Flippin' great! Great idea and great graphix... really fun too.
Looks great and is fun. Sometimes the barrels fell down the ladders before I could grab them, but this didn't happen too often.
I have to vote pretty low on innovation, as I had the exact same idea at first. I like the gameplay, but it could use some tweaking. The barrels disappear too quickly, and it's so easy to get hit in the head that the best "strategy" seems to be to pick them up as quickly as possible and throw them away before you get hit in the head.
Liking the graphics and humour.
Oh man, this is so good Saam! The tutorial area is perfect. Well done!
Cool, I've never had so much fun killing those stupid mario and luigi clones!
I thought it was awesome! And the win screen was great. I liked that the Mario's seemed a little sneaky.
My only issues would be the speed that Konkey Dong moves at when put together with the quick despawn on the barrels. Otherwise loved every minute of it.
Clever, but I couldn't really get into the gameplay. Most of the time it felt like I was just throwing barrels at random.
Funny game! Nice graphics and gameplay. A bit easy and uneventful though. Maybe make tons of marios and let the barrels roll over them. Anyways, good game.
Who knew playing as Donkey Ko.. err I mean Konkey Dong would be that much fun!
There's something I loved about the flat faced luigi on top of the cage.
This was fun and one of the better "play the bad guys" retro remakes I've seen. Echo what someone said above about being easy and uneventful. Maybe a smaller play field, and less ladders would yield faster action. Also, barrels should last longer once they hit the ground. Dong can't get to them fast enough.
As I said in the earlier comment, I had the same idea, and it was mostly what I was expecting. The mechanics were a bit different than what I had imagined. Overall, it was quite good. I did find it a bit easy, and I think I'd echo that a smaller field might make it more eventful and possiby more challenging.
I said, I was looking forward to trying this, and I was not disappointed :)
Thanks for all the comment/feedback everyone. The difficulty of the game could definitely use some tweaking. I'm hoping to add a 2 Player mode later and really polishing some stuff. Thank for playing!
Great game. The difficulty increases to slowly. Has cute graphics.
Pretty great. I loved all the little things the little guys said when they got hit. "Ah my meatballs eh!". Haha.
Decent game. Gets boring after a while. Barrels disappear quickly. The graphics were a little traditional mario, luigi and donkey kong. You ever named the game konkey dong. Very low on innovation.
Haha my game has some similarities. Very good pixel art. Nailed the theme. Background music would have been nice. Good job!
That is a wonderful concept! I like how you have to avoid the barrels and then send them. Unfortunately you can't pay attention to what goes on below.
I've added a post Compo version: It now has a 2player mode!
Enjoy :D
Great effort! It's great to finally see things from (K)Donkey's perspective.
Thought the game was pretty solid. I'd only suggest adding a tiny bit more speed to Konkey, or maybe allowing the barrels to remain in their place longer before they disappear. Because of the speed, often it was literally impossible to get a barrel for minutes.
Great job!
While the thought of reversing popular games is a common idea in this LD, this one is implemented really good. Solid entry for a first LD. Nice graphics. The gameplay seems a bit straightforward as most of the time I didn't even think about where to throw the barrel to, but still, the game is nicely done. Good job.

IMPORTANT NOTE: If you want to place in the final results, you NEED votes. The easiest way to get votes is by rating other games. Judging lasts for 3 weeks following the end of Ludum Dare. For best effect, rate 20 games as soon as possible. Rating more games is encouraged.
MORE TIPS AND DETAILS AT THE BOTTOM OF THIS PAGE
REMEMBER: The “Theme” category is only for the main theme (You are the Villain). Don’t penalize for not using Goats.
TEAMS: Teams entering the Jam should pick a single representative to submit your game, or create a team specific account you can share. We currently do not support Team Voting, but sharing an account and together playing and rating games is acceptable.
NOT LOGGED IN?: If you get a message about not being logged in, even though you are, it’s because your web browser cached the non-logged in page. You can fix this by either refreshing your cache or clearing your cache. CTRL+F5 in many browsers. Chrome is a bit more work. Press F12 to enable Developer Mode, then you can right click on the refresh button and select “Empty Cache and Hard Reload”. This option is unavailable if you are not in Developer Mode.
We’ve identified the problem, and should have the page caching bugs fixed for next Ludum Dare.
PORTS: Ports to other platforms can be done after the deadline. That said, the sooner you finish your port, the sooner people can play your game, improving your chances of placing in the final results. For best results, provide a Web version of your game, or a Windows version with no dependencies. Also be sure to rate about 20 games to improve your visibility.
MY GAME DOESN’T SHOW UP: If you can’t find your game, it’s usually because the URL to your downloads are missing ‘http://‘. Fix your URLs (http://mysite.com/mygame.zip) and you will show up.
MY GAME CRASHES, IS UNBEATABLE, OR I MADE A TYPO: We allow you to fix crash or win condition bugs after the deadline (in a sense, like “porting” to support more players). We also allow “typo” bugs. I.e. A true that should have been a false, a word that should have been a different word, very tiny changes that you would have caught if you had more sleep. We leave this open to interpretation, but generally speaking your game should be identical to the game you submitted. No new features, just things you messed up last minute. Typos.
Nicely done, you showed that playing as a villain is pretty fun too! :D
