August 24th-27th 2012 :: Theme: Evolution
Spot the patterns in the evolving Lifeforms and use your Godly Ability Cards to keep them alive as long as possible! The more lifeforms alive every second, the more points you score.
It's a game of multiple rounds, you'll need to play a few times to figure out all the behaviours (unless you are some kind of super being).
Don't forget to post your scores! :D
Note: If the game does't reset properly, just refresh the page.
Ran out of time to do art for the Ability Cards. Hopefully the descriptions are enough to get you by.

I liked the card idea, and would love to see this game if you do art for the cards, because now you have to waste time to see what they do. The art was simple, but it works.
Very cool concept but a bit hard to understand. I think I got it after 3 or 4 tries.
Very hard too see the pattern and remember what name is what. I tried a 3 or 4 times and got maximum 2414 points. Still I enjoyed trying.
I like the simplistic graphics, I also liked the concept, although it was a bit confusing at first
Thanks guys.
@Pixelulsar - I'm utterly gutted I ran out of time to do art for the cards. Even something simple. It became a last minute decision between art or the tooltips themselves and I went with the latter. Hope it was the right decision in the end.
Will do a post-compo version with more cards, and possibly some deck building elements as well.
Oh, and don't forget to post your scores! ;D
(I've managed 3112, but I'm sure you guys can beat that!)
I like the concept, I'ts very hard to make the ecosystem staying alive !
My score is 1240 x)
I got like only 1000 points when I played :P A bit difficult to get into but a very cool concept :)
Nice, I also sucked at this, but it was fun, and a good idea.
Thought the concept was great. Bit hard to understand at first, and I agree would have been better with graphics on the cards. Sure do understand the running out of time thing!! Liked the bold, clear graphics. Overall a very good job!! Thanks
Pretty cool. Wasn't quite sure I wanted anything other than plants. They are easy to maintain. Extinction happened but I am unsure as to why. There still seemed to be some creatures left. I got around ~500 points on the first try.
You need to keep both species (Squares/Quads and Circles/Disks) alive. Extinction occurs when either of their populations reaches 0. It's not very clear - writing the instructions at 1:40am probably isn't the best idea xP
Note to self: It probably should say "Disks have gone extinct!" or "Quads have gone extinct!" on the game over screen to give you a bit more of a clue what's going on.
I LOVE this game. I'm REALLY addicted. Would love to see you build on it~
very neat gameplay, a bit tricky to understand, i'll still have to play a bit more to be able to play correctly. But, anyway, if you want to devellop this concept ( which would be awesome ), make a tutorial :D
Thanks girls 'n' guys! :D If people like it (which seems to be the case!) I will do a post-compo version. And of course Pereubu - a Tutorial is a must! :D
The more I figure out about how to play/win this, the worse I become at surviving :)
it took me some time to understand it but it was worth it. Its really fun to play
I really like the concept, it's different than most game and variety is always good :)
great job!
Cool idea. Was a little hard to figure out what each card did. I think it could be a cool little sandbox though.
not sure i get it, but what i identify as underlying idea i like a lot. for a puzzle challenge i believe it would need more guidance but the sandboxy aspect is nice
I don't know why the game ends, there are still living stuff on screen. Maybe they are dying in the same time and allways it seems. So I can't get the whole thing of this. But it's nicely done. Don't seem to have bugs, just needs more explaining maybe.
It does need more explaining indeed.
The reason the game ends even though there's stuff on the screen: There are two species Quads (square) and Disks (Circle) - if *either* species goes extinct, it's game over.

Good idea, but I suck at this because it's just so much more fun to make omnivores and carnivorous plants.
