August 24th-27th 2012 :: Theme: Evolution
Intruder alert! A virus has entered your system!
==== Objectives ====
Try to collect as many repair nodes as you can and watch out for the pitfall holes! The virus evolves after some time making him more fiercer and faster. It is my take on the theme as opposition usually spurs evolution.

A sleek game. Interesting mechanic and setting. The artstyle was very clear. I think that each platform element could be slightly larger to create more well defined holes in the ground if that makes sense.
Great fun. Nice graphical style, best sound I have heard this LD, Great job!
Really nice pace and graphics! Couldn't see the theme at all... and it's just a little too easy... awesome work though!
Hey guys, thanks for all your comments. Just want to say that the difficulty ramps up after awhile so be sure to stick awhile.
Also, flash version now up!! :D
Very awesome! With a little more polish (in terms of dying mostly) this is the kind of game I'd expect someone to take much longer than 2 days making!
pretty good. the "ver" counter doesn't reset between games however.. and apparently I do look up :) (when falling through holes :D)
I liked your little secret (to do with looking). I am one of those people apparently.
The setting of this was really cool, the screens and animations on them were pretty smart.
Cool stuff!
Nice and very good looking ! Too bad it gets a bit boring after a while (also the music doesn't loop well =/)
Kudos for making a Linux version, unlike all the other Unity-based games.
Pretty nice game! I kept seeing your updates last night. Glad to see you got it finished.
Also, nice touch with um... you probably know what I'm talking about. Let's just say humor: 5 stars, haha.
Beautiful graphics. Lovely sense of humor, especially the sign up in the air =) I was wondering why you didn't write the points for the third level, but that is because you hardly reach it haha.
Nicely done, it all had a sharp pristine feel to it. Only thing is the music which was to loud and repetetive. Other than that it was all good.
My favorite so far!
Simple, since very addictive. The music and the screens around ys convey a great mood.
I went to level 3 on my 3rd try, then didn't manage to beat it. But I'll probably retry
Addictive and so much fun to play. Feels very much complete. Great entry.
Honestly one of my favorite games I've played today so far.
Very solid, simple, and tight mechanics. Most important, it's very fun.
And yes we do look up sometimes :)
It's a really well presented arcade game, i liked it.
My main criticism would be that you should have tweaked the movement a lot. It's way to floaty and imprecise at the moment which creates an artificial difficulty. That doesn't feel right for a game about movement and reflexes.
Apart from that it's quite fun and has even more potential to expand upon (think different height levels, for example).
Hi guys. Thanks again for your comments and suggestions. I do have plans on continuing the game after the competition. Planning to clean and refactor my code first. Then improve upon the game.
I like how the entry is comprised of simple shapes, yet ends up looking very complex. I followed your dev blog with great interest during the event, and the final result has not disappointing me.
Humans rarely look up, you know. Solid gameplay, stylish graphics.
I was following the updates. The result's kind of cool, but post-jam multiplayer would kick this to a whole new level.
You're the first fps entry I've tried that lets me invert the mouse controls. Thanks for realising that people who prefer inverted exist!
Not sure why, but I actually really enjoyed this. Probably the dynamic platforming, I played it a couple times and by the time I was getting to 35-40ish points it got really intense. Nice
I liked the fun, arcade-style gameplay in this game. The graphics were very nicely done, though I noticed the music didn't loop properly. Still, awesome job! :) (And humans look up, sometimes anyway). ;)
Fun game, I enjoyed playing it. Thanks for that. Really good job! PS Appreciate your comment
Really well made, the difficulty curve ramp up nicely. The game concept seem simple on the surface, but you manage to execute it really well. My only grip is the lack of alternative key layout for us, non qwerty keyboard user :) I played with the arrow keys, but the jump key was too far to reach.
It's incredibly frustrating that it's first person. Oddly enough I find that to be a very good thing for the game.
Really nice and clean game.
I had some problems with my AZERTY keyboard. Even if I change my keyboard language into english, it doesn't recognize WASD correctly so I had to play with the arrow :(
That was great! Simple, fun first person platforming that was not too dificult! And FINALLY SOMEONE BESIDES ME USES A PAUSE MENU! Great job! :D
Excellent game. It feels really polished, and the mechanic is very fun (frantically search for and running after repair nodes while carefully avoiding gaps). I love the use of the theme (the *terrain* evolves - making the game different each time). I found it quite hard at first until I had a repair node spawn somewhere I thought was unreachable, and realised that you could jump. Still nicely challenging though. Might be nice to make it slightly more tactical (e.g. choosing where to deploy each repair node rather than it just taking effect wherever you pick it up, or having multiple repair nodes appear at a time and having to choose which one to go for).
