotten to you yet, I will in the next day or two!
THE MUSIC SUCKS! Hahaha I was enjoying it. Until the game plead me to mute it. Cool use of the theme and it was very funny!
Heh, nice concept and it's very funny seeing all those comments. Did you purposefully add music you thought was bad so as to add those comments or did you add them when you noticed it wasn't to your liking ?
BEST AUDIO! HAHA!
So where's my $1,000,000?
Pretty neat, short, and I like the variety!
I wonder if there's an end of you whining on that game. Must play again!
haha!
xD
@oajfh: I actually made the music in ten minutes just messing around with Terry Cavanagh's new music maker Bosca Ceoil, not intending to put it in the game. A few hours later, I figured why the heck not, I'll stick it in the game. I put the "press M to mute" message in, and that's when random stupid inspiration struck! XD
Good game. Something new and clever. Especially made funnier when the text was self aware about the music.
My score: 264!
The base game was pretty cool. The extra bits you made...well, I'm glad to see somebody playing around with meta elements a bit!

TEAMS: Teams entering the Jam should pick a single representative to submit your game, or create a team specific account you can share. We currently do not support Team Voting, but sharing an account and together playing and rating games is acceptable.
NOT LOGGED IN?: If you get a message about not being logged in, even though you are, it’s because your web browser cached the non-logged in page. You can fix this by either refreshing your cache or clearing your cache. CTRL+F5 in many browsers. Chrome is a bit more work. Press F12 to enable Developer Mode, then you can right click on the refresh button and select “Empty Cache and Hard Reload”. This option is unavailable if you are not in Developer Mode.
PORTS: Ports to other platforms can be done after the deadline. That said, the sooner you finish your port, the sooner people can play your game, improving your chances of placing in the final results. For best results, provide a Web version of your game, or a Windows version with no dependencies. Also be sure to rate about 20 games to improve your visibility.
MY GAME DOESN’T SHOW UP: If you can’t find your game, it’s usually because the URL to your downloads are missing ‘http://‘. Fix your URLs (http://mysite.com/mygame.zip) and you will show up.
MY GAME CRASHES, IS UNBEATABLE, OR I MADE A TYPO: We allow you to fix crash or win condition bugs after the deadline (in a sense, like “porting” to support more players). We also allow “typo” bugs. I.e. A true that should have been a false, a word that should have been a different word, very tiny changes that you would have caught if you had more sleep. We leave this open to interpretation, but generally speaking your game should be identical to the game you submitted. No new features, just things you messed up last minute. Typos.
That was something new.
played it a second time but muted the game, it's just not the same...
