Chez Angelo is my 2nd LD !
You play as Angelo, the night he will use the power of the last flower on earth to go back in time, but what will he do ? It's a mystery.
Controls:
Press WQSD to move, E to interact, space to jump.
For AZERTY user, you can press alt+shift to go qwerty, or edit input in the windows version.
The windows version also contain my rendering mode "level 6" for better lightning/shaders.
Known bugs:
-An odd graphical glitch appears on boxes near a window
-Sometimes you can't pick up key/item with E, try to get it from elsewhere, like an other position, from behind it, from facing it a little far etc
Source:
The source file is about 100Mo but it include ALL the project for Unity, so you can study it, edit it or improve it, i'd love to see what you can do with it !
Music sheets are not included, but it was done with lmms.
All sound effects and vocals are made with Bfxr.
All textures files were made with Photoshop.
Making this into a full game only depends on YOU ! Do YOU want me to work 2 months making the full game ?

Thanks mate, if only i had time to fully explain this little story !
Really cool vibe and feel. I was a little confused by the ending? Guessing you ran out of time?
Precisely! Every end is the begining of something else, and in fact this little part at the end is a little bonus scene i decided last minute to put on...
Great job, so many promising entries still to check but surely i will come back to study your project. Thanks for share
Amazing!! So immersive, I loved the quirky graphics too. A few bugs but they don't even matter compared to everything else.
Somebody has a fondness for Thirty Flights :p
It was a bit too abstract for my tastes, but that's just me. Well put together little thing you've got there.
Really cool game, I love the athmosphere although i don't seem to be able to do anything. Pressing E on light cylinders turns them off and on, on boxes it kicks them away, but I can't get them to the roof area.
@semi you don't really need to get boxes on the roof, but i will try to break my own game doing that instead of talking to the groom near the fence :D
Nice, great atmosphere, good music and sounds and good narration but too many glitches/bugs imho
great ambiance, very thiry flights. Nice job on the music and the "everybody lookin' at me"-thing :D
was really scary the ambient and the sound hehe i felt like i was part of a sect
I never found the key but had a blast nonetheless! It's always fun to try break stuff in interactive 3D enviroments, here's the results of my best efforts: http://imgur.com/RfU1jWk http://imgur.com/WTrm2D1
Latter was achieved by jumping on an NPC's head, moving towards back of their head (which causes them to spin in ludicrous speed) and jumping again. Wheeee!
Thirty Flights has been mentioned, but this reminded me of Space Funeral. There's a similar element of familiar gaming surroundings warped.
Entertaining litte game you got here, I expect a sequel/full version soon! xD
Oh boy and i thought i've done something this time to prevent this ! Well done, sir. I think you can break more with the boxes i left ^^ Anyway, thanks for Space Funeral, i didn't know about it, will give it a try !
(don't forget to talk to the guy in red in front of the locker)
Very stylish... Annoying plink plonk music actually fits pretty well in helping with tension. Mouselook seems a bit rapid. Camera glitch when turn to right just after going through "curtain" at bottom of stairs. Very Very impressive overall. Excellent double step ending... and TBC !
I got problems with the mouse sensitivity in the windows version (it was far too high). Very intensive atmosphere, somehow psychedelic. Played your last Ludum Dare entry and I smiled as I saw the screenshot on the wall. What a strange trip :)
wow. just wow. that was incredible beautiful and touching experience. thank you so much
A little bit confusing, but loving the futuristic sect atmosphere of the game. Reminds of the Cathedral from Fallout 1 :)
But.. but.. what happens next D: I must know! Very nice game you've got going here :) Look forward to the finished version :P
Loved the attention to detail, the humour and surreality of the experience.
Also, not only were there potato easter eggs, but one referencing your first LD game which I remember playing. :D
I like the atmosphere! Very surreal and mysterious.. Nice attention for details..
Also, if you stand on a NPC head, you will spin around like crazy.
Thank you so much everyone ! I hope one day I'll make a big LD with all characters that i've created in a kind of big story !
ctrl-shift only works if you have several keyboards installed. I don't have that because I hit ctrl-shift by accident a lot.
It's a mystery without conclusion. The mood is perfect, the lighting and music do a lot.
It begs for more.
How does it fit into the theme?
Oh, I played your previous entry (A small village), there's a lot of improvements since back then !
A lot of characters to talk to, a lot of objects to interact with, your game is full of life ! This kind of narrative game reminds me Thirty Flights of Loving.
Had a great time, until I had to found the key. I did find it but I wasn't able to pick it up :/ Can you help ? (I first talk to the guy next to the flower, then to the guy downstairs, jump over the bar, pressed E looking at the key but nothing happened :( )
I want to finish this great game !
Sometimes alt+shift works ! I'll add it thanks for noticing. The theme is omnipresent in my game: paintings, cloth, the flower, the fact that nothing of all a career in art matter... Everyone can see what he wants !
Nice graphics, story is intriguing. Would love to see more.