Great game, really unique feel for the first person perspective, love the little touches of helping the player know when the blocks will fall. There is alot of potential here for expansion.
I love the crisp and clear look of the game. The tiles, background, and repair nodes look great and are easy to see.
The music got a bit repetitive, and I would have preferred less 'floaty' movement (i.e. faster acceleration and deceleration) in this style of game.
I like the personality that comes through from the virus' facial expressions.
Pretty enjoyable, although when I started I had a "So, what am I supposed to do?" moment. Once that was out of the way it was a very nice experience, the screens on the side were a very nice addition.
I looked up when I was falling for the first time! =P
Made it close to the end of the 3rd level (48/50 points). Gets hard pretty fast but feels like the right thing to do on this game. You learn the mechanics pretty fast and then it's a challenge. The collision box for the repair nodes could be less cruel, though, it is smaller than the other nodes' since it's easier to fall than to get the repair node, but I guess it makes part of the challenge.
Graphics are awesome and the music is good. Very nice mood. =)
The compo version is really challenging, but nice looking. The post-compo version is easier, but not as fun, since when you click you get negative points that you need to reaccumulate to get to the next level.
Here is what I propose: make the repair nodes give you two kinds of points: repair points and level points, but without making them repair the random nodes they are on.Then, you would be able to repair the system in the places you wish with the repair points(by clicking), and the virus would level-up after a fix amount of level-up points, not considering how many times you repaired the system, but how many times you got repair points.
Hi Zelen3d, Thank you for your comment. I've noticed the same problem and came up with pretty much the same solution with some slight changes. I've uploaded the new version 1.1. Thanks.
Nice idea, mood and graphics. Becomes a tad repetitve a(nd the music too)
Oh my... first person platformer never is a good idea. TTP would fit better to this actually interesting mechanic.
Cool game, Its great you made a flash version although the lack of mouse grab made it very hard to play.
Man, your game is hard! But is fun to play anyway, and really polished.
Awesome game! Spent a lot of time trying to beat the highscore, but is impossible!! I got 40 and died
I also loved the post compo version. It makes much more sense now.
Nice work! Love the music, and the graphics are simple + efficient.
Takes a while to figure out what to do, though. Also sad: No evolution :(
Fantastic game with a minimal art style and game mechanic. It is really easy to pick up; even without reading the instructions I figured out what I was supposed to do. The extra level of interaction in the post-compo version with the clicking mechanic is perfect. My favorite Unity game yet!
Fun and well polished game, one downside was I didn't see how it fitted the theme at all.
Very fun game. Looking forward to your version with upgraded graphics!
Hey, Great job!
You should put the flash version on newgrounds and watch as you become famous compared to all the other games there!
That way when you promote it you'll have more supporters!
47 points! Good simple gameplay, and I appreciated how the randomly disappearing tile sections changed the terrain.
One of the best games I've played in this LD, it seems very complete already and is a lot of fun - I like the mechanic a lot. Audio was great, as well as overall atmosphere! :D
Very fun. This game is awesome and I played for a long time. Good job.
Interesting concept but being a first person game really kills it. I need to see where I'm landing to play this game.
Polish and playable game. The graphics really looks fine! Good job.
Gfx and audio nicely fitting together in this one. I didn't feel the evolving AI in it though.
There aren't so much features sadly but I'm happy about you making it better post-compo.
Really nice audio/visual fell to this, very coherent. Nice idea as well, think it fits well with the theme
Woo, that was some heavy bass drum in my headphones! certainly fits the pace of the game. Looks sleek too.
Interesting but quite repetitive, and not very related to the theme
I didn't notice the tie-in to the theme, but it was an excellent and fun game!
As other users have said, it's a bit repetitive and the connection with the theme is rather vague. Anyway, doing a solid 3D game like this in ~72hrs is quite an accomplishment on its own. Kudos!
Pretty cool. I normally agree that first person platforming is awful, but you've pulled it off rather nicely. Well done.

Very nice looking and solid game.
