As usual, you are truly a master of the ludum dare. Even though I didn't find the concept very innovative at the beginning, you do it so fucking well and the way the paladin explores the dungeon is awesome. Loved the things he says, and the idea of evil orbs and chests.
Wow- deepnight. EVERY Ludum Dare you do is amazing. This is no exception- fun, innovative. Keep up the great work! (and build this thing out... you could totally sell this)
Love the comments! Made me think of this http://theoatmeal.com/comics/online_gaming
I love that you have a button to stop the music (not that the music was bad). The art is great and the humor is fantastic. One of my favorite ones yet.
5/5, not only is this the best game of the LD25, it's also one of the best web games I've seen in a while
It's innovative, the graphics are great, the sounds, the gameplay, everything is done perfectly
I'm proud to be french for once ! :)
Like always, it's not a pretty awesome game, it's a really awesome game : Graphics of hero, mobs are beautiful, reaction of characters are funny, good job !
Another great entry, I really love your graphical style. The way the hero explores the dungeon is really believable, and the swarming of the zombies is brilliant
Amazing game!! Please release a full version with more levels! :)
Awesome game! You can tell that this isn't your first flash/sprite based game :)
OMG this is amazing game! best I've played so far!
Simple but very fun and well done game mechanics.
Graphics and sound are awesome. Great idea. I really LOLed at heroes comments.
5 STARS
Always great graphics! Gameplay could be a bit more strategically.
"Your minions sucks"... I laughed so hard!
Perfect game, Deepnight!
Awesome game, although some of the spawning feels a bit too "spammy" (maybe that's just my way of trying to solve it). Would be awesome being able to place traps or more static things (similar to chests).
This is pretty awesome, I have no idea how you did this in 48 hours.
Absolutely fantastic! Your visuals are stellar, like always - I absolutely love that "mosaic" aesthetic. Your code's behavior and polish is also really solid here! On top of that, including two working heroes is very impressive. And the text is even funny!
My only legitimate criticism here is that once you understand how the treasure chests work, the orb mechanic becomes kind of irrelevant since you can just chain chests forever. It's nice that the orbs force the hero to explore the whole level, but maybe you could have simplified things by starting the level with a few chests where the orbs would be instead?
Difficult but rewarding. I was surprised there was a second level (and maybe more?) Graphics are amazing, as usual. I wish I had more tools at my disposal but spawning dudes is satisfying and looks great so it's a minor complaint.
This is incredible! I love this one! great idea for the game and such beautifull art!
Gah that wizard is annoying! I think this might be my favorite game so far.
Pretty much exactly what this compo is all about. Great work!
Great stuff! I found the hero's comments to be genuinely hurtful- it's MY dungeon, I'm sorry if you think it's a wreck ;n;
Great graphics and good aesthetic quality. Albeit flashy I didn't find the gameplay very fun.
Wow... I... I dunno what to say, this is amazing beyond words. It's better than most Jam games. I'm having so much trouble believing this was done in 48 hours by one person! It's very fun, funny, good gameplay, etc. The only issue is lagginess sometimes, but that can't even begin to bring this down for me. 5/5 on everything, and I can say that honestly! I'd be surprised if you didn't win this competition!
And the Hero mocks you! I ended wanting to play more of this!
Sorry if I can't rate more than 5, in every aspect! ;)
Staggering accomplishment for a weekend or a week! Looks and sounds great. I'm curious what engine was used.
Great job! Well polished for a 48-hour game. Reminds me of Dungeons, but I had more fun playing this one :P
A very accomplished entry. The interpretation of the theme is pretty standard, but the implementation and level of polish for 48 hours is amazing.
That was really awesome, can't believe it only took 48 hours to make. really fun game...
That was hugely impressive. You should definitely consider fleshing it out with more monster types. Really liked everything about it.
Very nice but i'd like it if it relied less on number of enemies and more on strategy.
Except some performance problem on my computer, I have no words for this. Totally unbelievable it could be done in just 48 hrs.
This is one of the best games so far. Graphics are great the sound is awesome aswell and the difficulty is hard enough but not too too hard its just right down the middle.
Best game i've played so far... I'm really impressed. Works perfectly, well balanced.
Sooo amazing. Watching the timelapse is like: "Fuxk, this guy really did all these in 48 hrs!"
Really addictive, in the 2nd dungeon my only criticism is that while i understand the light region of the hero being bigger it was almost impossible to spawn monsters as there was too little screen space considering walls etc. Great game!