It's a bit dark (my monitor is normally set to less than max contrast/brightness). Nice work. Funny how many LD games this time have got inspiration from Piet Mondrian's paintings. :)
Good entry ! I like the little creepiness of all the people looking at you when you got near them... The story was fun but at the end it was too much, so I jump out of the world ! :D
Good job for 48h !
WOW that was wild! Please make more games for this series, I have to know what happens to Angelo! such a simple, fun game.
Really cool. Reminds me of Thirty Flights of Loving, with a bit of Proteus in there. Can't wait to see more.
Creepy game, the music and that everyone is staring at you, creepy.
Didn't quite get it... is it even theme related? felt like if I was playing some community Little Big Planet level...
I pressed E on the key and it wouldn't pick up? So I never got to travel in time.
Pretty cool environments. I played your previous game too, that was also cool. This one was more like Thirty Flights, indeed.
This game had a wonderful ambiance. I never found the key, but had a lot of fun exploring the immersive world.
The graphics in the first phase remind me of those Blendo games. Didn't understand the storyline at all though :p
You really should finish this game. In its current state it is a bit confusing, and buggy. I did get to the end, and I sense a deeper story to be told. All in all a good game. Good job!
Ha, while I got a bit motion sick I enjoyed that a lot. Huge fan of Brendon Chung. Gravity Bone etc. Didn't quite see the theme. Ending was a highlight. 'It's a light.'
It almost had an eerie feel to it with the music and the people's faces. Cool mystery!
Really set the mood with this one, wanted to explore everything. It would be awesome if you polished this up and expanded upon it in the future. Thanks for making!
I don't know why, but after jumping on the head of some guys a flying dude following me appeared.
Wow, this is a very deep game and very dream-like! I enjoyed this very much! It was pretty sappy. Would be cool if the game just kept on repeating and the flowers just keep adding in the end ;)
Overall, great style and mood!
I played all the way to the end. It was fun to explore and try to figure out what I was supposed to do. I enjoyed the strange boxhead people. It was a bit tough to pick up the second flower, I almost didn't get it to work, but then it finally did. I liked the minimal art style.
I enjoyed the atmosphere of your games and the controls felt really tight. nice job :)
Quirky. Clunky controls, especially picking up items. Also those faces CREEP ME OUT.
Oh, forgot to mention. That music going BOONNNNNNG! BOONNNNNG! every two seconds is PAINFUL IN MY EARS.
The music and ambience really set a nice atmosphere! Nice job!
You've managed to create a very interesting little universe here. The short length meant that there wasn't much to see... but the inventiveness made me want to see it all. Truly a mark of good design. Good show!
Love all of the audio effects, just not the music so much. Everything else was just really refreshing and lovely and great. More of this please :)
Also had problems with the mouse input in the web player but going fullscreen fixed that.
I tried forever to pick up the key but couldn't, nonetheless I really enjoyed playing the game. Before I figured out that I could press E everyone was just silent looking at me and with the information from the posters I finally figured out who I was when I got to the roof which was kind of a cool feeling.
Great little game, loved playing it!
Nice mood. Sadly it ends without a real ending :) love to see the story continue!
beautiful game indeed , it was a strange change in events when it becomes about his love , with no previous reference , the environment was great , but the ending was disappointing , I jumped from the scene of the last level and kept falling for eternity :(
The end felt a little lacking but after reading the comments I totally understand.
Wow, what a nice game :) the mood was awesome, would like to see another sequel.
I agree that it does seem to have a little Thirty Flights of Loving feel to it but the atmosphere is extremely well-done. Impressive feat considering it was done in mere 2 days.
Very cool! Nice graphics and lighting but kind of lagging on my computer. Otherwise great game!
Very trippy feeling - feels a little incomplete there towards the end though.
Eerie atmosphere! I enjoyed all the character comments and suspense. Interesting artistic approach.
Pretty cool!
I like the ambient, music, and the action everyone look at me suddenly, just like a horror game :D
Good job!
I really wish I could figure out what I'm supposed to do here. I love the music and graphics... and I'm pretty sure I caught a "Catherine" reference in the barman asking if you know where a Cuba Libre comes from.
But really I was just totally lost after a certain point.
Alright, I figured it out. That was truly awesome, even if it *was* a cliffhanger. Kudos to you!
Also, I noticed the little reference to your last LD entry in one of the photographs on the wall. :)
Yup, that was a Catherine reference :) There's still some reference/easter eggs to find my friends ! And thank you all for your comments, it really boosts me ! I want to make the sequel for all of you now !
Really cute game! I remember playing your game last LD, nice reference! (;
Eerie vibe, especially when the faces turn around and stare at you. Started to feel a little self-conscious with all those creepy faces staring at me! Finally found my way upstairs! Great atmosphere and fun to explore.
Lovely potato. Hit detection was a bit wonky but I go to the "end". Nice reference to your previous King game ;)
I had troubles reading subtitles near the tomb, the went away really fast. So I got stuck there, not knowing what to do...
Anyways, that's a solid entry :) I really like the odd feeling of everyone starring at me all the time, great effect!
quite liked it altho after walking around upstairs i couldnt figure out what i was supposed to do.. (prob just me being daft ;p) good job :)
Nice game man! Wanna know what happens next hahaha. Using E to pickup items is really clunky, also the music at the bar has a 'Ting!' that gets really annoying after a while.
