It was very difficult to get the car on the road, not sure what the direction was intended to go. Music was cool. Controls need some work.
Not the worst game I have seen, but not the best either. The sound effects are annoying at best, and the game just isn't fun after you realize you can go through the grass just as fast as the road.
Thanks for comments!
Controls difficulty is wanted, but yeah, they need some work.
I started yesterday to develop, so I submitted to the Jam instead of Compo.
I really like the sounds (especially the one at the end of the level, which only plays on my rear speakers and is hence even more awesome somehow), but the fact that going off the road carries no penalty sort of makes everything moot. I'm also not super happy with the car responsiveness. I've been working on a Micro Machinns clone recently, and I THINK that what you are doing is adjusting the turning rate relative to the player's speed (at least that's what it feels like). I tried that and found that it didn't feel "right". Cars don't always understeer all of the time like that, and it's not really fun to drive an unresponsive car anyway.
Core concept is good, needs to be more like Micro Machines, great sound.
nintendo thanks for the detailed comment!
You get it! I tried to add this strange controls to the car to experiment a play focused on medium velocity of the car, but seems that it didn't seems to be a feature to players but a bug.
I ran out of time to add off road penalities ^^'
I love the music, but the vehicle handles very poorly, it does fit the theme well though.
Good game, but controls need some improvement. I also think max speed should be lower when you run on the grass.
Good collision detection on other cars. :)
Good take on the theme, you should try to make a post-compo version bug-free!
The green map tiles start to flicker sometimes (Windows 7). I think there are too many obstacles on the road to have a proper flow in playing. And why can I drive on the green tiles? That makes it very easy. The goal should be not a single tile and a line instead, because with the strange controls it gets difficult to hit even with slow driving. Just keep working on this game. A lot of people release "post-compo" versions (excluded from the rating) to show even better versions of their game!
Yes, a little glitchy but I intend it as a experimental game. Not bad!
Thanks for comments! I'm already working on a post-jam version of it!
Physics were kind of annoying; dirt piles seemed to slow me down for a certain amount of time (rather than while I was on them), which was weird. Not sure if large turning radius was meant to be the challenge, but the road was too cluttered for it to be really feasible to go around the things.
Nice entry
With a little bit polish and an appropriate description on How the controls works it can became a great game :D
I missed having some sort of enforcement to keep the car on the road, instead of avoiding all obstacles by going through the grass. Maybe one idea to make the game more challenging, after fixing the grass bug, is to make the car accelerate by itself. Thus the player goal would be to minimize the speed in order to get safely through the obstacles.
Thanks all for comments! Very useful! I made a post Jam version of it: http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?iwm1j3nlmohjzc8
Hope you enjoy that!

TEAMS: Teams entering the Jam should pick a single representative to submit your game, or create a team specific account you can share. We currently do not support Team Voting, but sharing an account and together playing and rating games is acceptable.
NOT LOGGED IN?: If you get a message about not being logged in, even though you are, it’s because your web browser cached the non-logged in page. You can fix this by either refreshing your cache or clearing your cache. CTRL+F5 in many browsers. Chrome is a bit more work. Press F12 to enable Developer Mode, then you can right click on the refresh button and select “Empty Cache and Hard Reload”. This option is unavailable if you are not in Developer Mode.
PORTS: Ports to other platforms can be done after the deadline. That said, the sooner you finish your port, the sooner people can play your game, improving your chances of placing in the final results. For best results, provide a Web version of your game, or a Windows version with no dependencies. Also be sure to rate about 20 games to improve your visibility.
MY GAME DOESN’T SHOW UP: If you can’t find your game, it’s usually because the URL to your downloads are missing ‘http://‘. Fix your URLs (http://mysite.com/mygame.zip) and you will show up.
MY GAME CRASHES, IS UNBEATABLE, OR I MADE A TYPO: We allow you to fix crash or win condition bugs after the deadline (in a sense, like “porting” to support more players). We also allow “typo” bugs. I.e. A true that should have been a false, a word that should have been a different word, very tiny changes that you would have caught if you had more sleep. We leave this open to interpretation, but generally speaking your game should be identical to the game you submitted. No new features, just things you messed up last minute. Typos.
Poorly made and very glitchy.