Very awesome game man! Love the style, the music, the sounds, the AI is great, player retention is really great! :)
Wow ... how did you do this in only 48 hours? Awesome work, best game so far :D
AWESOME!! I like it too much!!! My only suggestion is set the numeric keys to change the mobs, MMORPG like... Very good, Congratulations!!
What else is there to say? He knows he's good. We know he's good. The game is amazing. It's fun as crap. It looks gorgeous. I just wish there were more levels :p
Graphics pretty sick! Love it. Nice game play.
I feel Knights is kinda strong. It's good thing to start spawning horde of zombies into it.
Well balance as well, as only quantity won't do much damage, they die quick. Nice job.
Excellent! ;-)
AwesoOOOooooOOoooooooooooome! Some tiles are a bit redondant(joke) but it's "beauuuu quoi !"
So nice to be the DM for once!
Thank you everyone for all your really kind comments ^_^
Really touching!
Source code (Haxe) has been released, check my blog :
blog.deepnight.net
Great work! Looks and sounds fantastic and a solid implementation of the idea.
Excellentissime rien a dire quoi :)
Ca ramouille un peu quand on spam trop dommmage mais vraiment super niveau design !!
The game is really great ! The tutorial is simple and fast, we understand the game easily. Maybe the only bad point is the miss of a ally to spawn that cost 15 or 20 points :/
Excellent and a ton of fun, as usual :)
I love the random ghosts sprites above all else!
I'll go spawn some more zombies packs now ;)
The best game i've seen here, a very good job, i got to say contragulation !!
Bah. I cannot even add anything new to the above comments! So perfect it hurts! :D Congrats on another astonishing entry!
That was a fun and frantic game. :-) Really liked the idea of controlling the minions. I thought it worked played really well.
love this game! I especially love the hero's dialog, especially the wizard
Woah, everything was great and how can you fit more the theme than like this.
Super fun, slick and polished like all of your games. Well done, great stuff. I had a ton of fun with this. Everything was here (art, sound, music and most of all fun gameplay).
Woo!!
It's really so fun!
I like the game! art, gameplay, audio, are all amazing!
Haha pretty good entrance!!
I really liked it, the things that the good guy say are awesomely funny ;)
I really enjoyed it. I hope you will continue on it and add more levels and minions.
Amazing job! :D Everything tied together extremely well! Love the art!
Very good job !! It seems you have your own game development style (I saw your blog).. proof of your talent ! Bravo :)
I was expecting Wonder Girl as a third hero.
Did you find a way to dilate time in order to make 48 hours a week ?
The art is really amazing, and the game reminded me of Dungeon Keeper. I can see it becoming a bigger project with a proper story and many levels. At any rate, good job!
Great game. Was I the only one who found it really hard? Perhaps a little more monster variation (ranged units, ones with shields?) but altogether a nice idea and, even better, incredibly polished!
Great game! I didn't feel that it was especially funny or innovative, but I definitely can't mark it below average on either count. I felt challenged but not overwhelmed, and even managed to beat the second level first time through (I was surprised). Excellent job, a very cohesive effort; time was well spent on all fronts.
Thanks again everyone for all the comments! T_T
@iandioch > you're right, the game would require a little more monster types, like turrets and better balancing. The shield idea is good too! I take note :)
I posted a post-mortem on my blog : [ blog.deepnight.net ]
The idea is fun and well executed, it stands out from the sea of entries. Hoping to see you take this even further with more content.
The only flaw I found was that the game crashed after the first level on Opera. However, I tried again and didn't encounter that anymore.
Good: Niiice graphics and the gameplay is solid!
Improve: Did not find any goats. Endgame?
Fantastic game! The most complete and polished entry I've played so far. Fun and challenging -- and the taunts the heroes speak add to that.
Deepnight, you always manage to pull off some amazing games for these jams. Kudos!
That was a pretty fun game, and it made me FEEL evil, as I threw all those creepers at the hero. Damn, I hate hate hate that hero :-D
The hero could have been a bit more intelligent though. Since monster 3 and 2 could shoot/attack through walls, all you really needed to do was to slow the hero down with hordes of zombies until you could put a shooting monster in the back lines.
The one liners from the heroes and monsters were gold, and the game was gorgeous.
Thanks for the game!
Very well done. I had a hard time with the second level the first time, managed to win the second time. Would play additional levels if you build them.