I liked the story concept nevertheless! Keep it up
I really enjoyed this... game... fever dream-type thing. But when I found the key, I couldn't pick it up no matter how much I tried. :(
I'll give it another go soon. But the level of detail that went into this one is breathtaking. From the buildings outside to the waving painting flyers, it's just a very surreal and brilliant experience. Very good work on your part!
Great mood. I rather enjoyed the odd visual style. I had trouble with text disappearing before I read it, (Perhaps I clicked 'e' twice?) which caused some troubles and resulted in me running around clicking everything to try and continue.
Very impressive. The game has a certain surreal, unsettling mood at times that was well done. Would have liked to see some more done around it, but there was a lot here for the time it took to develop. And, like others have mentioned, no matter how hard I tried I couldn't pick up that damn key.
I didn't reach the ending (read later that there's an interact button) but i enjoyed it. I found it fun to jump up on the bar and then jump on an NPC's head. The NPC tries to continually face you so you end up doing super fast circles on his head :D
The game was cool, the music and setting were awesome. But the ending was meh.
I liked to explore this and talk with NPCs.. But I didn't get what should I do :(
Most 'WTF' entry so far. :) Clearly, an awful lot of thought and work went into this. Very 'off the wall' and original. Well done! (BTW, I had to cheat a bit by reading the comments)
Nice game!
The dialogue at the beginning intrigued me. The jump to another level was totally surprising, I did not expect that.
Too bad it doesn't have an ending :(
Great visuals and atmosphere! The controls could use some work though.
Very nice, reminded me a lot of Thirty Flights of Loving. I hope you continue with it.
Cool atmosphere, very creepy. Was a little buggy and the controls were weird but a very cool idea.
i really liked the mood of the game. at first it felt weird but the overall style really got to me. well done!
Wow, I honestly didn't think I would see a game this hip and indie in ludum dare! Couldn't find the flower though, no matter how hard I looked and then eventually jumped on some dude's head and started spinning. When I got off, the force just like threw me out of the building lol
Interesting story. Really buggy and choppy in the web version. I spent so much time looking for that key.
Wow, that's a lot of 3D level design for 48 hours. Good job! There was quite a mood through the whole game, but I think the creepiest part was when everyone around the stage was staring at me with those little beady eyes.
Sometimes key items seemed a little difficult to interact with (the key, the second flower). I had to get fiddly with the camera and my position relative to the item to make it work.
A great game, and I hope you'll continue to work on this on the future :)
I really liked how I got involved in such an intense story all of a sudden, and to discover what was going on, and why was I so important. The simplistic and abstract graphics are not for my taste, but I think it has an excellent ambient to tell the story. Hope to see it complete soon!
Okay guys, i might publish it on final version on a bundle or steam ! (giving free keys to the LD !)
At first I thought it was a game with a creepy/scary atmosphere and the fire in the bar almost made me scream :D
All the interactions with the NPC and the background are a big plus.
Overall, very nice mood, really too bad it's not completely finished ^^
I really didn't like all the backtracking and i found the music to be repetitive but, the story was cool and the immersion through not letting the player no everything about it was great.
gave me chills when i entered the room and everybody turned to face me D:
The camera has too much sensitivity. Maybe it would be better if the player was able to configure it. Except for that, the game is nice =]
Great work, cant wait to play more experiences like this. The interacting part of picking up keys and necessary actions could use some love, like making the key disappear and maybe a sound effect to know when the player has progressed.
I spent like 20 minutes trying to find that key... almost gave up but then I found it and finished the game. Overall a great experience, with a little room for improvement on the picking up and subtitle-duration parts. Love the music and atmosphere. :)
Freaky, yet beautiful. I love the way you've designed the characters, as well as the way the music changes when you enter the crowded room. Neat story, would love to see more.
I'm amazed at what a great environment and setting you could make in the time. I really liked the feel of the game, and lots of interesting content!
I shows that you put effort in to this. I did not find the key though... after 10 min. I like the level of detail but not to big of a fan for the faces. Well that's just me. I whish you luck if you make a full game, you will not need it ;).
As everyone else, I couldn't pick the key, but the mood and the characters were pretty cool. It was nice to explore such a bustling 3D map. Great job!
maybe it's just me (and my crappy computer's fault) but the controls in the web version don't go well and sometimes I got stuck... D:
but anyways, I loved the art :D (it remembers me one particular game but I can't remember wich one is now....)
Cool game. Sound was a little annoying, but I would like to see where you take this. Good job :)
I could actually pick up all the items (after some fumbling around...) and then completed the game... I think! Nice game, but for some reason I feared that it would be some kind of horror game (won't tell details of what I thought, shameon me!), so I was a bit afraid... but there was no horror so I guess I'm safe, for now... ;)
Interesting story. I was very surprised by the Mondrian curtains.
Good mood and atmosphere. It's very fun to play and discover the environment.
What a pity, I never found the key. :(
