Robo Hipster Annihilator 9000
(Z) - Interact
(X) - Annihilate
Arrows Keys - Move
The Robot Overlord has issued an important mission...
Identify and annihilate all hipsters... perhaps enjoy some fine art on the way.
Make sure to interact with the targets first.
Innocent life forms should be spared the robot wrath.
* No hipsters were harmed in the creation of this game.
** I would probably be considered a hipster by most, so please realize this is just a general goof against douche baggery.
Tested on:
Mac OS X 10.7.5 with Java 7, and Windows 7 with Java 7
(you need Java)

8-bit sprites were cool. Well, they were cool back when I did them originally...
Really liked the idea, but was a bit confused by what was going on. Graphics and title are great, too!
I love the music loop and the art is striking. I also laughed, literally, outloud at some of the lines.
A+ Would play again.
would be great to have walk animation/movement. Having depth makes me want to move up and down like a Beat-em-Up
This was pretty fun - pew pew!
Took me a minute to figure out you could only annihilate them while talking.
Hilarious stuff, testing my hipster radar :) .
Great voice acting too! I encountered a bug though. A hipster resurrected after i annihilated him, then became an innocent. I found out after I annihilated him.
I liked it. Made me laugh =)
Didn't realise there was non-hipsters to avoid at first and I accidentally destroyed one. I liked the concern for that too =P
All in all a good job.
You can not annihilate the hipsters, not at all what I was expected.
This game should be called Robo Hipster Interactions
I spent a decent amount of time trying to get jglfw to build and it just wasn't happening. I have to leave it unrated for now, but I'll try again later.
Great game, although by ~round 5 I had seen all of the possible hipster phrases and it got a bit monotonous. Good work though.
I was playing this game way before it was on the Most Coolness list. :) I like the graphics, but I couldn't figure out the gameplay... wish it was longer.
Like the sprites and fits the theme. Like the humor, it reminds me of a game you've probably never played :P
You can annihilate hipsters. and it is fun! great game, great graphics.
This was pretty funny, some of the comments were hilarious! wish there has been more of them, the game got pretty repetitive quickly after you have read all the messages and know what to kill. Great sounds too, really liked the robot voice.
This was unique, simple and hilarious. Really great job. It reminded of the work of a french writer who was heavily influenced by Albert Camus... Mmmm, nevermind, you've probably never heard of him.
Loved the art, music and dialogue. I think there might be a bug though - no matter what I did, the 'X' button always told me to find a target first.
absolutely brilliant. Will totally check out your other stuff if you have any
I don't know if I was playing it the right way. I pressed X and it didn't kill. The concept is really fun, nice way of making fun of the theme.
I ran it on Windows 8 and it worked perfectly fine for me. Pretty funny dialogue and nice style. Found a bug when I killed a hipster close to a wall he kept on rolling around the gallery dead for the rest of the round :)
Cool little game, pretty funny too. Not that I approve of killing hipsters :p.
Haha, wonderful :D I love the hipster's monologues and the robot's snide remarks. Very well done.
Odd that the levels were the same when all you needed to do was write different quotes. Nice music!
Loved it on OSX. Made me laugh when I annihilated my first hipster.
Super cool! Had to read the comments to figure out how annihilating worked, but after that it was very fun :)
I gave this a remarkably high score, considering that it isn't like __amazing__. I think you pretty much hit the button with this as far as LD48 entries go.
It preminded me of a game about the Turing test: an online multiplayer game in which cyborg hunters interview cyborgs... and each other!
Some of the quotes really had me laughing. The target system seemed very buggy, though.
Wow, this was ridiculously hilarious. Had thorough fun! 'kiss my tin can!"
The hipster lines are hilarious :DDD
The game is really cool, but I had a bit of trouble with the "Interaction" key, sometimes it would not respond.
Despite this, great job! :)
Great audio, the simple music is really nice. Enjoyed the concept and the text made me laugh.
this game made me laugh :D clever writing and like the retro graphics nice!
Haha! That was funny! Really enjoyed it, even if its more of a joke. My one critique is: Hey! whats wrong with arcade fire!
lol.
It's pretty humor and fun! :p
I like the robot vocal and dialog lol.
Score 12
Round 4
Really cool game. I liked the sound. Good job :)

TEAMS: Teams entering the Jam should pick a single representative to submit your game, or create a team specific account you can share. We currently do not support Team Voting, but sharing an account and together playing and rating games is acceptable.
NOT LOGGED IN?: If you get a message about not being logged in, even though you are, it’s because your web browser cached the non-logged in page. You can fix this by either refreshing your cache or clearing your cache. CTRL+F5 in many browsers. Chrome is a bit more work. Press F12 to enable Developer Mode, then you can right click on the refresh button and select “Empty Cache and Hard Reload”. This option is unavailable if you are not in Developer Mode.
PORTS: Ports to other platforms can be done after the deadline. That said, the sooner you finish your port, the sooner people can play your game, improving your chances of placing in the final results. For best results, provide a Web version of your game, or a Windows version with no dependencies. Also be sure to rate about 20 games to improve your visibility.
MY GAME DOESN’T SHOW UP: If you can’t find your game, it’s usually because the URL to your downloads are missing ‘http://‘. Fix your URLs (http://mysite.com/mygame.zip) and you will show up.
MY GAME CRASHES, IS UNBEATABLE, OR I MADE A TYPO: We allow you to fix crash or win condition bugs after the deadline (in a sense, like “porting” to support more players). We also allow “typo” bugs. I.e. A true that should have been a false, a word that should have been a different word, very tiny changes that you would have caught if you had more sleep. We leave this open to interpretation, but generally speaking your game should be identical to the game you submitted. No new features, just things you messed up last minute. Typos.
My annihilation button did nothing on Windows 8, but I thoroughly enjoyed interacting and reading all the dialogue. Nice job.