Perfect. I don't think one could do better in 48h. Heroes are hoooooorible things calling every thing "noobs" and ARRRR take that you evil hero T_T
In addition, the game is beautifull (art, colors, ambiance), the sounds create immersion, a good tutorial.
Thanks a lot for this game.
really polished with nice game feel. I liked the way the zombies spawned. Basically I would end up spamming zombies and then have one 30-monster.
simply amazing how much quality you can put in a single game is so little time
Wow, that was incredible. Not really sure how you keep pulling stuff like this off, but bravo!
Beautiful graphics, great mood, good concept - the game-play itself needs some polish... but, pretty fantastic effort anyway
Great stuff -- first 5* overall, thoroughly enjoyed playing :)
Amazing! Can't believe that you did alone with 48 hours!
It is a hard game, but short and it is good this way.
Once you make an strategy, it is beatable.
Great job!
Impressive quality. I just find amazing how such game could be created in 48h. I truly need to learn how to do the things you do!! :D
Whurbl? Just making all these animations graphics would take me 3 days, and they would suck. Truly inspiring to see such a good entry. Any comments I have are pointless as the polish and feel you've created in 2 days is amazing. Time to start practicing drawing...
Incredible game! I really like the idea and the graphics were above great.
Overall good, but the dull AI and spammyness takes away most of the strategy, you can just chain chests anywhere and use the big guys in another room whittling the hero down, and block him with huge hordes of zombies forever.
Awesome work for 48 hours! Graphics, sounds were great. those little speeches really add to the game.
I found it very difficult though, or perhaps I just had bad strategy, lost it at the wizard.
As usual a beautiful looking game. Loved the little comments the hero makes, and filling a room with the goblin dudes.
Flawless, again, I really enjoyed this so thank you! The way the creeps spring out of the cursor is so juicy, the Hero's characterisation with the snide comments is un-intrusive but adds so much flavour. Excellent animation and sound, clear to see how well you are doing etc. Perhaps some kind of stats screen on fail to encourage another go would be a good extension?
Awesome game! Not sure if there is a real strategy, just kept clicking to get the health down.
There he goes again! Just fucking amazing, why do I even bother writing a comment?! :D
Congrats for getting highest overall, this goes beyond the usual jam game.
A great game. Was very fun. I didn't need to look at the author to know who made this game. Your pixel rendering has been the same for all of your submissions. You are getting the graphics vote without any effort. I would not give this entry innovation since you have already done this rendering style many times. Step that portion up.

IMPORTANT NOTE: If you want to place in the final results, you NEED votes. The easiest way to get votes is by rating other games. Judging lasts for 3 weeks following the end of Ludum Dare. For best effect, rate 20 games as soon as possible. Rating more games is encouraged.
MORE TIPS AND DETAILS AT THE BOTTOM OF THIS PAGE
REMEMBER: The “Theme” category is only for the main theme (You are the Villain). Don’t penalize for not using Goats.
TEAMS: Teams entering the Jam should pick a single representative to submit your game, or create a team specific account you can share. We currently do not support Team Voting, but sharing an account and together playing and rating games is acceptable.
NOT LOGGED IN?: If you get a message about not being logged in, even though you are, it’s because your web browser cached the non-logged in page. You can fix this by either refreshing your cache or clearing your cache. CTRL+F5 in many browsers. Chrome is a bit more work. Press F12 to enable Developer Mode, then you can right click on the refresh button and select “Empty Cache and Hard Reload”. This option is unavailable if you are not in Developer Mode.
We’ve identified the problem, and should have the page caching bugs fixed for next Ludum Dare.
PORTS: Ports to other platforms can be done after the deadline. That said, the sooner you finish your port, the sooner people can play your game, improving your chances of placing in the final results. For best results, provide a Web version of your game, or a Windows version with no dependencies. Also be sure to rate about 20 games to improve your visibility.
MY GAME DOESN’T SHOW UP: If you can’t find your game, it’s usually because the URL to your downloads are missing ‘http://‘. Fix your URLs (http://mysite.com/mygame.zip) and you will show up.
MY GAME CRASHES, IS UNBEATABLE, OR I MADE A TYPO: We allow you to fix crash or win condition bugs after the deadline (in a sense, like “porting” to support more players). We also allow “typo” bugs. I.e. A true that should have been a false, a word that should have been a different word, very tiny changes that you would have caught if you had more sleep. We leave this open to interpretation, but generally speaking your game should be identical to the game you submitted. No new features, just things you messed up last minute. Typos.
Incredible! Best game I've played so far. Can't believe this was done in 48 hours
